My guy I found you about 4 years ago when I was researching prison. I had a felony theft without authorization over $5k from 2007 out of New Hampshire. I’ve been living in the Carolina’s on the run until just a couple years ago. I saved 10k hired a lawyer and he had it all dismissed without me even having to appear. It’s crazy I’ve been running for so long thinking I would have to turn myself in and I would be incarcerated until trial because I’m a flight risk. Nope! My lawyer appeared on my behalf I never even stepped foot in court. Now I’m free and clear. Been driving for almost 2 years. I have a really good job painting apartments. Everything’s great. Anyways I really appreciate the information it helped relieve my anxiety while I was saving money the whole time thinking I would at least be in jail for a few months and possibly a few years in prison

Definitely agree with everyone you mentioned, I was a barber, sometimes I never had to go to commissary, Fact 💯 2 Other kind of inmates not on your list that every1 takes care of are 1.. The Prison Tailor who can Hem your pants perfectly,Put pockets in your pants, Pockets in your Sweatshirt or a hoodie & 2 is the Prison Electrician.. He can fix anything, Radio,🎧,TV, Make Battery Pacts.. Etc.. Etc.. Great Video..💯 Salute 🫡

When I was in jail for 3 weeks I had $400 on my account. Everyone thought I had nothing. I made 2 phone calls , not wanting to talk to my loved ones from jail. I hated the prices both for phone and especially the off brand garbage in the commissary. I kept to myself, without being rude, served my time snd returned home.

Man, I didn't have much, but I was laundry man for a bit. Had a special mop bucket to do whites in. Cuz you know sending your whites out in facility laundry, they coming back dingy and yellow. Turns out I did pretty well for myself. Kept those whites crisp and them khakis fresh.

I actually had a tip the kitchen staff co.'s because I was a head cook and when I wanted to take something back to the block and they would let me go through with a minimal search and just for your information I was a head cook

Omg..... the part about not tipping your barber cracked me up 😂 I've never been in prison, but I'm been a cosmetologist now for 27 yrs and I can attest to the fact that if "I" just got done standing for 4 hrs straight rolling a spiral perm on some chicks long a** hair, and she doesn't tip me good ...I'd be sure the NEXT TIME (if there WERE a next time)...I'd be leaving that perm solution on a little extra long 😂

I had a young man that for $7 a week, he would wash all my whites with a little bleach and Tide. He would have my T-shirts on a hanger and my socks always came back snow white. He had no family that would look out for him and his girl was pregnant and couldn't send a penny. He mostly asked for Duplex cookies and soups and a bag of coffee. He was a cool little dude and he had about 6 or 7 clients. I really respected his hustle. This kid ran this laundry gig like a real business. Brings back memories, not all prison memories are bad.

I remember working in the kitchen when I did time here in the UK. When I 1st started there was an old timer who was in charge. He kept an eye on what was being stolen. Making sure it was shared fairly and also making sure no one took the piss and stole to much. He ended up being shipped out because they found the cut out of a female civilian workers trousers in his cell. Turns out the pervert was sniffing the crutch area When he left there was a power vacuum and people weren't sharing and stealing too much. They ruined it for everyone and the prison got extra strict about prisoners having access to the stores. I also offered some huge bloke a straightner in the showers. Thankfully he didn't want to know because he was a bully. Thankfully I turned my life around and haven't been in trouble since 2008

The Laundry guy for sure, the Sergeants clerk for moves, The Porters if your in a 3 and above or the hole, The Cook in the block, Carrier for sure.

The only person i every tipped was the laundry guy,and the vegetable guy ,and barber monthly they got a pack of cigarettes monthly but this was in prison not County.

ALWAYS TIP THE CO! At Stafford Creek Corrections Center, in Aberdeen, WA we had a CO got busted for bringin' in Tobacco. BUT, before that, I just got there, maybe a few wks in there from making down from a Close Custody joint, and being an Artist, needed my Art Curio Box. In WA state joints, you have to pay $10 bucks to the prison before you can possess ANY art supplies. AND it all must be stored in the box they give you. Just a big plastic bin. ANYWAYS, we had this CO on the payroll basically, and he hooked me up with some rapo's curio box during a cell search, just took it from him, engraved my DOC number onto it, then gave it to me, lolol... HELLA hooked it up. After a cell search on MY cell, Sergeant asked why I had a box with my DOC # when my property matrix didn't have it when I arrived. Just played it like idk, that's on your staff for not putting it down when I got there. Ended up having them add it to my property thinking they just missed it when they brought me through. Lol... So yeah, PAY THE CO's if they get down like that. I got hooked up

I never been to the pen but i been to jail 13 times, 6 different jails. And every jail ive been in it was $3.05 to make a 15 min call. But im on the west coast so it might be different here. Some jails used Securus and i dont remember what the other jails used.
