This list perfectly illustrates how AAA companies no longer take any risks whatsoever. Everything is either a sequel or a remake with barely any new IPs and even those are clearly inspired by other more successful titles. Plus neither graphics nor gameplay is anything we haven't seen before. No wonder people say this generation of gaming is stagnant.

I mostly agree it's been like this for a while definitely gotten much worse essentially every fantasy action adventure is a souls like now when we used to at least have some level of diversity within genres

I'm replaying Ghost of Tsushima at the moment and wondering why haven't we gotten anything similar to that lately. You know, a game with fluid and engaging combat even if it's not the hardest to master it makes for a refreshing pacing

@@Spn308 developers are mere footsoliders and it takes hundreds of them to make a game so "do better" might sound cool when you say it but it means nothing. There are companies to launch projects over many years budgeted in the millions in order to make a game. I unfortunately don't have that much after I pay rent. So my criticism is not on a developer who just did his job and collected his pay, it's on the decision makers and creators who no longer bother taking a shred of risks

@@syfqamr5216 it’s a little clunky at first, but once you get used to it the combat is really fun, the closest game I would compare it to out of those is probably nioh. It’s not hard like nioh but it controls somewhat similar, it’s also like always on sale on steam for very cheap, like 5ish dollars I think. I would highly recommend it

Where's GranBlue Fantasy Relink? Kinda shocked it's not here. It's got to be one of the best Action RPGS I've ever played of all time, let alone the year. And it's already breaking a bunch of records on Steam and become the #1 most played JRPG within just one week (right after MHWorld) For me personally, it's right up there with Monster Hunter World.

@@EAC23 i just don't have the money for it right now and honestly i'm most likely gonna get a steam deck and new switch before a ps5 but at some point in the next few years i'm gonna have to get a ps5 since devs will likely fully stop making their games for ps4 within the next few years a lot already have so likely wont be long before they all do, if only they had cloud gaming and i could just play ps5 games from the cloud

@@bandit_six5418 yeah so complex that they’re going to use AI to replace 90% of game developers because they did nothing but crying and whine, causing the entire process to be overly arbitrary and redundant, this all for political and personal reasons so yeah you’re right, what we see versus what we get is very different, but not for the reasons that they told you and you believed them for. if you wanna know really what’s wrong with our video games go and watch the video, created by the creator of fallout.

I haven't bought a PS5 yet, but all the games that came out and will come out this year, makes me want to. Stellar Blade, Dragons Dogma2 and FF7 remakes especially. On the other hand, I waited so long, maybe I can wait till the pro version comes 🤷♂

It breaks my heart to see Jake excited for it when the game has all the telltale signs of disappointment. Of course we need more pirate games 🏴☠️ but Ubisoft has the magic reverse midas touch - turning gold ideas into shit delivery. A “pirate” game where you essentially play as a ship… no boarding, no island exploration, no on foot combat, forced multiplayer, surprisingly bad animation, fetch quests, weirdly bad mouth movement for speech… it feels like a mobile game. I was excited for it when it was first announced I thought it was going to be more Black Flag, oh how wrong I was.

I am super stoked for Space Marine 2, mainly because my first ever foray into WH40K was Boltgun last year. Also, 18 of 20 in this list on PC makes me smile :D

They can’t make an exclusive game to save their lives! The 2 we got last year were just disappointing. One was a cash grab shit show and the 2nd was touted as the X Box savior and it just got lost in space. They have all the damn money in the world and can’t make good games. They do have some interesting titles for 2024 but I feel like out of those maybe 2or3 will be decent.

FF7 Rebirth and Stellar Blade are the big ones for me. Although Lost Soul Aside looks pretty cool too. Finally playing INTERmission right now and remembering how freaking fantastic FF7 Remake was. Can't wait for Rebirth.

Black Myth and Final Fantasy Rebirth are the games I am excited for, I know I'll have to wait to play Rebirth as I am a PC gamer and don't console game but hopefully next year I'll get to play it, but with my back log of games I am definitely good on the wait..lol
