Children’s brains are just developing. Social media is not what they should be on. I feel like these kids posting on social media without talent just want to be famous and popular and like changing themselves for others. Stop changing yourself for others. Be yourself. Also they should be careful with the people they hang around. Bad influences = crime being committed

I love that Sophie is still aware of her 10 year old self, and protecting her. That is indicative of advanced healing and I'm so happy for her that she's been able to address and deal with her inner child and the work around that. May it be so for all of us. 🙏❤

Parents: Do not give your kids a smartphone until they are close to being adults. You have no idea what they are watching when you are not around. Also, if you buy them a phone and allow them to take it to school, guess what? They'll be on their phones for a good portion of the day.

Genetics loads the gun...Society pulls the trigger...When I developed my eating disorder it was in the early 2000s and it was triggered by pressure at school and going on a diet and magazines just made it worse. Today, it's social media that makes it worse, but it's important to know that social media is not the reason for eating disorders. Eating disorders are a symptom of a bigger problem that someone is dealing with. Social media exasperates it, but it's not the reason.

i am saddened by all teens today the way they process life its, heartbreaking .. searching for happiness yet in all the wrong places and activities .. you are loved but you dont freel loved ..they turn to things all teens turned to in past but the streets even the work places have far worse humans .. im just sad ... value yourself .. first find the right path i mean having two drinks after work on a friday or saturday is quite different from substance abuse ...just so sad i wish i could savethem all i watch adults and teens doing wrong .. abusing drunks .. not valuing yourself ...

No one has to be on social media. No way I would allow my daughter to have a smart phone until she was at least 16.

yes but you also have to realise how isolated it would make her from her peers in school. My mother did the same, I am grateful to her but I am 21 now and I have never had friends. In school people would avoid talking to me as I was oblivious of new trends or shows, new web series, whixh celebrity they were crushing blah blah. By the time I was in college, I tried opening a social media and follow trends but people on those platforms seemed too stupid and aggressive so I had to leave everything. The people in my college seem used to it and they only want to be acquaintance with me, not freinds. I have accepted that my entire life is going to be lonely but I also understand how avoiding social media has made me a kinder person.

This is good news. It's a parents responsibility to foster healthy communication with their children. Be present and positive, and they will want to do the same. Great work, Larissa.

Just stay off the phone. You are the person using the phone, the phone is not going to use you. If you're looking for peer recognition then it's better if it's done through the school. You're not addicted to social media, you're addicted to your phone. You ever heard your parents/teacher yell at you "Pay attention!"? Focus on what's in front of you and not your phone. The feeds are programmed, there are people running businesses on social media, and it's also used for marketing. You're all kids and you're mistakening it with your own identities. If you have role models and people you want to look up to that's great but it doesn't make much sense to have hurt feelings over things you don't have to even look at. Get off the phone.

Hopefully every young person who reads this, comes to understand, they do NOT have to, give over their own confidence, to jerk(s)!!! Individuals who are ‘mean’ do not deserve the upper hand in gaining from situations, whereby they exist, to try to deplete the self esteem of another/others. Hopefully the young people understand and retain the knowledge of keeping the company/friends of (good/decent hearted humans). Hopefully. Also be great, if faith in God, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit, would be their guiding light. Too much toxicity online, on the internet.

"Lead with curiousity, ask them what really excites you about the digital world. Show me, cuz I have no idea what a FOR YOU page is," says the 20-someting year old who has no idea what it's like to be a mother. I say, don't give them access to social media until they're out of high school. That's the way to keep your kids safe. Yeah. they'll see it at their friend's but you can tell the kid's parents to keep that in mind, too. We're way too lenient and liberal. That's the biggest issue.

This was not a bad video - but it spreads no awareness about tiktok and how it is literally autodownloaded on people's phones. It is used a lot in the youth community and fully comprised of non-stop, varied genre and flashy videos. The teens mention "reels" "mostly funny tiktok videos" and "instagram body image". But I don't get the amnesia over when the curly-haired young woman said 'I use tijtok to fall asleep'. I don't get how that is supposed to be good platform if used for >one hour and everyday. But, we digress... I use it too as a young adult. Something i observed is that there seems to be all these cultures and subcultures i'm surrounded by by my age group as a result of the app and it's trends and values, these days. I'm not sure it's always good, hope i don't experience the indirect impact. All our minds should have a confident and active forefront - cause young, growing minds are all like sponges.

They didn't answer the 1st Woman's question... Fail... As a Parent, I nvr gave my Kids tht much freedom. They had 2 earn it; we kept tabs on their activities. Schoolwrk & Bible Studies all week, Games & other tech on wknds & holidays ONLY, and IF they did all their chores. Plus, we made sure they had friends visiting & going out weekly, along w/othr Parents & responsible Adults. Today, they r doing well & no tech-addictions 4 thm & plenty of In-Person relationships. Loved thm too much 2 let thm b molded by ths sick, stupid world. We fought HARD 2 help thm be happy, responsible independent Citizens.
