I don't need a million dollars a year $100k or $200k a year be enough for me to live off on for the rest of my life at least with $100k a year after taxes over here I'll get $71k a year and I could afford to invest in 20 starter up companies invest in 10% or 20% to make between $10k to $20k a year make $200k to $400k a year and invest in two REITs one pays dividends monthly and a second one pays dividends quarterly invest in 48 different properties rentals and commercial properties to make $24k monthly and quarterly then just relax for the rest of my life

Concluded 2023 with a 20% decline in the S&P 500, long-term investors find a promising entry into 2024. Noteworthy ETFs include: $VOO for S&P 500, $VTI for total US market, $QQQ for tech growth, and $SCHD for growth with dividends. Calculating my annual dividends, I'm thankful for $167k-attributing it to discipline and focus.

I would think that a major benefit of dividend investing is that calculating portfolio size needed is not relevant. We don't care about the value of the portfolio. We care about the sustainable income it pays. As you invest you can gradually see the income rise as you invest more and pull the retirement trigger when it's high enough regardless of the market sentiment.

Calculating the portfolio size needed is very relevant. - How else do you know how much to contribute?
@rogerwheelers4322
@rogerwheelers4322 4 ай бұрын
By calculating how much additional income the contributions produce and estimating how that income rises. the capital value will fluctuate up and down over time so the amount of income new additions give you varies. so capital value being high with a market yielding 2% is no worse for retirement than the same portfolio at a different timepoints where the capital value is half and so the yield is 4%. so long as the yield is sustainable in real terms the capital value being half does not matter. its the same income stream at a different moment of low market sentiment vs high market sentiment.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

As a beginner, educate yourself, Learn the basics of investing and the stock market. There are many resources available online, including books, articles, and online courses. It’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio across different stocks and sectors to minimize risk. I’ve heard of people accruing over $550k during recessions and inflation, its important to do your own research.

Refine Your Approach to Stock and Crypto Investment: This isn't about merely watching market fluctuations. It's about developing a deep understanding of true value and engaging in comprehensive fundamental analysis. Avoid the pitfalls of impulsive, high-risk trading. Lean on technical analysis, rather than being swayed by short-lived trends. True financial growth comes from making informed, value-driven choices, not just buying low. Elevate your investment journey with a focus on long-term, strategic trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 4.5 B,tc to a decent 27 B,tc in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

@@Johnsmoneyadventures well your model assumes continued dividend growth beyond a point that makes practical sense. This model assumes a stock that has a 4.45% dividend yield currently will continue to have the same dividend growth in the future in perpetuity that it has had to get to that point. This is faulty because it results in a dividend of 23% per year by year 20, which is clearly not sustainable. Currently the stock in the S&P 500 with the highest dividend yield is Altria Group at 9.2%, which is a stock that has gone down in value since its inception. How is T-Rowe Price going to give 23% dividends, while the stock also continues to increase in value, while also making a profit?
