I can't imagine what kind of really clever green-screening, motion tracking and VFX were needed to make Macintosh Castle look as if it was just a bloke in front of a curtain in the studio surrounded by books. Someone needs to get Captain Disillusion on this.

yeah i thought they would go through previous versions of FM and get them in! I remember managing york city and signing henry at 36 on a free and he was amazing for me lol :)

I'm not an Arsenal fan, but you gotta love Ray Parlour. He scored a wonderful goal in the 2002 FA cup final and his anecdotes about his playing days are priceless!

Tony Adams was amazing. Had his demons but in his prime, his reading of the game was incredible. His goal against Everton assisted by Bould was ace.

If Adams existed in the modern era he would never be a legend, imagine a club captain missing games because he was arrested or playing and training while drunk or hungover, terrible professionalism

@@hegeliandianetik2009 he would struggle in the modern game being left one on one so often. Nigel winterburn barely crossed the halfway line so he had a lot of assistance in defending

you can use the actual stats from old versions of FM/CM... for the 1990s teams at least! :)

Ye don't think that would work, the way attribute distribution worked in the older games was far far different to the modern games. For instance, Shearer would have a maxed out attribute of 20 for dribbling (the same as Ronaldinho) because the mechanics of the older game engine required that as a stat for top strikers to function well in game. As great a player that Shearer was in real life, he was never at any point in his career beating two or three players with his dribbling ability

mentioned elsewhere in the comments but it might be more interesting to just use teams that did exist in some version of CM or FM? at least then the "generous" ratings would have some basis in the history of the game, even if the stats don't perfectly translate -- wouldn't be too hard to do Chelsea CM 1998, CM 03/04, FM12, FM21

Love the FM videos generally but having someone create stats for old players without telling us who they are or anything about the process of choosing the stats at all and then disagreeing with them all is a bit of a strange format for a video for me. Why has Viera got better stats than Henry? Don't really get it.

ok penalty taking and freekick taking for henry is 14 ????? WHAT only 15 strength ??? the man shrugged off some of the toughest defenders in one of the toughest eras of football !!!! give him a bit more credit ffs and 12 ...... 12 passing the man has the record for most goals AND assists in a season he was an unreal passer of the ball .
