My guess on why Jason died: The Prophecy of Seven was never fulfilled. You see, Leo did make a promise to Calypso and yes, he died... but you know who also made a promise? Jason. In the Mark of Athena, Jason promises Piper he'd never leave for Rome without her. The prophecy was temporarily fulfilled until Leo came back to life. "An oath to keep a final breath" Either Leo or Jason HAD to die. It was inevitable. It was either Leo dying again or Jason dying. The prophecy is never wrong, and it can never go wrong because even if someone were to change the future, the prophecy has already foreseen that change being made.

Apophis is #1 no question about it. His very presence splintered reality into separate layers. If it weren’t for Isis and Horus using all of their powers Carter and Sadie would disintegrate. Carter said even at a weaken state that he could feel Apophis tearing apart his molecules coming apart. He fought Ra, Nut, Set, Bes, Bast, Nekbet, Isis, Horus, Sobek, and maybe I few I can’t remember and only was wounded by Ra 3 times. Also technically he’s not dead. He just can’t be in the mortal world. It is prophesied to devour Ra and destroy all of creation with him as the soul survivor with unlimited power. He is number one and that’s a fact.

Personally I think Chaos gets the number one spot because she's the goddess of nothingness, the goddess that started the world. All of the gods/monsters mentioned above are descended from her (maybe except for Egyptian and Norse). Other than that, this is a great ranking!

sorry for the correction but surt isn't a jotun, is a fire giant called muspell, the jotuns are ice giants and live in jotunheim, surt is muspellheim's lord and king of the fire giants

Nyx is number 1. In mythology, she was the mother of gaea, tarturus, erabus, Oceanus, and many others. She is the oldest being in mythology, husband of true chaos itself and the only one Zeus truly fears. She is only stupid because of plot armor.

I don't agree with Surt being part of the 3-way tie. He's powerful sure, but he isn't on the same level as Tartarus or Apophis, one killed a Titan and a Giant forever with ease, while the other took on just about every single god in Egyptian mythology and a lot of powerful magicians all at the same time and almost won. If Surt really was that powerful, he would have killed the Valkyries in an instant while they tried to defend Magnus long enough for him to rebind Fenris. Instead, he was stalled long enough for Fenris to be rebound, and then Magnus, who barely knew what he was doing with Jack at the time (Read the books if you don't know who Jack is because I'm not explaining it here), to send Surt back to the fire realm that I can't remember the name of.

According to Percy Jackson's Greek Gods, Kampê is the most fearsome and ferocious monster in all of Tartarus so that says alot about her.) 17. Alcyoneus 18. Polybotes 19. Orion 20. The Triumvirate. (I'm including Python and Nero's Demigods while ranking this at the bottom. The enemies ranked above this on the list are all much stronger than the Triumvirate. Here is the triumvirate's power in comparison to the main characters Caligula is as strong as if not weaker than Frank who is still a rookie compared to Nico Di Angelo, Annabeth, Thalia and Percy. Nero is as strong as mortal apollo with Godly bursts of Power. Nico and Percy have both proven to be stronger than most Olympians even if they were weaker in earlier books or had plot armour. Right now both of them are overpowered and can definitely lay out Nero considering Percy took out Alcyoneus's army all on his own. Lastly there is Commodus who is even weaker than the other two. There is just no way these three can rank above Hyperion who is around the same level as the big 3 or even Polybotes or Orion.)

In my opinion, Apophis is the most powerful, followed by Surt For Tartarus, i don’t really think he is above Gaea or Nyx, i just scale them as equal To scale gods imo, you have to watch how old they are and how rare are their equals in their family tree For example, Apophis is second being in the Egyptian Mythology behind noun, and is only equal to Ra, so the balance in the world depends on him at 50%, which is huge In Northen Myths, the first being is Ginnungagap, followed by Ymir and then Odin and his two brothers. Odin take the god’s king spot and represents balance But Surt, younger, became Odin’s counterpart, so i think it’s safe to put him 2 (equal to the third class of the tree, and the two class above only have 1 person soooo) For greeks, we have chaos, and then the balance is split in 5 : ouranos, gaea, tartarus, nyx and eros Eros is a bit different and for some people he is younger, so we have at least 25/25/25/25, may be safe to assume they are equal, even if they showed theirselves more or less If we continue that, then we can find Cronos, Giants,… The only thing i would love to see, is Rick Riordan feat all his universes on a last great story, by assuming Chaos, Ginnungagap and Noun are the same and unique person
