The weather in the South East was forecast to be cool and cloudy, so off I set to the West for a two-nighter on Dartmoor where the weather was fabulous!
Day one, Thursday, involved a 235 mile trek across the country to Belstone where I had lunch at Whitehouse Services just off the A30 at Okehampton before parking up and heading up onto a ridge to camp at Oke Tor.
Friday saw an easy amble across to the opposite side of the horseshoe ridge line to Wild Tor via Hangingstone Hill which was populated by an assortment of army personnel.
Saturday’s predominantly downhill route of 6 miles took me back to the car park.
476.2 miles driven in 10 hours 20 minutes at an indicated 75.8mpg.
23.6km (14.7 miles) walked over 7 hours 15 minutes with 846m elevation gain.
Four meals consumed (Spicy Pork Noodles, Mac’n’Cheese, Dahl, All-Day Breakfast) plus a Chocolate Pudding.
6 litres of water consumed.
