Sry it’s my first true😂😂 I am using some of ur samples but m trying While a lot of people favor traditional workplace arrangements, I really believe that working from home is a perfect idea. Most of us feel quite comfortable when we perform our work from our home, and working from home provides us an opportunity to think creatively. This will surely nurture our capabilities, and hence, leads us to furnish our tasks efficiently. So, I believe this option is probably best for everyone. While at some point, performing our tasks from home make us confined and isolated. This will surely bound our knowledge within the walls of our home. As a result, our overall performances will dwindle slowly. Moreover, people who are working from home possess limited knowledge regarding their subject matters since they barely interact with their colleagues.

I strongly agree with Karen’s idea that remote work may affect our promotion chance and the relationship with colleagues. I’d add that remote work may relatively affect our health. Ronald raised the relevant point that remote work is more flexible and productive, but he didn’t mention that the disadvantages which long time of remote work will seriously weaken our health. A case in point, during the Covid period, I work all day long at my home. Sure, my schedule is more flexible as I don’t need get up early and commute. However, I felt extremely tired and exhausted every day. Because of remote work, I had to do everything with laptop such as meeting, communicate with my colleagues, and presentation. As a result, I suffer from eye fatigue.

I think this one would score about 20 points. Your arguments are good, but there are a lot of little grammar errors. You should have said: "affect our chance of getting a promotion" "and our relationships with colleagues" "may affect our health somewhat" (or something similar) Run your answer through something like Grammarly to get a complete list of errors.

Hi Michael! Thank you so much. And here is my response,I would really appreciate it if you could give me some feedback: From my perspective, negative effects that the remote work brings to us are more than positive influences. Firstly, no one is an isolated island so the relationship interpersonal is indispensable, especially the actual and physical connection. When people work in the company together, they can talk with each other face to face. Thus, this enhance the relationship as well as the cooperation among the colleagues. Apart from this, the remote work may not be very effective and efficient given that it largely depend on the technology. Once the connection is unstable or there is some technological problems, the process of work will be interrupted and thus, the quality of work would not be that high as they work in the physical company.

The article and lecture are both about the collapse of civilized Eastern Mediterranean region called Late Bronze Age Collapse. The author of the article refers to some theories directing the causes of these abrupt disruption while the lecturer disputes the claims presented in the article by challenging the validity of theories as the reasons are unconvincing to historian. According to the reading, the climate change followed by drought and famine has adversely affected their farming productions. Besides, natural disasters, including earthquake, has ruined the region. This specific argument is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that there is no reliable evidence showing unstable climate change as the earlier centuries. Additionally, he claims that in the case of natural disaster, all the regions would have been collapsed at once which is not the case. Secondly, the author suggests that the invasion of seafaring pirates, called sea people, is the reason for the ruin of these areas. In the article it is said that using their advanced sailing technology and military tactics, they invaded the coastal cities and weakened their military power. The lecturer, however, asserts that although the Pirates were dangerous, they were not coordinated and unique to be able to penetrate the regions and loot them. Finally, the author puts forth the idea that the weakness of political and economic systems has undermined the civilization. the author contends that the centralized emperors looted all the wealth and power of the region leading to a widespread dissatisfaction in the society which ended up with collapse of the society. In contrast, the lecturer’s stance is that such an approach had been always dominate in all ancient civilizations. She notes that all the nations had experienced this as a natural feature of most government for hundreds of years.

Your details are pretty good, but there are frequent grammar and language use issues. You should have said "the collapse of civilizations in the Eastern Mediterranean region called the Late Bronze Age Collapse" and "refers to some theories about the causes of this abrupt......" and : "climate change followed by...." (don't say "the climate change").

Hello! Thank you for uploading all the materials :) That really helps! If you have time, I'd be super happy if you could have a look at my text: The reading and the lecture are about the paradox of choice. While the author of the article argues that there are many advantages to having many options to choose from, the lecturer disputes the claims made in the article. He argues that having fewer options is a better choice. According to the reading, more options lead to less regret about the choice we have made. The article mentions that variety helps us find the perfect choice in terms of our needs and preferences. The lecturer challenges this argument. He claims that a greater variety of options is mentally taxing and takes time and effort, which leads to fatigue. He points out that this could even lead to reduced productivity. Secondly, the author argues that a large number of options promotes innovation and progress. The article points out that many options encourage us to look for new and better alternatives. Companies are forced to create innovative products in order to stay in the market. However, the lecturer argues that a greater number of options is the reason for more inferior products. He suggests having fewer choices but improving quality rather than quantity. Finally, the author argues that having more choices increases personal growth and development. The author argues that we then think more deeply about values and priorities and learn about ourselves. In his view, this leads to personal growth and development in self-awareness and decision-making. In contrast, the lecturer argues that the availability of many different options makes us lazy. The reason he gives is that we are less likely to see new alternatives.

Heeey Michael Thank you so much for this wonderful job. This is my answer, please give me feed back . The passage and the lecture are both about human settlement on the the moon. The writer believes that this is unattainable. The lecturer opposes the claims made in the article . He is of the opinion that obstacles to settle on the moon can be handled. To start with the writer posits that the moon lacks atmosphere which protect from radiation and meteorites. He goes further and says that there are no technologies currently to deal with this problem. The lecturer opposes this claim by suggesting the use of lunar soil as protection shields from radiation. He also suggests the use of underground habitat to overcome this challenge. Secondly, the writer states that scarcity of resources on the moon makes it incompatible with human life. Humans need water and plants to settle anywhere. In contrast, the professor challenges this by pointing to recent studies which proved that there is frozen water on the moon. He suggests extracting and utilizing this frozen water for oxygen production , rocks preparation and agricultural purposes. Lastly, it is mentioned in the passage that absence of social live on the moon can not be overlooked , because humans are social by inheritance . However, the lecturer rebuts this by suggesting the use of virtual communication to connect people to their beloved ones.He also implies the idea of establishing earth like habitats to help save mental health of settlers.

In my opinion, discussion-based classes play a pivotal role in boosting valuable hands-on skills. I strongly agree with Mike's idea that students get familiar with various assortments of perspectives when they discuss in the classroom. I'd add that students hone critical and analytical thinking while listening to fellow students' standpoints. This is because students are responsible to provide a new opinion which is not expressed previously. Specifically, they listen to other students' viewpoints meticulously then promptly analyze them from various angles and finally come up with the most innovative solution. While Rachel raised the relevant point that lecture oriented classes give a sense of discipline, she did not mention that professors lead discussions as well so as to ensure pupils deal with the set agenda. Thank you in advance for providing valuable comments on my essay. Bests, Reyhane

While I appreciate the point mentioned by Mike and Rachel, I think that the best way to improve the learning experience is to have a combination of both lectures as well as discussions. Nowadays we have artificial intelligence which can help to get all the necessary information that we need but we still need to have discussions, share our perspectives, or learn from a different perspective which can mold our understanding in a way that helps us to retain the information and also help to understand the crystal clear concepts. Remember that if we choose any one way it will always have limitations but when we incorporate all different ideas, it can provide wholesome experience for students. Some people may feel that it can take a lot of time but I think if the students get a clear understanding after this then this is worth doing it this way.

In my opinion, there are many benefits to remote work. First, similar to what Ronald mentions, people may be more productive when working at home because they are not bothered by their coworkers. From my personal experience, I find myself studying more efficiently when I am not with my classmates. I would just keep chatting with others if I were surrounded by them. Second, working at home provides a flexible schedule and eliminates commute time, which can also contribute to productivity. Furthermore, remote work offers a good chance for parents who need to take care of their children while working at the same time. Considering these advantages, I support the idea of remote work. lAddressing a challenging topic I strongly agree with mike points of view that through discussions students can learn concepts is depth additionally I would like to emphasize that discussions enable students to explore and navigate concepts those which they have difficulties in. for instance the real reason that people do not like math sessions is that they cannot be actively engage through math classes. In fact if they were able to ask questions and be actively involved the sessions would be less boring and though. While Ann mentions significant point that lecture based classes are well organized I believe that this indeed method of teaching lake enthusiasm. To clarify if students cannot ask questions and express their thoughts they start losing interest and concentration which will eventuate into poor learning experience.

Hello Michael, thanks for your help. This is my response. I would be so happy if you rate mine. Both the lecturer and the author discuss if paradox of choice is beneficial to people or not. The lecturer believes that it is not beneficial, while the author says that people can benefit from paradox of choice. First of all, the author thinks that having numerous options increase the chance of finding useful products. If there are too many options that consumers can choose, at least one of them must meet our preferences. On the other hand, the lecturer points out that choosing a product from too many options is extremely exhausting. Additionally, too many options mean too much time to find the perfect product, so it is waste of time. Secondly, the author claims that too many options force companies to creating better products. If there are too many options, people mostly choose the best one. In this case, companies have to create better products, otherwise they cannot be able to sell their products. In contrast, the lecturer states that companies are likely to increase the number of products that they sell, instead of creating better products. It is because, the companies believe that they can sell and earn more in this way. Finally, the author posits that many options lead people to personal growth. People have to find out their priorities while they are trying to find the best option, and knowing their priorities forces people to personal growth. Conversely, the lecturer mentions that there are so many people who are lazy. These people do not change their minds while trying to find the best product, because they do not try. So that, these people cannot develop themselves due to the many options.

Mike, thanks to your material I was able to score 27 three years ago. I will take a new test soon and hopeful to hit that mark again. Please have a look at my first TOEFL writing exercise since 2021. I know there are typos and probably other punctuation mistakes, but curious to know how'd you rate it as is. In my opinion, I think that learning through discussions is much more beneficial to human beings overall. Dialogue employs language centers in the brain that improve both subjective skills triggered by speaking and objective skills enhanced by listening. Therfore, it is a better comprehensive learning method than the one-way lecture type. Additionally, I believe that an interactive environment would open opportunities to build better relationships with other students. With duscussing agreements and disagreemetns, and exploring different angles of one topic with one another comes stronger bonds. I have read researches suggesting that involving in meaningful conversations strengthens your emotional resilience and intelligence. This leads to a better mental health on the long run as well!

Thanks for your channel and website they are really helpful and complete! Here is my essay: The reading and the lecture are both about a concept called “paradox of choice”, this means having too many options to choose from. The author feels that this can have good consequences regarding finding the best fit for our needs and preferences, fostering innovation and progress within the offerents and promoting personal growth and development. On the other hand, the lecturer doesn’t believe that having too many options have positive consequences. First of all, the author states that having a vast array of products and services available to choose from can help us to find the best fit for our needs and preferences. According to the article, with a lot of options we are less likely to regret our decision. The lecturer challenges this argument. He claims that this complicates the decision-making process, making it exhausting as it requires more time and effort. Additionally, he points out that it can lead to a phenomenon called decision fatigue, that involves taking bad decisions and can even affect productivity. Secondly, the author suggests that having many different choices fosters innovation and progress. The article notes that it forces companies to differentiate themselves offering new and better alternatives. The lecturer, however, asserts that in this way companies focus on having a variety options, rather on the quality of them. He goes on to say that this hinder progress as it results in mediocre and poor quality products and services. Finally, the author puts forth the idea that having many options available contributes to our personal growth and development. The author contends that it makes us learn from ourselves by being aware of our values and priorities in the decision-making process. In contrast, the lecturer stance is that many options may increase our complacency and laziness. He says that eventually people get tired of finding new and better alternatives, affecting our job’s and personal life’s decisions.

Hi Michel! Thank you very much for the video and for the help. I don't know if you're still responding to these comments, but here follows my answer to this question. Thanks again! Both options have real advantages, but I am convinced that interactive classes are way better for students. I strongly agree with Mike's option that in these kind of activities you understand things in a more profound manner. I would add that you put your thoughts to the test when you argue with someone. While Rachel raised the relevant point that lectures have a clearer structure, she did not mention that passively listening could lead to forgetfulness. For example, when you watch a movie you may understand the story, but a week latter you already forgot some important details about it. In a academic perspective, this might represent important facts that you would be missing when answering a test.

Paradox choice happens when people have too many options. Some individuals believe that this is beneficial in spite of causing anxiety and indecision. However, the lecture refutes the advantages of the paradox choice statement in the reading by giving its perspective. The first advantage, people can find the best option that fulfills their needs when several options are presented to them. The lecture exposes that consumers expend a considerable amount of hours in making a decision. Then, they will experience mental fatigue and a decrease in productivity, so the right decision might not be made. This rebuts the passage since the best option would not be selected. Moreover, competition among businesses leads to the development of the choices available. In contrast, rival companies reduce the quality of their products in order to sell them, so no improvement will be seen. Instead, cheap and poor-quality products will be produced to attract consumers. Hence, innovation will not occur as the author suggested. Finally, the opportunity for personal growth arises when individuals find themselves with multiple choices. Conversely, the professor asserts that people might get lazy since they already have one option and will not change it. They probably will not look for a better alternative, so they would not enhance their character as the passage implies. To summarize, the lecture finds flaws in the advantages of paradox choice since they do not present improvements to society.
