Chris, as a general rule, I typically let all paint and (especially) rattle cans sit in warm 70 degree water for ten minutes before use. It will thin viscosity and help it atomize properly. Give it a try. Hope it helps!

I have a titan 115 as well and love it. spraying lacquer is perfect but I have found spraying latex to be a bit of a challenge....but today I went in to my both and switched to a 5 needle set and that made the finish and atomization some much better. I had never tried it before, so thanks.

Hey Chris, just wondering, could a product like this Titan Capspray 115 be useful for spraying interior walls and ceilings in areas that require a lot of masking when using an airless, and use a spray shield instead? Cheers pal. Charles

Good video! I'm currently in the market for a new HVLP System. I have a question about thinning latex paint for using in an HVLP sprayer. I have run into so many differing opinions. Even paint manufacturers warn you to not thin with water. In your video you used M1 extender and thinned your paint 15%. On the video there was an ad for XIM. On the XIM label it says to only add up to 1 1/2 oz per Qt. Is it ok to use 5 oz (15%) per Qt of M1 or XIM or more without adding water depending on the viscosity of the paint? In the Capspray 115 manual it recommends thinning latex to a viscosity of 30 to 35. Depending on the paint, that is a lot more than 15%. How far can you really go, some say 25% max? It would awesome if you made a short video on the do's and don'ts of thinning latex. Thanks...

Wouldnt it be easier to use normal gun and aircompressor? Like for spraying cars?

For the DIYer you can easily build your own "identical" HVLP unit for less than half the cost. Wont post it here but with a bit of research you can find the exact 6 stage motor being used for $230 and build your own enclosure. Then just purchase the hose and gun of your chose since most of these connections are universal. Total Cost ~$500-550.

I use an airless mostly for spraying bit recently purchased a flexspray with the fine finish head I feel like the flexspray could handle this job also with less over spray and less material waste what's your opinion.

i used a $10 hvlp sprayer from Harbor Freight and it worked very well at 60 psi with thinned Rustoleum flat black. UPDATE: I just bought a new one to replace the 2-year old one and it even works better than the old one. Ten bux ($10) and you're in business. I was spraying at 30-40 psi with the new one and it was moving paint like mad. They are virtually disposable at this price, but I got a couple years (light) use out of the first one.

It is not a "pressure pot", it is a siphon pot.

I know it is a exterior natural ventilation and a very focused spray pattern but wouldn't a MASK be a good idea with both of you working. Think about it. Your spraying chemicals. I am absolutely sure the paint manufacturer would recommend it.

These tips clog way too easy. So many factors go in to getting a flawless finish. I stopped using mine. Airless for 90 percent of my stuff. This fence. For sure hvlp. Doors and cabinets. Nope
