Also, remember that you would have to keep each and every command perfectly if you ever hope to get to heaven by your works. If you think your works prove that you are saved, that can only prove that you are lost. John 5:24 says that we have already passed from death unto life from the moment we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Who are you proving salvation to? Jesus? The one who gave it to you as a gift? Is Jesus an Indian giver now?

If works are not a part of the deal, then why even make the verse that says that "by their fruit you shall know them". Clearly at least a single action is required to show change. If not, then that verse is meaningless

Ok is the single good action the by-product (show) of God giving me the unearned gift of being a child of God? Or is the single good action the work I must to do to earn the free gift from God of naking me His child? I really dont want to bring devide between believers but I think we must underdtand the Word of God better and talk about it as all off us are so trapped in human church traditions.

The phrase “ye shall know them by their fruits” is not even in reference to knowing if a person is saved or not. It’s referencing knowing a false teacher by what they teach; their words. - Trent

Abraham wasn’t always faithful in his actions. He lied. He heeded to to leadership of his wife (just like Adam did with Eve) and produced an illegitimate child with Hagar. However, because Abraham was justified by faith, God did not impute Abraham’s sins to him.

To show sin is deeper than just physical action, that we are also judged on our thoughts and content of heart. No where in the sermon on the mount does Jesus say we need good works to be saved. Read the new testament and see how blatantly we are saved by faith, not works. It's said time and time again.

@@BibleLine yes, I agree we can fail at everything, we aren't perfect but that's what Jesus commanded so we gotta do our best to follow through for he loves everyone. So must we. It's hard I get it especially when someone does you wrong, or even harms you, but the Holy spirit will keep you at peace no matter what your going through. Seek Christ's face, ask to have a personal encounter with Christ. I had mine and my life in an instant changed. Not how I expected but I died and that's how I had my encounter with Christ Jesus my LORD and Saviour. I was giving another chance at life, I am being led as much as I possible can by the Holy Spirit I see him working in my life with even the simplest things. Thank GOD for this new life and the edifying and molding that's going on in my character and my life. I'm not perfect and he knows that I fail more than I would care to admit to myself but he still loves me no matter what. Embraces me with open arms and I want to just share this JESUS CHRIST IS ALIVE, and IS KING. SURRENDER TO HIM, FULL FAITH IN HIM BRETHREN. Most people say they have faith in him but I see it more often than I expect is that they say they have faith but their actions don't agree with their words. It's hard I get it cause most people with their mindset, theirs built lives they took years to have and to pick up their cross while everyone "thinks" they are doing good is so difficult. Most people want to fit GOD into their busy lives and that's not how this works. Give your life to CHRIST and let him mold, guide and change you into the person he knows is best for you. Most peoples schedule is 8-10 hrs for work, 2 hours for fam, 2 hours for gym or video games, 1 hour for GOD if that, 6-8 hrs sleep. And what we must do is give 24 hrs to GOD and let him sort out the life he knows your truly gonna be happy and let yourself be guided and actually listen to his voice.

Btw, people use the thief on the cross as an example of faith alone, which is fine, he clearly wasn’t able to perform any works. But he DID show good fruit of compassion/love towards Christ. Now whether or not we will consider love as a fruit or a work or both im not so sure.

That judgment is for unbelievers. Nonetheless, believers will be judged according to their works, but it is because they already ARE in possession of eternal life. Cf 1 Cor. 3:10-16 - Trent
