I have never had loose grips in all my 50+ yrs of riding. I guess I have been lucky. I found this helpful should I ever need too. Thanks Dino

Honestly, these are the first for me in a long time. I may still need to add something stronger as an adhesive. Thankyou for the comment. Dino

I really appreciate your channel. Saving up to get a dr650 as my first motorcycle sometime next year, and it's great to see someone in the same area with some great knowledge on exactly what I'm looking for!

Hey, good luck with your new upcoming ride, the DR can be a great first bike and can do almost anything you want a motorcycle to do. Always like to hear from others in the Niagara Region, where abouts are you located? Dino

@@DinosTinkerShed Just outside of the Niagara region in Burlington. Took me a bit by surprise when you mentioned going for rides throughout Ontario. Keep up the great content!

Good information, good technique and a clear video Dino. That will certainly help people tighten the grips and look neat. I agree the wire locking pliers make the twisted wire look professional. ( Yes the pliers are not very expensive and are a " must have" in any DIY workshop).

Great vid! I rode a 1981 honda CR80 as a kid on the farm .I grew into it and after a few years i had managed to ride that thing everywhere right up until my first car.I still have that bike but it has not been touched for years.thanks for reminding me of all the fun i had back then. Best regards from the empire of dirt down in southwestern Ont.

Thank you for the comment, you should get that old Cr out and make a project out of it. Fun and powerful little rides. Dino

I have always had trouble with off road grips staying put. Not all of them but a lot of them. We wire tied them or even glued them in place. It looks like i really need some wire tie pliers! I have never seen them used. I like them! Thanks Dino great video as always!

Thank you for the comment, the plyers really do work nice, I don't use them often but its fun to bust them out . Dino

This is well explained, thanks Dino. In the 15 years of riding bikes I've never had any grips move at all, even on the MX bike where there's a lót of movement with the hands. I can't imagine this being necessary on a road going bike! Might this be a function of the handlebar/grip combination?

Thank you for the comment, yes I really think it is the knurling that is causing me issues. I too have never needed this on a road bike before but of course it is a $42.00 bar so perhaps the diameter is a bit small? Dino

If you wanted to be all fancy-pants, you could do all 4 sets of loops with a single wire...? Then you're just left with a single tail-end? 🤔

Heey Dino, great video! We were recently looking for a video on safety wiring grips but yours is by far the best we've seen yet (and that's without even counting the squirrel 🐿️ footage!). Looking forward to your next video😁 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♂️

I'm assuming you're refering to your wife's hairspray, Dino? 😊 I stopped riding after I lost all my hair... Coincidence?? 🤷

LOL, no I actually had to buy some Eric, helmets can cause hair loss I am told lol. Dino

Cool to know how to do safety wire but hairspray is not glue. The old man always used some type of glue and we never had a problem. Save the hairspray for your hair.

LOL, honestly, never had any issues before with hair spray, but you may be correct, although I don't really have enough hair to use any on. Thank you again for the comment. Dino
