You guys requested me to share some of my summer must-haves, so here it is! You can get all these items at Tokyu Hands, and I seriously wouldn't be able to spend a whole summer in Japan without these. If you are living here or are traveling here, make sure to pick up some of them so you can stay cool and comfortable in this crazy heat and humidity!
I recommend Tokyu Hands stores in Shibuya or Shinjuku because they are HUGE and the selection is great, I don't recommend the Ginza store as much because it's very small and has very limited products but they have many locations all over Japan!
Tokyu Hands Shibuya: 150-0002 Tokyo, Shibuya, Udagawacho, 12-18
Tokyu Hands Shinjuku: 151-8580 Tokyo, Shibuya, Sendagaya, 5-24-2 タイムズスクエアビル (Times Square Building)
List of items:
1. Foldable UV umbrella: about 2000-3500Yen (the one I have is 2200Yen)
2. Fan: the mini one with envelop is 500Yen
3. Thermos bottle: the one I have is 2680Yen
4. Cooling arm cover (especially useful for driving): 1800Yen
5. Cooling necktie/towel: 600Yen
6. UV protection clothing: price varies (3-way coverup: 1300Yen, UV black scarf: 1200Yen)
7. Frozen treats maker (the one I have is HapiMix, price: 1480Yen)
8. Bug repellent gadgets (200Yen for the hairband/bracelet type)
9. UV/heat gadgets: UV checker bracelet (1000Yen) & hat sweat-absorbing band (400Yen)
10. Skin whitening products for hyperpigmentation and acne scars: Melano CC (about 1000Yen), White Essence (2000Yen), HABA kit (2000Yen)

You are seriously my favourite KZfaqr right now. I especially love and appreciate your Top 10 videos because everything is just on point, no nonsense and fun too. I don't know if you're big on fashion but I would really love it if you did a top 10 fashion items in a Japanese clothing store or something. I would also really appreciate a stationery-focused top 10 video simply because I love Japanese stationery. Hehe. I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE PART 2 OF THIS VIDEO.

Thank you so much!! I've been waiting for this video! I've actually never been to a Tokyu Hands. I'll have to see if there's one near me, and if not, I'll definitely check one out the next time I'm in Tokyo! My personal summer must haves are 熱さまシート, which I just stick on my forehead at bedtime on really hot nights, and a cooling gel pillow that you keep in the freezer during the day. I prefer to keep mine near my feet or next to me rather than as a pillow, but it really helps a lot on those hot summer nights!

Also, I discovered you through your apartment hunt videos last year. Thanks!

Haha seems like a winter edition is requested by many people! I'll keep it in mind for when winter comes~ Yes insulation is horrible here.. although I feel like that's a common problem in Asia. I'm used to Canadian houses that have really good insulation which is necessary for -40 degree weather.. I noted your suggestion for future videos!!! Thank you!

KYAAAAAA another awesome video! I might have just binge watched your recent uploads xD Thanks for doing this vid for Tokyu Hands! I Prob mentioned this before, but i lived right in Shinjuku during my trip in Japan and didn't go to this store! Much regrets T_T My mom would have loved all the UV gadgets! She was looking for the uv sleeves and umbrella. Those sleeves work really well for driving but the ones we have dont come with the cooling effect. And if I'm not mistaken, this store also carries craft supplies which is like heaven for me xD but next time!! I def will make a trip there with ur handy list of items to buy ^^

Hi YuYu! You just blew my mind. I haven't been to TokyoHands yet and after hearing about all these cool products it's a must visit when I go back later this year. I'm extremely pale so UV and sunlight destroy me. I look like a tomato in the summer. I could never find some of these products in the Bay. I'm about to stock up when I'm there. And the fan as a postcard ideal is a spectacular ideal. Though I have to figure out the post office system in Japan for shipping cards and boxes lol. Unless you have a how to video coming up hehe

I've noticed that products in Japan change by season, but are usually about the same for the same season of different years, so you'll find about the same things as mentioned in this video. Otherwise check out my monthly faves, those are a good way for me to introduce good new items without having to do a theme-specific video :)

Very useful tips as usual, Tokiyuyu! I wonder though, since I'll be landing in Osaka first, can I find Tokyu Hands stores in Osaka (even better if it's near Dotonbori area)? If not, can you please advise which stores have most of the items you mentioned in the vid? Thanks!

Yes, there are Tokyu Hands stores everywhere in Japan. There's one near Dotonbori which is their Tokyu Hands Shinsaibashi branch. I've never been to that location personally but from what I can see, it seems like a big branch which should be pretty well stocked. However, do be careful that the items mentioned in this video are summer specific items. Although many of them will be available, they may be in areas and aisles not as obvious as shown in this video, so you might need to ask for help looking for them.

Yu, do they change all their range and not sell any summer products during winter? I plan to come during autumn but want to get some uv products in japan

Some of these items are available, but not as easy to find and may be in different sections. I recommend you have pictures of the items and ask store clerks for help - many of them speak English in Tokyo stores

thank you for showing amazing place and products! cant wait to get some of them for my mum during my first time visit in tokyo this Sep :) just a little request if you dont mind, it would be great if there is a bit of clue about prices when the products were shown so that people who travel on budget may plan ahead accordingly :) or perhaps give us a chance to see the price tickets on the shelves when filming? so that we get a general idea about the price range or roughly how much they may cost. Cheers!

Price added :) I only mostly put the prices for the items I actually showed since the price range can be big for certain things.

Hi! I am such a huge fan of the country Japan 🇯🇵, anime and your KZfaq channel! I wanted to ask, but what made you inspired to make and do this type of channel?
@TokiYuYu

I mentioned briefly in my Q&A, but first I just wanted to share my time in Japan, but since many family and friends ask me for shopping and travel recommendations, I thought it would be nice to do it in video format and share it with everybody, since I couldn't find much info on it myself - especially stores in Japan and what to buy.

TokiYuYu That's so cool that your family and friends inspired you to begin this type of channel. I really enjoy watching your video content and I hope that your channel grows bigger on KZfaq. Thank you for replying to my comment, this really excites me! 👍🏽💁🏽✌🏽👏🏽✨🎌🤞🏽

Extremely helpful videos. Just wanted to say that many merchants and businesses all over big cities like Tokyo and Osaka give away free fans with business logos. But again it defines they are selling a cheap why not buy them? I got a whole bunch of these corporate free fans from our recent trip to Japan

Haha yes I love the free fans! But I can't resist buying the mini one from Tokyo Hands cuz of Totoro and other cute designs! Plus the ones you buy have nicer patterns without an ad on it so it makes a better souvenir lol :P

agree!! one thing i really miss buying were the fancy "flat" umbrellas. No more luggage room. It means there's a reason to go back.

Do they have End of Season sale in Tokyo Malls? If there is, what month is it. So if we want to go for just shopping. Or they just sale randomly?
@TokiYuYu
@TokiYuYu 7 жыл бұрын
In my experience, usually August has sales for the summer stuff and March has sales for the winter stuff, but you can honestly find sales all year long randomly. Many brands usually have a sale section.
