On the 17th of April 2020 we left marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :)
This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. We got the sailing- skills on our friends yacht 'Shalom' when we joined them on a trip from the Netherlands to Spain. / @sailingshalom . In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'. We left may 2018 and started vlogging from the beginning, we made 15 minute video's of our adventures, the nature and the many special people we met. We cooperated with OM to visit their projects and film them on our way. Since 19 of March we started with a daily vlog due to the corona situation. We plan to keep doing this the coming months.

@@sailingmessenger8125 Kdenkutook! :-) Hoewel ik zelfs onder water een walvis heb geaaid, heb ik nog nooit met dolfijnen gezwommen. Lijkt me ontzettend gaaf, als ik die beelden van jullie zo zie.

Ok, so I was thinking "The dolphins must be in the list....Ok so it is number 5...." And then you pull new footage even 10 times cooler out of the hat! Whats next? Did they wave and say "Thanks for all the fish!" when you left??!!

Hahaha I don't know if this can be ever beaten 😁 and I guess they are better at fishing then we 😉

Hey Guy! How do you mean? Tot not sail there at all? I think when you go in the right seasin, and just wait for the good wheater window there is no problem.

Ah I understand, yes. But coming from Holland, going to Portugal we had to pass this oceanic shelve somewhere..

@@sailingmessenger8125 I need to avoid big waves with my boat because he is more sensitive than your boat. I plan to make a long trip in 2023 to Gibraltar and perhaps over the Suez canal too. Your info is very practical and helpful. facebook.com/boat.atlantique.9

Yes you are right.. We called the country Israel because that's just the name that's always used in maps and on schools etc. We definately did not mean to make any political statement here. Sorry when it seemed like that. We do respect Palestinians, Israëli's, Druze and Christians alike. It is a very complicated and sad situation... The conflict there. We will try to picture that in a objective way in 1 of the vlogs as well. Thanks for the correction. We will try to choose our words carefully so we don't give people the idea that we chose a side. Because we didnt. Thanks for your message!
