Unhook the positive cable from the battery . Cover the post with a rag etc... so cable end can't jump back and touch the post .take jumper wire attach it to the cable end and the other end of the jumper wire to a ground ( not the battery ground ) Wait 20/25 minutes and re- hook the cable end to the positive battery post . Now insert key into the switch and turn on/ no start/run. Count the amount of chimes/ dings and then turn off and count the same amount of dings in ur head then pull key from switch . Re-peat this three more times and on the 4th start the car and let it warm up naturally . When normal and RPM goes back to normal idle , turn off and allow it to cool completely down . Now u can drive normally like always but make sure u get the car up to 65 mph for April. 10/20 miles and all codes and computer [ s ]

I heard those tensioners do that if you don't change the oil regularly you got to keep the oil change regularly sometimes change it before it's due because those tensioner are ran by oil pressure and if they get gummed up they do make the chain rattle so you got to keep the oil fresh in them

Yes this is true but mine rattled before i got the car so it was to late already... on top of that.. car broke down months ago so i it gone now. Brakedown was due to a oil problem aswel. The oil pump was clogged or broken in whole so i had no oil pressure anymore. So sad to see that car go. But hey nu i have a mk5 gti💪

Mike i had the same issue with drivetrain and a drive train fault workshop warning. I used to shut it down and restart and the fault would clear. Not exactly a fix but shows it is likely a sensitive algorithm for the sensor. I have not had the warning again for over 2 years and I noticed a new battery seemed to help. Im thinking a weak battery/alternator or bad earthing can trigger all types of codes and sensors.
@DutchMike
@DutchMike Жыл бұрын
Indeed a bad battery can trigger all sorts of fault codes.... but a new one can to if not properly installed.

I also have fault 02039. I find that when I switch off the engine and back on again, it clears the display. However I also have a vibration in the centre console area, which other owners say is the stepper motor going bad. Personally, I am going to change my stepper motor when I have the cash. Parts for the Toureg, here in Australia, are way over the top. Love the channel by the way :)

Thnx dude! So yeah when i shut down engine and start it again sometimes its gone. Funny thing is though someties it is enterly gone but when i git the brakes it comes to the dash and all is bad.... that is why i suspect a electronic problem. Also i don't feel any vibration. But i guess i am looking at a new steppen motor to when i have the cash. It's not australia here but still expensive haha. Thanks for the comment💪 love to see people from all over the world.✌

@@DutchMike Actually my fault 02039 happens when coming onto the brakes as well. If it wasn't for the vibration I wouldn't be too fussed about it ... funny thing is :) the vibration is more pronounced when the car is cold and only happens in the 70-90km range. I used your videos to help me decide if I should go ahead with purchasing my Toureg. I've had it a few weeks and it has some wear and tear issues [Brake rotors, bushes etc] and probably at the replace timing belt stage [260kms'] since I am not sure if it was replaced at the last service interval. Is is a great SUV, and I have no regrets in buying it, as I know once I get the wear and tear issues sorted it, it will last a long time with proper care and maintenance.

Wow man! I am honored and humbled at the same time. Thank for your trust in my channel. So okay now i know that the seppen motor has to be replaced for sure..... damn it haha. The car itself can be an expensive project with maintenence indeed but when in good working condition it is not only a beast but a very nice driving car sweet and smooth. So thanks again man for your trust in my channel! If you have anything you would like to see a video about let me know ok✌

@@DutchMike Any faults you have with the VCDS / VagCom software would be good to see. I have the software, and a few faults, apart from the 02039, I also have 026875, which seems simple enough to fix, otherwise mainly singe connection wiring issues in the convenience centre, which means broken / shorted wires. European cars in Australia are frowned upon by mechanics ... just too hard and too technical, they prefer the simple Japanese / US / Aussie brands. The VW is the third German car I've owned in succession, and I just love the engineering, and sure they all have maddening quirks, but The Toureg is a beast for sure, and the Audi 4.2 is such an awesome engine.

Well said. Yeah i guess the german cars are difficult.. however the upside is if you know the touareg you also the cayenne and the q7... so thats a upsude haha.

Gotta 07 V8 w/ 63,000 miles and been warned about the tensioners by an Audi mechanic. I asked why an 04 tensioner problem survived into my 07 model year? He just smiled and said, "Audi".

My '06 V8 with 172000km also makes the rattling noise when it is cold, but definitely less than yours...maybe for 2 seconds and I have not picked up the P1536 error code. How bad can it get before it needs to be fixed, or should I start planning to get it fixed?
@DutchMike
@DutchMike 3 жыл бұрын
Start planning for the fix and that will no be easy and if done by carshop not cheap. There are ways to do this witout the timingbelt come of but i am told that is even harder. As soon as you hear the rattling noise from the top of the engine it means the plastic where the chain is going over i broken. There is no need for a code to pop up! The code indicates that the whole thing is broken wich in your case is only the plastic ( so far). Eventually it will show the code but i reconmend replace ASAP.
