VLOG 006!!! It feels like I just started these vlogs yesterday and now we are already on number 6?! Anyways, in todays vlog we went thrifting in Germany, I learned German, I had my last few days of ballet, and I prepared for my trip to the Netherlands (and I'm here right now and living my best life of course). I hope you guys enjoyed this video and I'll see you next week. Love you guys, Ciao.

If you can master English spelling, you can do anything. At least German, like Spanish, doesn’t have exceptions to every rule and mountains of syntactically vital elements of style to use. The masculine and feminine are applied to different parts of speech in the two of them, but as an English speaker, everything sounds better in Deutsch or Español-at least to me.

I’m also a Québécois British and still know English is much more complicated than people realize. The tragedy of English is that it has so much in common with both German and French, thereby making it part of neither language.

that part about 'an apartment" being a she in German. Man, in my native language all words have genders and they most often do not match German genders. For example "a room" is feminine in Russian but neuter in German. And my brain sometimes forgets this and then I'm like "oh this whole sentence should be different 'cause I used a different gender"

Now in French, gender is very easy to determine. If the noun ends in an e, it is feminine 95% of the time and thus you only need to memorize the remaining 5% but most french people don't even bother, they usually just assume that if it ends in an e that it is feminine. Also, words in French are either male or female, there is no neutral. It is so simplistic It is no wonder the French invented the metric system.

man i would've loved to see my boyfriend who is from the netherlands for christmas. i'm german, living in munich and i haven't seen him since september. but with lockdown and quarantine upon return it just wasn't in the cards this year. your german seems good by the way! keep it up! a small tip: i noticed you pronouncing "ch" for example in "ich" like "sh", i read a trick how to make the german "ch" sound, idk if you've already heard it but: say the word "cute" slowly, the sound you're making when transitioning from the k-sound to the u, is what "ch" in "ich" sounds like. try it! :)

beautiful background music as you are doing your stretch exercises. I note that you say you are going to the Netherlands but not being specific about where, which I can understand. Even though I was born in Germany (Aachen), I have always felt at home in the Netherlands, though I can't wrap my tongue around the Dutch language's gutteral consonants ... especially the "gogh" as in van Gogh! If you could share afterwards where in the Netherlands you were, that would be interesting to me.
