Why are you not interested in defending others from this kind of attack, instead of normalising it? As you know full well, I have not attacked Luisa, but said repeatedly that she is a victim of a predator (as in the thumbnail of the first video of three on the dw deception -- it is quite obvious). I don't have sufficient reason to think she was complicit, as we ought to give the benefit of the doubt. But there is so obviously a wicked mind pouring deceptions into her, that I am amazed that you, who profess to respect her, are not angered by this. Take a look at the bigger picture, instead of your obsessive emotional attachment to her, and concern yourself with those who have abused her so that they can turn many away from the true Faith. Man up to a proper fight, instead of slinging barbs without arguments on YT.

I decided to listen again while I was driving because I’m meeting with a friend next week who is into DW. I literally started gagging when I listened to the part about “black liquid”. Father, I’m sorry you had to endure this to inform people and I hope the attacks by the DW followers don’t dishearten you. Without knowing any details about Divine Will and LP, I didn’t trust it. I kept seeing Daniel O’Connor pushing this strongly everywhere, even channels I normally listened to. Fr James, thank you for taking the time to clarify why this is so evil and repugnant. I can’t believe so many people are being misled with this DW deceit and being lead to darkness and a risk to their souls.

As Catholics we have enough with the pillars of Doctrine, Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer. Our will is a great gift to be used, not obliterated, in discernment. This is our fight and we must always know that we are susceptible to error. We can become new creatures in Christ but will always be fighting our passions and disordered wills. The TLM and Confessions and the rosary until our Lord calls us. Thank you Fr James🙏😊.

This reminds me of Fr Malachi Martin’s Book on stories of 5 possessions. One of them was a priest who was groomed into evil not knowing he was possessed by an evil spirit. This is what the world is going through as we speak.

Yes. I know Fr Dominique Auzenet well. I am an American who has lived in western France since 1986, He has huge resources online for discerning and recognizing the occult and all types of sect behaviors , in addition to his work as an exorcist in LeMans. His discernment is excellent and he has spent his priesthood fighting these and similar errors. I was not aware of his booklet on DW but will write him now for a copy . Thanks be to God your research brought it into the light ! And you dear Father, are the answer to my prayers that God would reveal that true nature behind the Divine Will writings. This is the true "gift" of the "Divine" Will devotion: its usefulness as a litmus test in discerning false teachers. I refuse to listen to anyone, priest or layperson, who promotes it. Thank you for all the time and work you put into these videos, Fr. JM. And I praise God that I did not discover DW when I was still a protestant seeking the truth, because it may well have put me off Catholicism for good.

Obviously, neither. Both these approaches will fail while the tantrum is proceeding. But an experienced parent ignores them until they calm down. But what if the child starts lashing out and breaking things? Please , take a look at yourself. Everyone here knows where you stand, thanks to your dozens upon dozens of repetitive messages. We know that you think anyone who promotes the DW is a good Catholic, and anyone who rejects it is spiritually stupid. Don't you see that by this you have let the DW replace the Creed? I very rarely delete users comments, but I deleted one of yours yesterday where you insulted all the sensible people here by blanket calling them stupid. Take a step back. Calm down. Orientate yourself to the Faith of our Fathers (not letting the DW be your litmus test of everyone else's soul). I have been torn the past few weeks about the DW. As I said before I had beeb reading the hours for almost three years everyday. When I first started reading them I struggled greatly with impure thoughts - this should have been a warning enough but I loved that I could meditate on Our Lord and thought that it was just me and something I needed to overcome. Your videos are the only thing I can find online that explains so indepth the flaws of this devotion. There is so much on the DW at the moment and it seems like it has a lot of followers. My mind has changed a few times over the past few weeks on what to do. I thought that I would just take the middle ground because I didn't know what to do but I realise we can't be down the middle. It is either true or not. I have always tried to take the middle ground in life to avoid conflict but now is not the time for that. I do not want to offend Our Lord, I love Him so much, He knows my heart. And after seeing this video I believe you are correct, thank you for taking the time to so throughly go through this, it is something I wouldn't have been able to do so well myself. From the promoters of the DW it seems like it is becoming a bit of an obsession and a bit like the only way to be saved now is to follow it. I just can't see how that can be true. I also watched a video of a promoter trying to defend the DW which made me feel extremely uncomfortable, he was very angry and the calmness and confidence in what you are saying and how much you seem like you care for souls is just night and day. You do not have to insult or offend to have righteous anger and to deliver the truth. You have done so in love. I will continue to pray for this. For you, the followers of the DW, for Luisa and for a greater love of God, growth in virtue, to use the sacraments often and for my eyes to always be open to the truth. Your confusion re DW is understandable but unnecessary if you really sought the fullness of Truth. I've done due diligence over many decades and it's a purification. Heaven is taken by storm! Those who want it must fight for it and pass the tests of purgation, illumination & unitive...now God gives the generative virtue which IS THE DIVINE WILL which is God Himself. This is the Fullfillment of the OUR FATHER prayer that Jesus gave us....Thy Kingdom Come...now it's been given through Blessed Mother 1st w her Fiat, Jesus 2nd with His 'Thy Will be Done', 3rd Fiat is to Restore Plan A, Adam before the Fall. The fulfillment of the OUR FATHER is the Gift of Living in the Kingdom of the Divine Will...we acquire it little by little by giving our Fiat ad Mary did....any other perverted ideation is on you dear.

But Holy Mother Church never teaches this. In any apparition or private revelation I know of that has been approved what is necessary for salvation doesn't change the messages given are messages of hope, directing us to what the Church already teaches, a call to do futher penances and a call to love. Why if this is now necessary for us all, would God give it to us in a private revelation? When the Church says we can take or leave private revelation. Again with the DW followers, they seem to think it is necessary for salvation and anyone not a part of it is not doing Catholicism right - I reject that. Also there is no need to be sarcastic in calling me dear. I have not been in any way offensive about anyone. Again - speak with love. The DW crowd - it seems to me - are on the attack of anyone who disagrees and they don't mind hurting feelings unnecessarily if they need to. Prayers x

I wonder if they see "Devine Will" and, hey, who doesn't want to do God's will? (Okay, there are some.) It seems somethings conflated. I didn't want to listen to this; it's very, very dark. I did though because in contesting it the defenders want page numbers and proof. Personally, LP's photo was disturbing from a first look.

I found the DW from Daniel O'Connor. He had many parts of the volumes on his website. I never saw any of the parts you have highlighted. My goodness, I would have fled immediately reading that filth! Daniel is or so seems such a righteous man. Why won't he admit his errors?? I will pray for him and for all that have been duped.

Mainly pride and a couple of things for example he "believes" that Divine Will healed his mother, I don't know the exact details around this but have heard it said. If his mother was healed through some mysterious means then it only comes directly from God and not Divine Will cult. That said Daniel and Thaddeus with a number of others are prime examples of how dangerous this heretical cult is. Cults in general often have a very potent grasp on people. Beyond this is the fact we can be confident enough that at least some/many of these writings contents come from the serpent, that is a non human intelligence. I won't go as far as to say all of the writings are of demonic nature due to the high possibility of mental illness with Luisa. I would lean towards Luisa's writings being both infernal and mental illness. We also need to consider the different kinds of possession and how the devil and other fallen angels manifest and behave in this world. None of us are exorcists but we know from exorcists that some cases are purely mental illness and some are truly demonic. Without evidence or enough background ( that is factual vs fiction ) we would have to examine all that to attempt to discern if she would fall under what the Catholic church would rule as true possession. I think it's accurate to claim she was a victim, to factually state exactly all that went on here is difficult due to lack of details or medical notes and or abuse she may have endured before all this. As Catholics we may often instantly assume this or that person is possessed but such a state is rare compared to those who might be influenced by evil and suffering mental illness at the same time. Anyone who is bed ridden for that length, even if they were mentally sound prior to that I think it would be reasonable to accept that it would or could lead to mentall illness as well. Trauma and anxiety, delusions or the mind wandering and attempting to deal with such a frustrating and difficult way of living you know ? Consider writing that number of books and being stuck in a bed most of your life, it would be a way for some human beings to cope with what would be in many ways a literal hell on earth. Such mental states are easy prey for the serpent.

Thanks to a comment by “salme1017”, I searched and found this passage on the consecrated Host as the “dwelling place” and “cortege” of Jesus, which contradicts the Catholic dogma that the consecrated host is Jesus Himself literally : Book of Heaven, Volume 15 - June 18, 1923 : “Every sacramental host was entrusted to Me and contains the dwelling place of my humanity and the cortege of honors of my divinity.”

As revolting and disturbing as these diary entries are, it really shows just how evil and jealous the devil is. He really hates Our Lord and Our Lady, and is tireless in apeing and mocking true mysticism, twisting the truth, seeking souls to bind and devour with his lies. If the devil can go to such lengths, knowing full well that he has already lost, how much more ought we to strive to serve Our Lord with all our strength, at every moment, knowing that we serve a Master who has already obtained the victory.

I rarely throw away a book but I threw away Daniel O’Connor's book on the divine will after reading about half of it. Thaddeus Kozinski had recommended it. What nonsense. I couldn't believe these professors' lack of discernment.

Daniel O'Connor is not a professor. He is an adjunct instructor at a community college. He is not listed as professor in the community college's staff director, although others have that title. He is technically an adjunct in Education and Social Studies, according to his school. He does not have a Ph.D., he was a grad student in philosophy.

Before seeing these 3 videos I started reading The Hours of the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. I thought the book would be a good reflection for Lent. I couldn’t get past the first two hours. It just turned me off. After seeing these videos, I can see why the book did not sit well with me. I’m glad I followed my heart and put the book down.

I feel bad for Daniel O’Connor for falling for this Divine will. I vaguely remember Mother Angelica being against the Divine Will and that is why the sister who followed this left Birmingham. I trust Mother Angelica and Father Maudsley. Daniel poured too much of his life into a mystic instead of just finding and trusting the teachings of the Holy Mass

Thank you Fr. Mawdsley for the what must have been a real penance for you to go through this horrendous occultic stuff to bring clarity to what and who is really behind these evil "teachings." It saddens me to see "a thousand fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand" too many Catholics are falling for false apparations and messages these days, it is as if they are afraid to die and return to their true home. Our Beloved Lord Jesus Christ left us with all we will need to get us to heaven - we have the Sacred Scriptures, Sacred Tradition, True Magisterium, The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - Jesus Christ Himself - Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Blessed Sacrament - we are blessed to have all the Sacraments - especially the Sacrament of Ordination - without our Priests, we do not have Our Lord. We have the approved apparations - most notably Fatima, Akita, etc. All we need to do is live good Catholic lives that is pleasing and glorifying to God - and remain in a state of grace. If we fall - and we will, being sinners that we are - Our Lord has given us the Sacrament of Penance. Blessed Be God.

It seems someone has been leaving pamphlets in the vestibule of the church which he prohibits. It may very well have been brought to his attention because of your warnings. Again. I actually didn't know much at all about DW until you brought this info to the forefront, Father. I'm glad you did! I don't think I would have fallen for it, being traditional from childhood and very dissatisfied with the NO and new church, so much so that I stepped away for over a decade. I'm back now, but remain a parish orphan. No TLM within a reasonable distance AND in a safe neighborhood. I'm currently attending an NO at a different parish, and it's somewhat better than the last, but still leaves me empty. I have nowhere with a trusted priest for confession or spiritual counsel. I need guidance and cannot access such. Prayers, please. I'm looking for God to bring me relief. Please bring me a holy priest and Mass, Lord. 🙏

@sebathadah1559 Much better than a book would be if anyone knows people in their diocese being misled by the DW deception, then please write to your bishop and ask him to make a clear statement warning people off this, or at least that he petition the Vatican and ask for a clear condemnation, once and for all. Natalia Trouiller wrote that it seems the Vatican knows there are irresolvable problems with the DW writings, but wants this thing to simply die out through people's lack of interest. However, that is an irresponsible and cowardly dereliction of duty. They should address it head on.

While Daniel and all those blinded by this cult and heresy need our prayers ( yes they truly do ) it's important to state the blunt truth as well. To point out the obvious flaws and in some case outright lies. I fully understand he has a massive part in books and videos which is his life. The problem with that is he is either intentionally choosing OR blindly choosing ( I personally think it's a bit of both for a few reasons ) to continue to SPREAD dangerous heretical writings and teaching from hell. This greatly puts his own soul in danger because those who are aware and continue to spread it only increase the GRAVITY of that error and sin, along with those who are truly ignorant and easily taken advantage of continuing to be unsure of what is truth what is false by refusing to honestly confront all the points Fr has made and researched. It's very very dangerous for people to be following false infernal writings and teachings. As far as Luisa herself Daniel is 100% wrong, I don't think I've seen a single person on these videos condemn Luisa nor spew malice towards her. Quite the contrary, what I have seen is charity towards her soul and suffering and being a victim to a very evil non human intelligence and quite possibly human ones prior to all of this. I've seen nothing but compassion towards Luisa from Fr Mawdsley and many others, nor do I see any logical reason for someone to attack or condemn any victim of abuse spiritually or in the physical world. His claim that anyone is attacking Luisa personally are completely untrue and I have not seen any evidence to back up his slander here. His narrative is quite weak and while I've listened to it I found it ignored all relevant and important topics Fr exposed and points out. Heresy and false teaching is not a human being, nor is there ever an excuse once known to be that for any catholic ( laity or priest ) to continue to promote and spread that. They would be committing a mortal sin by doing so if they are in full control of their mental faculties. The strong catholic action by Daniel or anyone else who follows this heresy, would be to repent of it in public. To spread the truth of it's errors in order to HELP souls who are deep in this filth which would be good for their soul and many others led astray. I'm sure if Daniel and others took that action quite a few would respect and find that a good holy act. I would certainly admire and respect anyone taking such action, it takes strength and humility to admit sometimes we are wrong vs pride.

Im not one bit surprised to hear about LP' Jewish ancestry; such fantastic teachings as hers, point out to a deeply spiritual but disturbed mentality, very likely shaped by the former geterations. I fear,, that people, who got trapped into LP's "spirituality" had been themselves spiritually very unhealthy prior to becoming her followers. Thank you Father. I listened to the man pushing for canonization of Louisa. His attacks were more focused on you than justifying canonizing this woman. Even his follow up justifying his venomous attack was yet another rant against a priest. At one point it dawned on me that this man is possibly possessed and we need to pray for him and his family. My other concerns are for those other Catholic podcasters who continue to have him on their sites and support this canonization effort. Veiled smart cracks make it clear the hosts have heard about this back and forth, but are friends or simply on his side based on some bias or ignorance. We need to pray all those involved with this man see the truth about this push and see the diabolical nature of her writings. That they remember that NOTHING evil comes from God, NOTHING. Daniel is very much attached to DW and has made Picarretta's a significant part of his life, makin many videos on his own and other channels promoting the devotion. He also sells books that he's written on DW. He also named one of his daughters, Luisa. His investment in Picarretta is substantial and he appears to lack the humility to even consider what Fr Mawdsley is pointing out.

I bought the Hours of the Passion and the DW book from Daniel O'Connor. After I read the hours, i really didn't like it compared to Alphone DiLigour. So I didn't read it again. I tried to read the DW, but it didn't connect. It sounds weird, but it reminded me of the "Q" thing in the US. Any suggestions as to what to do with these bundles of paper. Should I destroy them or just chuck them in the bin? Thanks Fr.

Lots of priests and enthusiasts promote secondary books about the DW, so the followers never see the diaries in their entirety, but just whitewashed spirituality from them. That said, I agree with you, that anyone who reads the 'Hours of the Passion' (which many do), should be appalled by it and throw it away. Strangely, they do not. It may be in part because the Church has lost her traditional liturgy and preaching, so people don't realise how off this stuff is. How sober and pure is the traditional liturgy! It is the centre of our spiritual life so that anything that clashes with it can be quickly rejected.

I, too, am so grateful for your thorough and calm explanation of the history and misguided devotion to the DW. The unspeakable entries revealed in your first video were hard to listen to. Even so, I anxiously watched the rebuttal from an influencer who was so condescending and mean in defending his position it seemed evil itself. With so much confusion in the Church and world today, I thought I had found something to simplify the chaos and deepen my faith - I felt like perhaps the DW was an important devotion I had missed somewhere along the line. One more tool for my spiritual toolbox. But all we need is to keep our eyes on Jesus Christ like a laser beam. Thank you for providing clarity, Father. It’s astounding the lengths Satan goes to to win souls. May we all be blessed with the grace of final perseverance.

Thank you Father for defending the truth. I particularly didn't know this "devotion", it is thankfully not so famous here in Brazil (at least not in my state). I've felt really disgusted by everything in this diary, and I think it really affected me, I've been thinking about it a lot and every time I feel great pain in my heart whenever I remember it, and the people who have been deceived by it. I think I'm probably not the only one who feels the same. You should probably talk about something brighter in the next video, to not let this dishearten anyone.

@22:00 this torture I recognize. I was into the New Age and Gnosticism and occultism before Christ saved me. He truly did and I converted and cleaned out a demonic mess I made of my soul, but sometimes I felt I indeed needed to suffer for Him, no matter if there was a reason for it or not. Thanks to this video, I realize that suffering is only necessary for when a real cause presents itself to be solved, in the real world. But in general Our Lord wants to give us His peace, loving kindness and joy. He does not want us to go through the flames, unless you are a firefighter and need to rescue someone, perhaps... Because I was a newborn Christian I slowly started to completely chastise myself in my fantasy, as if I need to leave joy behind. I pray Our Lord to straighten out these things in myself and my life. If needed I take up a cross, but we are not playing a mystery play, like the Freemasons or Alchemists do, with false crucifixions and false masses as a practice in an imagination. There is no virtue in that in the real world! I also see this, apparently in church, some people obey all and go to mass all day completely annihilate themselves (or perhaps I am just having that idea) without that I see them live in joy in their lives. Wow, so much to ponder about. Thank you a lot Father!

The idea of destroying your own and living subject to some external spiritual entity's will reminds me of how Malachi Martin describes some cases of demonic possession in his book Hostage to the Devil.

I had no idea how much process of canonization has changed! I always believed it took years of thorough investigation before anyone could be deemed a saint. Thank you Father for your in-depth explanation..✝️🙏🏻

Yes. I think a 50-year waiting period developed, and that was a very good idea. Got sidelined in the 1980s (give or take a couple of decades). Bad idea. Things emerge with time.

It looks like some Fr. JM's detractors are infected with the same grooming spirit as Luisa. ~ Long posts full of insults of the vilest kind ending with things like; "I pray for your soul." or "God Bless you." so similar to the pseudo-Jesus in LP's diaries.
