Hello Michael! I don't know whether this is the right place to write this but I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your work. I got my TOEFL results about 10 minutes ago, 117/120 (R: 29, L: 29, S:29, W:30). I had roughly 10 days to prepare and your Writing and Speaking templates and workshops were literal lifesavers. I've also found the "You should read more" collection on your website really useful when preparing for the exam

@@Toeflresources I am preparing *hopefully* to restart my academic career this year, this time abroad. I have also taken the SAT (1360) and I have applied to several universities around Europe, unfortunately I cannot afford college in the US or Canada as much as I would have wanted to go there

Thanks for this video, it has truly helped me a lot. However, I still notice that I find it hard to come up with answers for the first question. For example, in the 15 seconds we have to think about the answer, sometimes I cannot come up with the supporting reasons for my opinion. Also, I find it hard to stop overthinking the answer, I guess I am indecisive.

Consider watching my video about how to come up with ideas for the independent essay. Perhaps it will help to narrow your focus to those four quadrants.

Hi Michel, Thanks for this channel. How many words should we say in response to the question 2 in the speaking task?

I don't really have a recommended word count but I guess you can just count the words in my sample responses over here: www.toeflresources.com/speaking-section/toefl-speaking-samples/

Hi there, I hope you’re doing great. I was wondering if it is ok to use the same opening statements for both task 1 and 2. For instance, personally I oppose the conception and I can asset two reasons for my attitude (task 1) and the woman oppose the idea and assets two reasons for her attitude, or it might decrease the score due to the repeated words? as if I know limited vocabularies? I mean in overall scoring. I hope I made my point correctly. Thanks for insightful videos by the way.

It is okay. Every question is scored in total isolation. Usually by a different person altogether.

Thanks, Michael. How do the scores convert to 30? If there are no half scores, do we have just 0, 7.5, 15, 22.5, and 30?
@Toeflresources
@Toeflresources 10 ай бұрын
Keep in mind that there are fractional scores due to the SpeechRater. Do you get what I mean? The human gives each answer a whole number score, but the SpeechRater uses fractions. Therefore, they can convert to any number from 0 to 30.
