I’ve just watched three in a row- almost 8 hours worth. I find that I’m increasingly pulled OUT of “background mode” tapping < < to look at the occasionally relevant photos selected to accompany the story. Work is suffering, but I’m not complaining. I think I prefer these stories offered in a collection vs the short-attention-span versions. Good work, Ed!

To think that his dad has done basically every piece of maintanence on that Lamborghini himself over the course of 40+ years is amazing. I doubt there is anyone on the planet (even a Lamborghini factory trained service tech) who could buy a Sian and do all the work themselves without ever taking it to a dealer.

The story about how he respected Justin Bieber’s privacy, AND provided info to the police that helped his charges get dropped, speaks to his integrity. More Curated stories, please.

I'm sure most families have these stories of selling and regretting that sale. My grandfather bought 100 acres on the Las Vegas Strip for $4,000 in the 1950's. He sold a few months later after doubling his money and thus sold for $8,000. Prices are now 20-40 Million acre.

John has never told the story of what became of this car. Was it sent back to the factory, restored and painted verde? Who owns it now. It’s a shame because the real importance of this car lies in the fact that Ed owned it for almost 40 years and drove around in it daily. That coupled with it being on the song “Panama” from a record that sold 16 million copies is hugely relevant. Everything about this Miura has been veiled in secrecy. It seems that Ed liquidated his car collection when he knew his time was limited. It’s a shame some rich European has this car locked away where we’ll never see it again..I’m sure it sold for likely $2.25 million

Props to Springfield, MA. I live in the area now We have a few nice museums here with old cars, but, more importantly Indian motorcycles. This is where they were made. We got a ton of Indian motorcycle history here.

@Tucker Tower yea, we have a lot of that to, and corrupt police. I got picked up with a pack once, posession of 103 bag, it was thrown out though cause the lead DT was to corrupt to testify in court. I had to pay like a $200 court fine and got to walk.

For John's dad it's a miura sv, for my dad it was a first year Infiniti Q45. He kept that thing perfect. Didn't even really drive it after he got a Q50. I had a chuckle when he said dad's not rich by any means. But I respect that. My father came from a nothing town in the southeast, with a three digit population. He transcended the destiny laid out for him. And that Infiniti represented that in a way. I'm not a gearhead by any means but when a person has absolutely no interest in cars, it's hard to relate.

My favorite raconteur on Vinwiki by far. The story about the Miura SV and the auction house pretty much scamming him is my favorite story on here especially because of the outcome. Against all odds he still triumphed with greater success, selling the car to Lamborghini.

I had an older acquaintance that recently passed, however he had a Countach, and SLR Mclaren /Mercedes, an xj220 and a Ferrari 512bb. I have some pictures and some plate numbers but cannot seem to locate the cars on VINwiki. Any help would be appreciated

A little insight there, the end statement about the Jag 220 was a "tongue in cheek" suggestion to go buy Jag 220's NOW while theyre cheap (er), because they're going to appreciate... and he's right. Really good suggestion. If you're reading this, love cars and have the means to buy one, I also suggest the Jag 220's. They'll do nothing but appreciate over the next several decades, and unruly fast. NO one at the Card and Coffee is going to have one, but you, you make $50,000 for owning it, sell it off someday, and don't worry about what it's worth, 20 years after owning it. You got the experience of owning it, and turned a profit. You can't ask for much more than that.

Finally got round to listing, interesting however the FI Lamborghini has some holes. If this is the 4th place Monaco GP car it's the Lamborghini engined Larousse chassis driven by Bertrand Gachot (see livery). The Lamborghini chassis like the engines were designed by the ex Ferrari engineer

The Gallardo is named after a Spanish bull, built by Italians in a company owned by the Germans. There is no correct pronunciation. "Gayyardo" MAY be Spanish but that's the only Spanish thing about the car.

Auction owners/workers = thieves wearing rolexs....you are not the first person to get the shaft on the selling Time period,thats their way of Screwing sellers hardcore,they do it On Purpose.....what Really happened was either one of the auction people or one of their Butt buddies Wanted your car and Thats where the 1.7 mill offer was really coming from.....when you refused,thats when they decided to short time you as revenge...........................i totally felt your pain on the Miura story....was Glad to hear the happy ending.
