Old, yes. Good, no. I grew up in soviet union. The cars were really bad compared to the western ones for example. Reliability of the aircraft engines is low, the western ones need far less maintenance. So it costs more to run soviet stuff.

On that type of helicopter how id the body rotated to change heading? Can one rotor be braked?
@BazilRat
@BazilRat 4 жыл бұрын
@@caahacky I think they do it by changing the pitch of the blades, rather than the speed. If one rotor's taking a bigger 'bite' of the air, it'll apply more torque to the body than the other.
@planegaper
@planegaper 4 жыл бұрын
@@caahacky nope, they are geared to run at the same speed, there is a regular rudder system on the rear for when you are moving along, and rotor pitch " Rotational maneuvering, yaw control, is accomplished by increasing the collective pitch of one rotor and decreasing the collective pitch on the other. This causes a controlled dissymmetry of torque." , so effectively you are kind of correct, the load is increased on one rotor, thus affecting the fuselage , but the speed of the rotor is always constant.. don't ask me how this is done, probably through the pedals, and are linked with the rudder system.. Tomi would know what happen's up in the Swash plate..once the thing is moving forward , the rudder comes into the equation and and you have both systems working..thing's like a bloody mosquito..that kinda flying would fuck the rotor system on a 47, or a R44, for the 26? it's just Tues night..
