Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when... we decided to make a miniature version of the western air temple?
It's been a long time coming that I would make something from ATLA considering how much of an impact it has had on my life.

"which was completely unnecessary" i strongly disagree. sky bison murals are ALWAYS necessary

Hahaha totally agree with you there, but the one I painted here didn't even end up on the final miniature, so technically it was a little unnecessary! Still included it in the end though, so maybe you're right lol!

I just watched studson studio's build on howl's moving castle and i was thinking "what if someone were to build atla's upside down air temple" and as I scrolled through his comment section i came across your channel and the exact build i was thinking of :0. I just wanna say your build is really impressive. I love all the details you put into the temple and cliff and little sculptures. i literally just came here lol but i'm really inspired to work on a miniature version of the frog's house in travelling frog(game) or maybe Arrietty's little house under the floorboards :D
@MechanicalFiend

Hahaha I honestly can't believe you could say this was impressive after watching Studson's build, that's on another level! Appreciate it so so much though, glad to know a little bit of serendipity was working in our favor! Super cool projects, hope you get to do one (or both) of them in the future! I did a tiny piece of Arrietty's bedroom a bit ago- that whole house is just so beautiful~

This is completely rad as always, I especially love using the lack of shelf space as inspiration to create an iconic upside-down world. I hope for your sake you get to work on a smaller project next because they are always so impressive, from giant house on a cliff to a tiny borrowers bedroom in a cookie tin. Seeing you work on projects from media that clearly means so much to you is just the icing on top of your incredible builds because you can truly tell in the attention to details and beautifully done editing. I think you've done the show more than justice with this, sincerely a long time avatar fan and new but enthusiastic MechanicalFiend fan.

Kinda always say this, but I seriously don't think I would finish projects if I was making things that I wasn't passionate about. Ahh seriously, thank you that is all far far too kind, always so happy you could enjoy! And yeah really want to do a smaller project next lol the problem is all the projects I have on the list are... big of course. So I'm still not really sure what to do tbh haha, we'll see?

Once again coming trough with the tastes, the crafting AND editing skills!!! That was literally so cool and beautful I'm in love~ I must say Avatar Tlab is one of the most inspiring and breathtaking series I've seen in my life! But also one of my biggest disapointment since the moment I discovered in my childhood that there actually was no books even though the series is organised with books... My book-thirsty 9 years old was cryyyiiiiing :)
@MechanicalFiend
@MechanicalFiend 2 жыл бұрын
Haha well technically there are some related books now! Comics from after the series and I think there are a few actual books too. Either way, the show tells the story so well that part of me doesn't want it to be in any other format (we saw what they did to the movie lol). Thank you as always for all the nice words, so happy you could enjoy everything~

This is great. A great tip I have learned is, when using sand/dirt, if you spray it with isopropyl alchohol and then use a dropper to drip diluted glue over it, it really sets everything without clumping up the sand.

08:21 I knit. This past year, I added to the insanity by unplying my yarn. I use the thinnest needles I can find, even using florists' wire where necessary - but using sock yarn that is labeled as SUPERFINE, it's prehhhhhhtty gosh-dern thin, but made from twisting 3-5 thinner yarns -- like a cable suspension bridge, the wire cables have much more strength when they are twisted, layered, and twisted some more. Well, taking the yarn apart not only leaves me with insanely thin yarn, but insanely frail yarn, too-boot! And, it takes a lonnnnnng time to do - and, lots get broken because of how weak it becomes. So, ya, I feel ya when you spoke about unravelling to get the effect you need for this project.
@MechanicalFiend
@MechanicalFiend 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the individual strands can definitely be pretty fragile on their own, that's why I tend to only use them for aesthetic purposes rather than functional haha. Totally feel your pain though, sounds like your yarn is a ton thinner, which I can only imagine is super difficult to work with. Wish you well with all your future knitting and yarn unraveling, I am with you my friend!

The details! The details! You’re killing me with the details, and I love it. Amazing job as always. I’m not even into crafting, but I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole, and I can’t get up. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite crafting channels. The quality of your videos, the intro, the editing, and the final shots always blow me away. I appreciate the extra mile you go to make these videos visually enjoyable. Also my favorite Avatar character has to be Toph, although I do love Iroh’s love for tea. And I think I would be an earth bender.

Haha I think I'm also killing myself a little with the details, honestly still feeling iffy about if I was detailed enough with this project for some reason, so thank you for saying that. Always happy to hear you could enjoy everything! Ahhh great choices though, I love Toph so much, definitely related to her in a lot of ways haha. Thank you for all the super nice words my friend~

I am required to learn how to make mockups in interior design school but also want to do this as a hobby. I always had the idea that I needed expensive materials and equipment to pursue this but now I know better. This shit rocks keep it up!
@MechanicalFiend

Really glad to hear that, I honestly struggled with that for a while too and kinda thought what I was doing couldn't be considered "real model making" because of the materials I was using lol. So I'm always so happy to hear this could help other people that maybe can't sink that kind of money to start. Hope you do, sounds like it would go along really well with what you're studying!
