Thank you ! This 1 tip made a huge change in my forehand as I am a flat hitter with some top. One of the few coaches if any have talked about this very important instructional tip. Love your 2 handed backhand video it has also helped alot.

Thank you so much for this video! I have been wanting to know why I wasn't getting topspin consistently, but now I understand why. It was definitely my follow through. By following your advice, my forehand has dramatically improved!

4:05 This instructor is absolutely right about Jack Sock. I saw him play up close at the 2016 Citi Open in DC. Sock hit forehands exactly like this instructor is describing.

great video. Very close to Oscar Wagner's idea. He said pull backward for huge spin. Counter-intuitive but true. I don't know why these ideas are underrated. And the tip of the racket is down makes you engage the whole arm for the stroke. Thank you. Keep posting more tips.

Hi coach, for practise purposes, which ball should i buy? the tournament ball or the wilson trainer?
@JJVee4274 жыл бұрын
Isn't the title heavily miss titled? You do finish up most of the time, the point you're trying to make was the racquet lag + use of the wrist+ shoulder turn to generate spin

Excellent lesson, but I don't agree with one part of looking at it: The movement after hitting the ball doesn't influence the shot at all anymore. It's the movement before and while hitting the ball that matters. The movement after hitting is just the natural consequence of the movement before hitting since it will carry the acceleration through. And for heavy topspin its key to rotate the wrist around as much as possible before hitting the ball. This way one uses 2 dimensions of acceleration instead of only 1 when only brushing up with the arm swing. Same goes for the serve, where even all 3 dimensions are used to create maximum racket acceleration for insane serve power. So focus on getting the movement before hitting the ball right and then use the swing path as a check if you did it right. Don't focus on the swing through after the shot itsself as a means to an end. Hope this helps.

I was always taught up but over your shoulder.. but nice tip
@Rshen115 жыл бұрын
@Tennisfreak54 exactly.. just finish up is not enough like he said.. at least if you over your shoulder it forces you turn your raquet at a little and make spin..then it's just raquet acceleration.. like you said

You should play a kid at your tennis club and try to beat him with a frying pan, that would be really fun to watch. Great content!
