🔍 Today, we’re going to explore the top 8 probiotic foods you should eat regularly, plus important tips and information you should know about them.
🗒️ Probiotics are live microorganisms that are good for gut health, keeping gut flora in balance for healthy digestion and potentially boosting the immune system, improving metabolic control in type 2 diabetes, promoting mental health via the Gut-Brain Axis, and preventing diarrhea, relieving irritable bowel syndrome, and accelerating fat burning. The gut environment impacts all areas of health and well-being, from the belly to the brain, inflammation, and heart health.
Kefir is a fermented milk drink that contains a wide variety of probiotic strains that can improve digestion, boost the immune system, and reduce inflammation. It can also be made with non-dairy milk options like coconut or almond milk, making it a great choice for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan.
Sauerkraut is a fermented cabbage dish that is rich in vitamins C and K, and contains probiotics that can improve digestion and boost the immune system. It is also a good source of fiber, which can aid in digestion and help regulate blood sugar levels.
Kombucha is a fermented tea drink that contains probiotics and antioxidants that can improve gut health and reduce inflammation. It comes in a variety of flavors, making it a tasty and healthy alternative to sugary drinks.
Pickles are a fermented cucumber snack that is low in calories and high in probiotics, which can improve digestion and boost the immune system. They can be made with different vegetables like carrots or beets, providing a variety of probiotic-rich options.
Miso is a fermented soybean paste that is rich in probiotics and antioxidants, and has been linked to improved digestion, heart health, and reduced risk of certain cancers. It can be used as a flavoring agent in soups, marinades, and dressings, making it a versatile and flavorful addition to meals.
Tempeh is a fermented soybean cake that is rich in probiotics and nutrients, and has been linked to improved digestion, cognitive function, and reduced risk of heart disease. It is a good source of protein and can be used as a meat substitute in a variety of dishes, making it a great choice for vegetarians and vegans.
Yogurt is a fermented dairy product that is rich in probiotics and has been linked to improved digestion, heart health, and reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. It can be eaten plain or mixed with fruits and granola for a delicious and healthy breakfast or snack.
Kimchi is a fermented Korean dish made from cabbage and spices, which is rich in probiotics and has been linked to improved digestion, immune function, and reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It can also be made with other vegetables like radishes or cucumbers, providing a variety of probiotic-rich options.

@HeartDiseaseCode
@HeartDiseaseCode 10 ай бұрын
Consuming tempeh as part of a balanced diet can contribute to your vitamin K2 intake, supporting bone health and overall well-being. However, it's important to note that the amount of vitamin K2 in tempeh can vary based on factors like fermentation time and the specific bacterial strains involved. Additionally, other dietary sources of vitamin K2 include certain cheeses, natto (another fermented soy product), and animal products from grass-fed animals. As with any dietary consideration, it's beneficial to have a well-rounded and varied diet to ensure you are getting a broad spectrum of nutrients for optimal health. If you have specific dietary concerns or health conditions, consulting a registered dietitian or healthcare professional can provide personalized advice.

@HeartDiseaseCode 10 ай бұрын
Natto is a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans and is known for its unique texture, strong aroma, and numerous health benefits. It is a rich source of nutrients and contains several bioactive compounds that contribute to its potential health-promoting properties. Here are some benefits of consuming natto: Probiotics: Natto is a probiotic-rich food, containing beneficial bacteria that can support gut health by promoting a diverse and balanced gut microbiome. Vitamin K2: Natto is one of the best dietary sources of vitamin K2, a nutrient that plays a crucial role in bone health and calcium metabolism. Protein: Natto is a good source of plant-based protein, making it a valuable option for vegetarians and vegans to meet their protein needs. Nattokinase: Natto contains an enzyme called nattokinase, which may have potential cardiovascular benefits by supporting healthy blood flow and blood pressure. Isoflavones: Soybeans, the main ingredient in natto, contain isoflavones, which are known for their potential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. While natto offers many health benefits, it's essential to enjoy it as part of a balanced and varied diet that includes a wide range of nutrient-rich foods. As with any food, moderation is key, and individual responses to certain foods can vary. If you have specific health concerns or dietary considerations, it's a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional or a registered dietitian. They can provide personalized advice and help you incorporate natto and other nutrient-dense foods into your diet to support your overall health and well-being. Enjoy your daily natto, and here's to your good health!

TEMPEH.its like topu?
@HeartDiseaseCode
@HeartDiseaseCode 10 ай бұрын
Yes, tempeh is similar to tofu in that it is a soy-based product, but they are not exactly the same. Both tofu and tempeh are made from soybeans, but they go through different processes during production, resulting in different textures and flavors. Tofu is made from soy milk, which is curdled and pressed into a solid block. It has a smooth and soft texture and takes on the flavors of the ingredients it is cooked with. Tofu is commonly used in various dishes, both savory and sweet. On the other hand, tempeh is made by fermenting cooked soybeans with a specific type of mold. The fermentation process binds the soybeans together into a compact, firm cake. Tempeh has a nutty flavor and a firmer, chewier texture compared to tofu. It is often used in savory dishes and can be grilled, sautéed, or marinated. Both tofu and tempeh are nutritious plant-based protein sources and are popular choices for vegetarians and vegans. They are versatile ingredients that can be used in a variety of recipes, offering different textures and flavors to suit various culinary preferences.

The easiest way to control your blood sugar is not eating it. Yes, it's that simple. Don't eat sugar. How hard is that?
@Themata
@Themata Жыл бұрын
How Your Body Makes Glucose: It mainly comes from foods rich in carbohydrates, like bread, potatoes, and fruit. As you eat, food travels down your esophagus to your stomach. There, acids and enzymes break it down into tiny pieces. During that process, glucose is released. Your body is designed to keep the level of glucose in your blood constant. Beta cells in your pancreas monitor your blood sugar level every few seconds. When your blood glucose rises after you eat, the beta cells release insulin into your bloodstream. Insulin acts like a key, unlocking muscle, fat, and liver cells so glucose can get inside them.

As a matter of fact, I've lived entirely on meat and fish for the past thirty years, NO SUGAR. We need no fructose, which is contained mostly in table sugar and fruit, also if your in the USA, HFCS. We require no lactose and the only sugar we do require is glucose which our body makes on it's own from fat. It reqires four mg at any one time. A teaspoonful. That's all. Millions of people around the world get by without any form of fruit, vegetable, nuts or seeds most of their lives, as I do as well.

Miso!?
@HeartDiseaseCode
@HeartDiseaseCode 10 ай бұрын
Yes, miso is a traditional Japanese seasoning made from fermented soybeans, rice, barley, or other grains. It is commonly used in Japanese cuisine to add flavor to soups, stews, and various dishes. Miso has a salty and savory taste and is rich in umami, which is one of the five basic tastes along with sweet, sour, bitter, and salty. Miso is not only a flavorful ingredient but also offers some health benefits. As a fermented food, miso contains probiotics, which are beneficial bacteria that can support gut health. It is also a source of various nutrients, including protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Different types of miso can have varying flavors and colors, depending on the ingredients and the fermentation process used. Generally, miso paste becomes darker and stronger in flavor as it undergoes longer fermentation. When using miso, it is essential to avoid boiling it at high temperatures, as excessive heat can destroy the beneficial probiotics and reduce some of its nutritional benefits. Instead, miso is typically added at the end of cooking or used to make miso soup, where it is mixed with warm (but not boiling) water. Overall, miso is a versatile and flavorful ingredient that can enhance the taste of many dishes while also offering potential health benefits.

Wait a minute what about pickles?
@HeartDiseaseCode
@HeartDiseaseCode 10 ай бұрын
Pickles, particularly those that have been naturally fermented, can potentially provide some prebiotic benefits. Prebiotics are types of dietary fiber that serve as food for beneficial gut bacteria, helping them thrive and contribute to a healthy gut microbiome. Fermented foods like pickles can contain natural prebiotics that promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in your digestive system. However, not all pickles are created equal. The key is to look for pickles that have been traditionally fermented using salt and water rather than vinegar. Traditional fermentation encourages the growth of beneficial probiotic bacteria, which can positively impact gut health. Keep in mind that while pickles can contribute to a healthy gut, they should be part of a well-rounded diet that includes a variety of fiber-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes. A diverse and balanced diet is important for overall gut health and general well-being. If you enjoy pickles, incorporating them into your diet in moderation can be a tasty and potentially beneficial addition. As always, it's a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian for personalized advice based on your individual health goals and dietary preferences.

@toni4729
@toni4729 Жыл бұрын
I only recomend what we're made of, animal products. The fat our brains are made of, at least 60% of it. It also has 20% of cholesterol, neither of which can be found in vegetable matter. I find it astonishing that in the past forty years or so, red meat has been so seriously demonized when we're actually made of the stuff. It is the one thing that cannot harm us, unless it's putrid. Vegetables can and do make us sick, what's more, as they're now being fed by toxins things are getting far worse especially for the very young and old. One only has to see the damage Agent Orange did in a few years to Vietnam and is still doing today. It's horrific. Vegetables can't run away. They do howver have their own nasty forms of chemicals that are designed to defend. It never occures to people why they deveope such problems as arthritis and other awful painful diseases even during early years. Their last thought would go to vegetable matter but the drugs that frequently make us really sick are made from them.

@@patriciakapua7395 Well I certainly can't consume kimchi and am just a carnivore. That's the life I'm forced to live but I'm happy and healthy that way. Surprisingly you only need to eat animal foods but if you want to eat some vegetables, you're limited to the really taseless ones. I think you could eat white rice, lettuce, green beans, old potatoes as long as they're peeled because salicylates are really strong on the skins of all vegetables. Pears too, as long as they're peeled and ripe but they're no fun to peel. Some people can get away with peas as well, but take it easy.
