Just when I start to feel bleak about the events in the Church, you post a reflection that affects me deeply. Your timing is stellar. The differences between the NO Mass and the Latin Mass are so obvious and so completely two different rites that I do keep my hope up for all Catholics searching for the Church that Jesus gave us. Thank you for always putting a positive message out for all to listen to during these dark times. You are in my daily rosaries for peace of heart and continued wisdom.

I have always said that Father. People would just leave the Church and we wouldn’t want that. I do think that the practice of communion on the hand should end with proper teaching why this was being done. Thank you Father and a Blessed Advent to you also. You are in my prayer daily.

I converted 25 years ago into the Novus Ordo thinking that it represented tradition and unity. I now see the bigger picture and I’m dismayed by the efforts to suppress the TLM. I’m hovering between the two and increasingly aware that I may need to choose the TLM… feels like we’re going into the trenches. But I’m more grateful than ever for the Holy Eucharist.

We are called to pray for our enemies which can be very difficult, but we need to do this. The Holy Face devotion made me really come to terms with this. Our Lord gave us prayers to defeat communists and revolutionary men. He doesn't want them destroyed though; He wants them converted. We need to pray for the destruction of the movement but not the people themselves.

There are no traditional Catholic Churches where I'm at. I only know of it because of programs like this one. I have pursued the faith with my heart and live it in my life. I do long for, however, a traditional church. Pax Christi

Thank you so much for this. I have family members who love the Novis Ordo mass. TLM is not available nearby to them, and it feels foreign to them. You have answered the questions I have pondered in my heart many times while visiting a Novis Ordo mass for various reasons. (For example, my father's funeral on the Feast of St. Francis). He loved God with his whole heart and was always striving for holiness, but felt more connected with the Novis Ordo. I'm very thankful for your insight and wisdom.

These are important sentiments; thank you for sharing. I particularly love the 'rice milk to meat' comparison... it's a gentle reminder that our N.O. family and friends are not ready. I have attended the Novo Ordo. I didn't know any other kind of Mass. Then, by chance I attended the traditional Latin Mass. What a change! It was a balsam to my soul! I love it! I recently moved to a different state where there is no Latin Mass or any traditional Mass anywhere near and I so long for it.

I watch Latin Mass online. It’s a peaceful refuge during the weekdays. I particularly like the Mass from St Mary’s on Broadway in Providence.

The fact that a Tibetan Terrier, whose ancestors were animists & Lamaists, is able to articulate these ancient truths so eloquently with no formal training in theology proves the universality of the Catholic Church. I understand they were used by the Tibetan monasteries to warn of intruders. Good choice - he will bark menacingly if the Ay Dee El comes knocking.

As a previous N.O. barely hanging on Catholic, I had no idea the TLM still existed. I had a voice internally tell me I needed something more traditional while looking around and noticing how showy everything was. The warbling soloist, the talking, the trying to be funny priest…. I’d had enough. This same church this same church that is had the inspiration in had a female offering some type of Ash Wednesday service with no priest around. She even gave a homily. I wrongly believed Ash Wednesday was a holy day of obligation and wanted to get up and shout to her that she wasn’t a priest and then walk out. I didn’t because I thought maybe I was somehow still required to be there. This was in 2013. The N.O. Is morally destructive but maybe some people really are still blind to anything outside of it. I have seen comments from some in the N.O. Church that have said they want the TLM to be removed.

Thank you Father. You have provided true pastoral care to me. Raised novus ordo, but learning more deeply about tradition, you have provided the guidance I need to respond in my heart to either side of the Francis schism. Within my NO upbringing, I have known so many excellent priests, intelligent, warm, wise men - I have had a great experience of the Church. Your message provides true reconciliation in the Holy Spirit of our Lord. I am Catholic because of its richness, its abundance, the Eucharist. To see fellow Catholics marking out battle lines is sad, and discouraging when, as you point out, the Real Enemy is set upon us so ferociously. You are a Christmas blessing for my soul.

Thank you once again Father. Your talks inspire me with a great sense of hope. While not having the option here in my part of Ireland to attend TLM I was deliberating if I should return to the novus ordo. I prayed so much for enlightenment. To be brief, I couldn't in conscience return to the new mass. I listened to a sermon on the Commandments by a traditional priest and the first Commandment relieved my conscience and any remaining doubt. Offenses against the first Commandment included, offering false worship to the True God and offering scandalous worship to the True God. I believe ( a personal belief) that while the new mass is permitted to continue that great tribulations will and do follow. I believe Catholics do more harm to their faith by attending than by staying at home and praying. St Anthony Mary Claret said as much in his autobiography when telling of some scandalous practices and sermons given by priests even in his days on earth.

Yesterday ,Sunday , third Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday December 17th, 2023. Unfortunately, Milton Gregory is my Bishop / Cardinal. The Archdiocese of Washington, DC. There are six churches being affected by the canceling of the Traditional Latin Mass in the Archdiocese of Washington, DC. Thanks to Pope Francis and Cardinal Milton Gregory I can not attend the TLM. Thank goodness for KZfaq I can watch the TLM from Chicago. Illinois from Saint John Cantius church live. Thank you Father JM. God bless you. Viva Cristo Rey.

St Benedict also has exclusively TLM daily lives on youtube. That's where I 'attend' mass, as the only TLM anywhere near me is a 40-45 min drive. The problem is it's in a rough area - high crime.

I have yet to find a Catholic outlet, here in Sydney who are happy to obtain your books for me . I have resolved this issue for myself now and pray for our clergy . Once upon a time this state of heart would have left me very vulnerable to further gas lighting but God is showing me how to discern........good from evil .

4:29 more than simply listening to the voices of traditionalists, they would listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Bishops have a very special grace to be guided extraordinarily by that Holy Spirit, but they can choose to cooperate with that grace or to not cooperate with that grace.
