Very wrong advice. I thought like you, despite being best performer I got fired twice. I lots hope and was crushed, became alcoholic and after suicide attempt, parents took me to village. After 2 yrs I settled down came back to job market begged and bribes HR to give me a job, it worked I got a position paying 20 lpa CTC for around 6 lakhs bribe. I stopped acting out, kept my superiority and my disdain for the garbage colleagues to myself, licked every ass that I could get. And I stopped working pretty soon, now I'm team lead in a new startup my CTC has jumped to 50lpa . Btw I got the HR jerk who exploited me at Oracle fired. Bitched about him after leaving my job at Oracle. With recordings he was so screwed prolly he had to pay the higherups for clean exit. The more you work and the better you work, the more you will be hated. Always inspire complacency. We are employees NOT naukar, will work exactly for 30% of the amount paid as anyways 70% is lost to taxes inflation etc etc. Getting the job done while keeping seniors happy and showing how your complacent and slipshod red taper attitude is making the company more munny keeps the C SUITE happy folks. Client isn't you goal, shareholders and C suites happiness is your goal as an employee

My advice to any youngster who has newly joined employment in IT after college - “Lay low for 6 months. You don’t need attention. Narcissists will take some time to show their true colours. Wait and observe everyone in the office, people who seem nice may not be so nice after all and people who are a little blunt could be nice people without social skills”.

Summary: 1. When starting a new job, you must recognize that you are not the hero but a supporting character, so focus on understanding the key players. 2. Avoid constantly boasting about past achievements when joining a new team, as people may lose interest, and it prevents them from accepting you. 3. Trying to make too many changes or suggestions early on can be detrimental. Before proposing radical ideas, take time to understand the existing processes and ecosystem. 4. Building good relationships with colleagues should be a top priority in the first six months, along with understanding the business and its dynamics. 5. After establishing rapport and understanding, focus on consistent performance to gain trust and credibility, allowing you to share ideas and suggestions for improvement.

Hahaha 😂 This are the most common mistakes that people make. Even I also did. Really a great topic fo discussion. Now a days I got the tatics it's better to be calm and silent when you join a new company and to analyse it's cultural and understand it's requirment then to act accordingly. Most of the time the mistakes we do is to think or adopt the previous organisation culture and make a start with a wrong f way. Every organisation have motto and different working culture so anyalizing it first then to adopt it is the key.

Completely agree with this statement as well, I have seen people try to change the process and show dominance on the first day without even trying to understand the local org culture , nevertheless they were displaced in very short time, Once you join a new company • Be patient and spend time understanding the local culture • Unlearn and learn , the methods you carry from your previous organization might be of no use • Don’t be biased in any manner and blend with people • Slowly try to push your methods and ideologies whenever needed only • Gain the trust !

Sometimes this is because of miscommunication from Higher ups and HRs. They say that you have to lead, manage etc. This makes the role itself artificially inflated than it is supposed to be. Accurate role assignment and communication is important otherwise such conflicts are inevitable.

I faced the second point when I told them choosing new technology but didnt forced them. But they took it negatively. Anyways I found out that the managment was immature themselves. They could have rejected suggestions very politely. If we are giving suggestions in a polite manner, its there responsibilty as well to reject suggestions polietly and appericiate the fact of improving the product! Demoralizing someone on very small mistakes creates a toxic culture in the company themselves
