Потрясающее устройство. Никогда раньше подобного не видел. А исполнение- китайская шарманка :))). однажды мне в ремонт принесли маленький телевизор китайский, гда все детали, вплоть до строчной развертки и транзисторов были самодельные!!!!

Cool score on the 8track back in the day my father used to swear LLoyds electronics were a decent value ? I was also A cool guy back in those days because my Dad had a Pana sonic stereo in our living room that allowed you to record onto 8 track tapes ! Ironically i have a pretty large family with many of them have music talents recently a 8track was discovered with some studio demo recordings I transferred from a cassette to the 8track in order to make it easier to listen to. Because everyone had the players every where you went lol a small amount of research i did via Google Turned up that the Lloyds brand was pretty much a rebranded Name used on many items as a marketing tool to make it sound more American made ? I had a old digital flip clock radio that the clock mechanism quit working but the radio continued going for 30 years It eventually became our garage shop radio where many hours of music was enjoyed by myself and my father working on numerous projects in that shop i think part of the good sound quality. Many of those things had was from a decent speaker or speakers being installed ? My first digital calculator was also branded Lloyds and still works on AC power only it has the blue LEDs N was a very expensive Christmas present back in the early 70s it was a portable unit as it could run on batteries also it was a fancy one back the due to the blue color numbers and the memory feature it had. Built in ? I laugh Now as those are features built into eve the cheap calculators these days as i bought a super inexpensive solar powered one For my toolbox just to have one handy on construction sites where i worked

Thanks for sharing Craig. For hobby fun playing with these older technology is fun and rewarding when you get it working again. I have and iPod there the back button would working and just had to put it in the trash. At least I can work on old 8 tracks and old radios for fun and to enjoy old songs I still have on tape. Even on Pandora I can't find a lot of the songs I link or at least not when want to enjoy them. I loved those 1970's calculators. I used to spend hours reading and learning about calculators from Sears catalogs and technology magazines in the school library in the day. I couldn't get enough and when computers started to become available I was beyond infatuated as you can imagine. I still have and work on my Apple II and C64. I have videos on my channel on two old calculators and some one my Apple II Plus. Rust on the battery contacts is easy, batteries leaked at some time and the nickel coating has corroded off there. You can see they made a lot of these, with the mould wearing so they had to put in the cardboard spacers to keep the screws from breaking the mould halves. Could do to replace the larger electrolytics, they are over 40 years old, and probably the ESR is a little high, though all they will do there is add hum and reduce low frequency response as they age. Mains capacitor though is probably a good idea to replace with a new one, double the likely 470-1000uF 16V one they put in there, put in a 2200uF 25V one, and it will reduce the wow quite a bit. Then strip out the mechanism and change the belt, the old square one there likely is going to fail soon as it gets used again.

So true, I should take a poke at replacing caps as I do run it on mains mainly. Sound great right now however. Where on earth would I find a replacement belt? Easy enough to change if I know I have a NOS belt I guess. Thanks.

Just use a generic belt that's the same size or slightly smaller.

12voltvids has a good tip to slightly shrink belt by boiling belt in water for 15 mins. in microwave.

the head holder thing is always broken. the only solution I've found to even slightly work is to tie it up with wire wrap (30 awg). but that is for extreme cases where the head is flopping around and can't align properly. been considering 3d printing a replacement whenever I get a 3d printer.

I have a 3D printer. Maybe I'll try that.

Looks like you can adjust that set screw THROUGH the hole in the disc, at least from the camera angle you have :D

Can i fix a cracked head mount using one from another 8 track player? Can't seem to find them for sale Or is glue the best solution?
@ToddFun
@ToddFun 3 жыл бұрын
If you have the broken one you might be able to get a local high school to take on the project of CAD-ing up a 3D printed one out of PVC. Or do it yourself and upload to a side where someone can print it for you and send you the print.

Nice playing unit for a garage. Sad how much space the tapes take up compared to just plugging in my iPhone to the DeWalt Radio and running Pandora.

8 track, blues brothers, I think I heard pot in there...I'll pick up a lid just in case. Wait...what? No no no...not 2021. Take me back please you don't know how terrible it is. Well sure make some leaps forward but nothing like the commercials or news reels we're shown. Nope...no flying cars yet. I KNOW EVEN OUR CARTOONS LIED. Speaking of ...CARTOONS SUCK WAY MORE IN 2021. Somehow mankind ends up using technology to make the world suck far worse than you could imagine.
