Lloyd Doggett is 77 years old , not early 80s. It is important to know that Doggett has weathered multiple gerrymandering attempts by Republicans, he has moved districts and survived. He is beloved by people in Austin, his constituent services and community services are well known. My point is that he is not vulnerable to either Republicans or Democrats so his being the first to come out is not surprising. He’s well respected and as a member of the Progressive Caucus and nearly 30 years in the House he was chosen to do this. Also as his constituent (finally!) I couldn’t be more proud. His statement and words have been respectful and direct, it was perfect.

Doggett has weathered a lot more than the pathetic Biden campaign could ever bring, Republicans gave gerrymandered the area multiple times to get rid of him. I suspect he was chosen to do this because his district is very safe and he is beloved here in Austin (I am finally his constituent 😃). No DNC smear campaigns could take him out. I suspect he did this on behalf of the Progressive Caucus because he’s such a long standing congressman who is well respected. We know high ranking Democrats are always looking to blame Progressives, but I think they cant touch him.

Not holding a primary was kind of religious cult -ish. Even the way Obama intervened against Sanders was kind of religious cult -like. And setting up Hillary Clinton as the anointed one was pretty cultish as well. The Republicans are more democratic in their primary process than the Democrats are.

Why don't the Democrats just raise the Minimum Wage to a Living Wage of $25/Hr and just think of all of the increased SS/MC Tax Revenue. Congress Folks are stupid. They don't have to Tax the Rich, they can just take their Profits (Stock Buyback Money and Dividend Money) and redistribute them to the Working Class. They could also either do a $3 Raise every year until the Goal is reached and have a PPP like program for Businesses with less than 50 workers.

When the minimum wage is raised by 100%, the prices of food, rents, and other essentials will just be raised by 100%. So the new minimum wage will be worth exactly the same as the old. This isn't rocket surgery.

This is not an Issue of Workers Pay vs. the People who Eat at the Restaurants as always portrayed by Corporate Media. Americans are economically illiterate by design. McDonalds had $10.5 Billion in profits just in America last year and put half of that into Stock Buybacks and half into Dividends, that is where the money is not some partially livable wage.

McDonalds had $10.5 Billion in profits just in America last year and put half of that into Stock Buybacks and half into Dividends for Shareholders, that is where the money is not some partially livable wage.
