There has to be more. We await the next chapter

I feel like mikey’s protectiveness does not entirely come from his love towards his friends. Mikey has a serious issue with his belongings, he loves his friends because they belong to him, he loves his toys because they belong to him. No one has the right to harm his stuff. He destroys his moped? So what it is his to break. He kills his friends? So what they are his to kill. From the very beginning he tells takemichi that now he is “his” friend. After he saves kazutora he tells him that he belongs to “him”. He even tells inui that he doesn’t have any right to take takemichi from him since mikey “found him first”. This issue has been brought up many times before but I agree I think that we still need more explanation for his behavior to be more understandable

I must be among the few who still trust Wakui, Senju's flashback is clearly not the origin of Mikey's dark impulses as she herself said she didn't remember all the details

This whole "return to the past to save Mikey" arc shouldn't have been made. The manga should've ended when he was with everyone in the future. And then when Takamichi finds out what happened to Mikey, instead of going back into the past it should've had him try to save Mikey in the present. I feel like that would've made for a more interesting arc

Aside from the obvious issue with Mikey's dark impulses, my biggest grime was how they ended the kisaki story. The huge mystery of how he always seems a step ahead of takemichi and whether he's also a time traveler ends with a cliffhanger that is never resolved. I'm not even mad that his motivation boils down to fighting over a girl, but the fact that all relevance of his character, motivations, actions completely disappeared when he died

I’m going to assume that this isn’t the origin and she just doesn’t remember what the hell happened…cause if not, this might be one of the biggest flops ever.

Tbh Tokyo Revengers lost me in the moment when Takemichi decided " Hmm let's risk more lifes and 96% perfect future for one selfish guy who can explode and kill in any minute for as we seen even stupid reasons" I like moment in hospital when he accept fact that what he did was uber selfish... But still omfg I hate that decision, maybe like I in hate-love with "Dark Impulses" motive. For me is it good motive, but executed meh, bad, or even horribly. And I think "the toy moment" wasn't t origin of Mikey's DI, and when true origin gonna be revealed, Senju gonna throw away her "guilt"... and only for that author give us that flashback of her, only for build it up.... I think so ¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯

The latest chapter was pretty bad, hopefully there’s more to the story since we only saw fragments of what actually happened. Although I don’t think wakui can completely fix it since it was revealed that mikey always had this dark impulse instead of developing it due to losing his sense of self after the deaths of the people closest to him died and I don’t agree with that decision tbh I feel like the story was always meant to continue after tenjiku with mikey becoming a villain since it was forshadowed and his character felt that it had much more to explore and wasn’t complete

I read this last chapter and my only take away is "This isn't where it came from, we'll find out later". also remember, that is SENJU'S perspective. The REAL answer for Mikey's dark impulses will be revealed when we get MIKEY'S perspective and get inside his mind as to when the dark impulse was born, IF it happened at all. We also have to remember that it's very possible that Mikey has a mental issue that's always been there, manifesting itself as dark impulses. Anyway, I only saw this chapter as Senju blaming herself for what happened.

I highly doubt the author wanted the toy plane to be the origin of his dark impulses, I think he made that incident to show Mikey has had it for the longest time. What the actual origin is will shake up the whole story if he decides to show it....or maybe Mikey was just born that way

This series fell off so hard for me when they revealed Kisaki's motivation for everything was just simping 💀. I just can't take it seriously anymore, though I'll still read it to see where it all ends up.

When I'm reading this arc it always feels like I'm reading a sequel to the manga. There is a huge disconnection between the previous arcs and this one,big reason is that the main goal of the story and the main antagonist are different.

I didn’t see this as “the origins” of Mickey’s impulses. To me, he had always this darkness within him. In all the timelines he just snaps. Senju FEEL she’s responsible, but she was just a kid.

I mean this is just from her prospective and belief that she is the cause of all this. Least that's what I'm hoping for. Honestly I'm just being to hopeful at this point cause these last two arcs have been "eeeeeh"

I don't even think it's that bad, it's more like to show that Mikey always had dark impulses and a toy plane breaking triggered them, he's a child, you can't expect children to be reasonable and mature + Mikey was always shown to be weak mentally. Dark impulses could even be a thing that everyone has and certain weak willed people just succumb to. People are judging this way too prematurely

The thing that really annoyed me throughout the entire series is that whenever they introduced a new character out of nowhere they just claimed that the character was always there and everyone knows him/her... like when someone mentions a completely new character someone else starts telling his/her whole backstory as if everyone knew it smh

Honestly Takemichi going back to "save" Mikey after he managed to safe basically the rest of Toman was pointless and greedy of him. Mikey didn't want to be saved at that point, he left because he knew what he was would ruin everyone around him(Which is wild to me because Mikey exhibits every sociopathic tendency you can find in the books) and he decides to leave and do his own thing, leaving mostly everyone else out of it. But they were alive. Takemichi can't handle the set not being complete so he goes and gets his dumb self basically killed to try and "save" him. Why? Your friends are alive, Mikey is alive but unreachable. Sure he's doing huge crime but he's alive and everyone else is doing wonderfully. At this point in the story Mikey has outright lost his heart(Draken) and doesn't even kind of remember telling Takemichi to scold him for doing bad things, or if he does, he doesn't care anymore because Takemichi can't fight. Mikey is the definition of a lost cause now, but because Takemichi is basically locked in the past until he somehow gets through to Mikey, the only thing he can do is keep trying, probably ending up with himself and Mikey being the only two survivors in this whole thing, so all in all the most bleak future possible. Edit: I forgot to mention that I seriously doubt that the plane getting broken was the source or cause, it's more likely that it was when Mikey first awakened to his extremely violent and sociopathic side. It's most likely that Mikey is just born different, a straight-up demon with built-in murderous intent and that plane getting broken was one of if not the first time he was upset enough to snap and let it all go. Who knows, but reading the chapter the first time definitely had me scratching my head.

I never thought it was Doo Doo butt from the beginning. But I did expect more from it. I never saw it as peak fiction. Even in its “finest moments” I saw it as lacking. It had so much potential and the mangaka insists on underdelivering on all his setups and… just… what the hell bruh? It’s like if Isayama wrote the entire Attack on Titan manga like he wrote the final chapter.

There is no way that Mikey became dark just because a toy plane broke. It probably had do something with his parents because we know nothing about his parents.

My interpretation of the last chapter is, she THOUGHT… she was the reason for Mikey’s dark impulses because she caused something “bad” and then Mikey beat the crap out of her brother. But it’s later revealed that it was something else entirely, like he already had the dark impulse and something set him off and it JUST SO HAPPENED that senju broke the plane giving him a reason to release some anger. I’m HOPING that’s the case cuz if it started because of a plane ima b big mad

No way, I had the exact same thoughts about the series about what it does good and bad and also I never understood the huge amount of hate before the last chapter even dropped. But I'd like to tell 1 thing...Takemichi suddenly seeing future came out of no where... sure it did but after all it's a supernatural manga and manga never actually focused on the supernatural aspect much even before, like going in depth about it so I didn't had much problem when Takemichi started to see glimpses of the future.

The way they set up that scene reminded me of the episode from Arthur where he punched DW for breaking his airplane; I'm not sure if that event will be the definitive snap moment for Mikey as I believe there were more underlying issues, like Mikey being raised to be a badass, or how he was left with his siblings to their grandad, but we'll see if that holds up.

I think everyone’s reaction to this is extremely over reactive. This is from senju’s perspective. Remember she was VERY young when this happened, no more than 6 I would say. This is not the origin of Mikeys dark impulses. I think the clear childish nature of the situation confirms this. This is just what senju THINKS it is. This chapter essentially confirms that senju is still a child and realistically should not be fighting with the others but as she grew up in this environment it’s what she knows. I honestly believe mikey was born with the impulse, like a mental illness, then when takemitchy eventually finds out he will realise that mikey cannot be fixed, and the sheer realism and realisation that drakken died essentially for nothing will sink in. I honestly think that would be great writing. Either that or takemitchy will fix mikey either through plot armour or something else that the author decides. But I seriously wouldn’t get worked up about this chapter.

I think Tokyo revengers should’ve ended with Mikey being the villain, would’ve been a dark ending like no matter what time line he’s in, he’s always going to end in this future and would’ve been cool for Mikey to tell takemitchy that himself and also admitting he knew about time travel and takemitchy was his last hope to see how he could save himself but only saw him getting every he wanted which led him feeling hopeless and envious and just going back to “what he knows”

I wanna have a bit of hope and think that the whole plane thing is like something he got from his parents or the dark impulses came before but it was the first time Senju saw it and she thinks she triggered it... IDK man, if its not something like that, this is the most absurd thing since Kisaki's motives Also, Takemichy saw Kisaki proposing to Hina in the future when he fought him in ch 182

The story has just taken too much twists and has already gone back and forth way too much, I feel like some of us are just fed up with Mikey at this point

As far as the chapter with Senju goes, you have to keep in mind that she doesn’t truly know what happened. She was inside when it all went down. We still haven’t seen things from Sanzu’s perspective, nor have we seen anything from Mikey’s. Either Mikey just has some serious mental issues, and finally snapped, or something really bad happened to him when he was growing up which caused such outbursts. No one up and just physically scars their friend for life over a toy. He literally kicked over his own bike, then got upset because someone was trying to hurt what was “precious to him.” He didn’t mean the bike, he meant Baji of course. While yes, I get that Shinichiro spent a month making the model plane, still. He doesn’t seem like the type to cherish material things over his own friends and the people he loves. I honestly believe something just happened to the poor kid when he was younger, possibly even Sanzu and Izana too. That’s why Sanzu still sticks by Mikey’s side; they share the same trauma. I’m probably gonna get a lot of backlash for this, but how much do we really know about Shinichiro? Everyone always talks so highly of him, but why is it that Mikey doesn’t have as many stories to tell about his cool older brother who fixed up bikes? Why is it that he kept Izana a secret from Mikey for so long, yet Izana knew about him? Why is it that he kept the letters they’d been writing hidden away, while even Draken said he found it kind of creepy? Why is it that when talking to Takemichi about his living space, Mikey was quick to say that everything in it was Shinichiro’s “except for the bed?” Why was he making remarks about how “nice of a body” Baji had “for a kid?” Why did Mikey sleep with and tote around a towel? Was it just a comforting thing for him, or did it have some deeper meaning, just as the plane probably does? Why did he hurt Sanzu so bad? Was it because he felt as if he did such, he wouldn’t be allowed back over at the Sano’s, and that maybe he’d be able to “save him” from having to go through such too? While I just don’t see Shinichiro being that sort of person, the theory does have a bit of a point behind it, but I don’t feel like elaborating any further, as it makes me sick to think of.

For me it's just the gabage plot and writing overall. Show feels like it's written by an 8th grader. Maybe this came from a Novel idk. I also think people who enjoys this kinds of anime are fairly new to Anime 🤔. I'm just honestly bored with animes that's the only great thing about are the fight scene. Anime that make you feel like the story is "so serious" but it's just lazy writing without incredible animation and fights it's basically hot garbage.

That wasn't the origin of Mikey's impulses, that was just an instance of how long he's had them in him, and he only wigged out cause the plane was something his big brother spent a long time working on, and more than anyone else Mikey looked up to his brother, and having an idol like that can make people do crazy shit

I honestly feel like Tokyo revenges should’ve ended after Kisaki. Or how the broken ronin said that some things could’ve been tied up early on to create an end to some issues. Maybe the mangaka just wants to squeeze more out of this story not because it’s popular but because it’s their best work and they poured their heart and soul into it. I can see why someone would do that of course, but there are times where ya got to end something. This is one those times. And I’m hoping to god that Tokyo Revengers does manage to get a decent or good ending while managing to somewhat fix some mistakes or just do better from here on out. I’m hoping.

I agree, the story was so perfect till kisaki conclusion but this last Arc somewhat doesn't feel the same, I hope it doesn't get bad.

I think saying Mikey just beat that kid up is an understatement, he ripped his mouth apart with his bare hands and gave him Joker scars 💀 but yeah this is definitely just Senju’s assumption and it’s not gonna be fully correct or correct at all. This is like if people took Eren’s lies to Mikasa and Armin at the table scene as fact. Just because a character says something doesn’t mean that’s the truth of the matter. Gotta look into the nuance or who the character is and why they are saying what they are. For Senju she was young and felt guilty for lying so she blamed herself, even though she herself never saw or heard the full context. Gotta wait to see Mikey’s perspective or the other boy’s as to what really happened. People being outraged about this feels a little over the top honestly.

I personally think the plane isn't really significant, unlike South who was caught up in circumstances that led him to kill his father and became a phyco, Mickey who had a somewhat decent life who was already unhinged the plane/Mickey's anger just released those "Dark impulses" different circumstances can lead you down the same path Atleast that's what I personally think

I expected so much of such a good character that Kisaki apparented to be, to end up with a shitty motivation, I really don't think it was the author's intention at first it just seems he didn't know what to do as a conclusion for kisaki. well I still enjoyed a lot the past arcs and Im looking foward on the next arc even though it's a huge fell off...

last chapter was definitely a yikes, context is definitely going to be a big factor here for me. Let me hear that the toy's a gift from his unknown parents or it had some sort of insane personal meaning for whatever reason but not just a kid upset because his plain old toy got destroyed (this is also me coping btw) 😭

Kisaki is one of the worst antagonist i saw in my entire life. His motivations are so ridiculous. The downfall exactly began when we learned his motivations.

Takemitchi being able to see the future was hinted at when saw Kisaki proposing to Hina during their fight.

It was too repetitive for me. Like how many times are you going to the past? They were just making up dumb reasons. This might have been the manga that got me on a manhwa kick.

I think it is kind of weird that people are saying that the manga is ruined because of 1 chapter senju said that she didn't see everything that happened so there is probably more to this situation people are out here saying that a show fell from grace because of 1 chapter it just sounds like you weren't fans of the show in the first place have some faith in the author 1 bad chapter doesn't mean that the entire manga is bad

I think the problem is having to wait for the chapters, I'm going to wait until the end of the series to reread it in its entirety from the beginning, that helps.

I think that the chapter wants to show us that he already had them as a child, so surely something happened before or maybe something happened when Senju was not there. All this is from her point of view but Sanzu's point of view is still missing and why, despite what happened, he follows him. And Mikey. Also, I love Takemichi create his own gang (and I would love to see Taiju there, Hanma shows up or Kakucho)

There's for sure more, I feel like most people are just hating on the manga right now since there's been like 5 slow chapters in a row and I agree, but I feel like it's just all building up to finally wrap up. I do think that it could've ended sooner, after they finally got rid of Kisaki and saved everyone. But with how they're gathering everyone to prepare against Mikey, I know that it's going to be good enough to at least not have it be "The Worst New Gen" or "The Biggest Disappointment" etc. I guess I just feel that people are dropping it too fast since they like mindless fighting with no meaning and not understanding the context and not knowing how to infer the story.

As a ridiculously underwhelming as that chapter was, I wanna theorize that there's more situations that pushed Mikey's violent urges. The broken airplane was just a small seed that birthed his dark impulses, but there's probably gonna be more serious scenarios that'll perpetuate his violent behavior that lead to the current Mikey

I started reading the Tenjiku arc. Is it after that arc where people say it falls off or should I read further to get to Kisaki’s conclusion?

The fans need to chilllllll, since when did TR give us something as it is?? never TR has always been doing this, showing us something and later subverting our expectations by showing us different povs of the situation. Just like in the BD arc, the flashback that made us believe that Hakkai was protecting Yuzuha is the same flashback that made us later believe the opposite just by adding one extra panel to it. Wakui is definately hiding something from us now. There are a lot of things that don't make sense if you look closely into the chapter, Senju only saw the aftermath and remembers fragments of what she heard. For all that we know, Mikey might not have even been the one to do that to Haru ,and the plane could be nothing but a red herring. We shouldn't be that quick to judge. Sanzu's extreme loyalty to Mikey doesn't make sense if he was indeed beaten by him, and so is Baji's love and admiration towards him. We just have to wait and see how this will unfold.

Still excited for black dragons arc and tenjiku arc to get animated. IMO tenjiku was the peak of the story

I thought the same when I saw it for the first time but reading it again I realized something was a bit off. Mikey was confronting Sanzu and he was telling Sanzu to smile and with blood seeming from the corner of his mouth he smiles. There has to be more too it, Senju wasn't there when Mikey first confronted Sanzu so we don't know how or why it got to that point, but it really makes me wonder what happened in between.

I'm so sad about this, the anime was really good until Taiju's/Black Dragons arc, after that Izana's/Tenjiku arc was a hit or miss depending on the person and after that it just was completely awful, the anime was also super super bad because of the bad animation and censorship, truly sad what happened to Tokyo Revengers imo

Takemitchy seeing into the future could be his future memories coming to him. Glimpses of them at least since he said he can't remember his past that well but since he went back a little earlier than before, he might have a better, albeit still bad, memory. However, I cannot defend the source of Mikey's dark impulses

If the manga continued just because it was popular and because the anime released then in my opinion it's gonna go the bleach route and get convoluted due to the time aspect of the manga and with the waining interest from the author because of how it should have ended is going to ruin itself if this wasn't the case I want to see what author has up his sleeve.

I am gonna seem like a hater here and that is fine, but lets be honest the writing for this series has never been good and at times mediocre\bad but its written similar to a Korean drama where there is a lot of emotion, so people draw towards it. The issue with this is that because the series had to keep going for most likely the amount of money it brought in, the writing got worse since a whole new story had to essentially take place.

I am sure there is still a lot to unfold. From Kisaki's abrupt death, as he was about to say something when he was hit and Hanma's origin story, which was abruptly cut. I think Kisaki might still be alive or maybe Hanma is a time leaper. One of that has to be true.

while i will say that i would love to see wakui come back to this situation from either mikey or haru’s pov, to provide more detail on what actually happened, i also feel like this is a way of saying that violence has always been inside of mikey. and even the smallest thing could set it off. this might have just been the first situation where it caused him to seriously harm someone close to him and maybe more so than the origin of his dark impulses, this was the origin of him becoming extremely protective of the ones he loves? he saw that if he doesn’t keep himself in check he could potentially do it again. and despite trying his best, he still ended up losing so many people, which is probably why he pushed everyone away. cause he thought that either way, by being close to him, they will always end up getting hurt that being said, i feel like we’ll (hopefully) get a chapter from mikey’s pov where he explains what dark impulses are to him and then it should make more sense

I don’t know why people have a problem with this, I think it’s pretty clear that Senju is telling it from her own perspective, and shes just blaming the deaths of characters on herself, A child talkless of a grown person would obviously not become murderous from something like that, the author will eventually unveil wat truly happened, and if u don’t believe me think about this, South’s origin was narrated from the author and Mikey’s was from a characters perspective, maybe I’m stretching that a bit but I think we will definitely get the real origin later on

As a huge Tokyo revengers fan, this last arc is probably one of the worst arcs I've read

you roasting the fact the he went ape after a broken plane is understandable, I feel there is a little more sauce to that, I feel there was something A little more maybe has to do with the parents? as we only see shinichiro gramps and takeomi along with the younger siblings. there might have been a secret that is hidden that will soon unfold as we get a little more info probably going further not only in the past of mickey and senju but maybe shinichiro and the parents as well

Even if the story ends up making sence, every plotpoint in this arc feels like a story-writing after-thought.
