Archery only challenge is easy, so how about a THROWING only challenge? No melee, no archery, is it possible? How effective is it? How many throwing weapons can you carry with all perks? How good are troops with only throwing?

As with all my playthroughs, this is BANNERLORD difficulty, but with clan member battle deaths OFF. Based on the video, throwing only troops might seem OP, but I've spent dozens of hours fine tuning every captain perk I can, and choose more entertaining footage for the story.
The only mod I used was My Little Warband, which works on 1.1.5 (the playthrough is on 1.2.1, but I somewhat fixed the mod myself)

God, I love throwing weapons in this game, being able to pierce shields late game is stupidly broken and fun.

It's not broken actually. Roman pilum is shield breaker historically. Mike Loades demonstrated how pilum were used against charging infantries. You can learn more from Tod's Workshop video.

@@LCInfantry Ha fair you can't really get that charging bonus from a horse when getting sieged... but as a early game weapon it's pretty great, you can chuck on or two before fighting

i always thought throwing weapons were mid until i tried them with a two handed axe in a sort of berserker build and they are so much fun

One small tip: Create separate lines of troops, that way only one gets entrenched in melee and the other can continue slaughtering. Bonus if you angle them in a slight V so they can hit the backs of the troops engaging the other line

Something interesting I notice is that the innacuracy of throwing is actually really useful. Whereas archers/crossbowmen tend to hit their target that means they just hit shields. The javelin throwers however miss, hitting people beind the shield-bearers and horses rather than their rider

I'm not sure about javelins but throwing axes with maxed throwing skills does anywhere from 700-1100 damage to the front gates on castles. Can get through them before your battering ram makes it halfway. Also more ways to max, using max horse skill and others. Charging full speed on horse at gate and throwing axe will increase speed of axe therefor damage it does.

Javelins are absolutely broken off of horseback, and are more efficient than bows and crossbows early game for lower skill. Nice vid, as always.

How about a pike wall playthrough? It is challenging at first, until you can get enough of your own pike recruits. Challenging with base Bannerlord, but an absolute cakewalk with RBM (Realistic Battle Mod).

Since last patch and the improvement of throw AI when commanding to advance, I tried this with wildlings and it's brutal. I am trying the same now with Aserai infantry plus the Faris and it also works wonders.

Thanks, now i am also doing my own javelin challenge. Using vanilla, only recruit non elite throwing units. Almost Battanian Wilding exclusive but in the event to replace casualty, i can only recruit or upgrade shield infantries.

this was on 1.2.1 but mlw is not updated to 1.2.1, had to do my own fix which caused some problems. Play it on 1.1.5 or wait until it gets updated to 1.2.1.

try a tavern mercenary troops only challenge then try a clan mercenary troops only (you would either start with some troops and attack a clan take prisoners and recruit or become mercenary by yourself follow around a mercenary party until they get in a fight join and enough kills to get a good amount of prisoner.

What are all the mods you use? I now want to do this in sandbox. Also, can you have kids ingame still if you disable the birth and death option? If I make 1 character OP in throwing, I don't want to lose them. I'll still have the battle death turned on, just not th3 aging death

Yeah, i was actually obsessed with javelins. I mean really i looked up everything on the internet. But nothing quite scratched the itche like bannerlord. Even chivalry 2 didnt compare. I threw so many javelins, eventually through peoples shields. And to see then fly was incredible. Then... they removed the insane force on ragdolls. And it snapped me out of it. Im sure i could find a mod to make it like the good ole days but im into spears now.

I did the ones that made Gormal's throwing better and picked the better captain perks on my brother since he had perks in one handed, two handed and polearm that gormal didn't.

Archery S tier Xbow A tier throwing B tier Throwing can be very deadly but requires more micro managing and perks to be good.

Drops from battle. The drop rate for better attributed gear seems to be improved in 1.2

The only melee all units could do was the melee mode of javs. (Except the player character, no melee at all)
