My name is Ben Wilmarth. Have you heard what the Pennsylvania Railroad T1 Trust is doing.? The “ Pennsy” T1 Trust is building a new T1-class 4-4-4-4 Duplex not only to be used for excursions and to show people what T1 Duplexes looked and sounded like, but also to break the record of LNER No. 4468 Mallard.

Good going Gettysburg, first you put a CN style number plate on a CP locomotive, and then you maintain if so poorly it suffers a backdraft.

Fun fact: mallard was supposed to go to Australia but couldn’t come due to the anniversary it could come so Scotsman was a substitute

SOU 722s boiler is now in the shops and the GSMR has plans to get her operational before 1702 boiler time expires

I know this is over 2 years old and not sure you will ever see this. Thank you for one of the best 2 videos on these breathtaking machines! I have subscribed and will be looking at all you have out there. The information is unbelievable, don’t know how you did it but am so glad you did and took the time to do so. I now am on a mission that I have to put this at the top of my bucket list to see some of these pieces of art in person. I must see them and touch them. If you are a train lover, these 2 videos will pull at your heart strings to see these masterpieces of the world. Great job and thank you very much. ♥️

I love it that you included 722 in your list! I’ve loved that engine since I was little. I will add that I recently heard that there are plans to have her running again by 2022 and they are even looking into boiler contractors as we speak. However, this is just an internet rumor and not official news.

I know why the cab was swarm with steam. If the water is low, a whistle in the cab blowed to get more water.

722 is being restored by the Gsmr again with a conversion to oil and estimated to be completed in 2026

Pretty cool video I got to video request ideas one can you make a video about Canadian Pacific 1246 and can you do more foreign locomotive videos like those in Great Britain and Japan

I won't be making any more additions to this series in the future, and I have plenty of other projects to work on, both for this year and in 2020. However, perhaps in the future I can make a post about those locomotives on Facebook. Thanks for the suggestions!

The 1218 was the number one entry on the proper list, and her segment can be viewed in part three of this series. Additionally, the 3985 was not officially retired at the time this was made, so we didn’t include it.

DID YOU KNOW THEAR IS A REPLICA OF THE 4070 BEYNG BUILD, when i tiped in Grand Trunk Western 4070 i found a picture of a locomotive in a work shop with a boiler and its driving wheels, SO THAT MUST BE A 4070 REPLICA

What you saw was the actual locomotive under restoration. There is no replica being built of the 4070.

Wasn't 1278 used at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic railroad for Steam in the valley in 2012?

What happened to 1278 should not have happened! Someone in that crew hated her or didn't like their job and cuz of lack of training or maintenance she blew her crown sheet. I've seen a lot of these trips different folks took and some one couldn't hear the wheezing of the air compressor or see a severe leak around the feed water heater, or knew how to replace a gauge or why one wasn't working, etc., etc. Ineptitude all around. Watch the short video taken 6-16-95 and Hot water Cold punishment. I cry for her every time I see them! According to the mechanics at the age of steam museum, cuz of all the damage and sitting she'll probably never run again. Sad end to Blount's pet engine!

You made reference to T&P #610 2-10-4 as once having been a part of SRR’s steam program, but you never mentioned that she was a part of the Freedom Train Program’s roster. In fact, you said that the Eastern states were handled by the Reading T1 and the Western states by the SP GS-4, never crediting the #610. Lastly, you left her off your list of retired steam excursion stars. How did that happen? Also, how did the SP&S miss making your list?

Everyone has their different opinions, some people didnt include T&P 610 on their list. Also, SP&S 700 was not retired from service after 2015, she just went down for her 1472 day inspection and rebuild.

If you're referring to the photo at the timestamp 8:53, that was taken in the TVRM's East Chattanooga Shops before she was donated to the city of Asheville, as we could not find a photo of her in the roundhouse. Our guess would be that her jacket is wearing a coat of primer.
