It was watching Crossroads on tv that I was "introduced" to Robert Cray. What an amazing musician and songwriter! It's funny... my last name is also Cray (but I'm white). Once, a long time ago, a co-worker, trying to be funny, asked me if I was related to Robert Cray. Yeah - I wish! I might score free tickets once in a while. But I have never lost my interest in his particular talent! Amazing!!!

I had the good fortune to meet Robert Cray last March, as I was tapped to be his driver for a concert in Minneapolis. A great performance by Robert and his band (not this lineup), and this was his encore song. I told him my friends call me 'Jimmy', and he did, sitting in the front of my vehicle. We enjoyed a bit of Freddie King enroute, and I was left with the impression of a down to earth, humble individual. I"ll never forget!
