The entire film, I knew how badly Rooster wanted to follow the path to becoming his true self. He just never had the courage to go all the way, until Maverick showed him the way. That final scene, where Rooster has fully transitioned to becoming the beautiful asian woman he always knew he was, brought tears to my eyes. You go, Girl!

Interesting observation: in Top Gun, Maverick downed three bogies. In Top Gun: Maverick, he downs 2, which makes him an ace. Now, here’s the interesting fact: they all were done in an F-14!

pretty sure the reason they weren't able to eject is because the ejection safety was on, if you look at 12:00 and on the top of his head just in the middle, there is as little white switch that is up, that is the safety and when starting up, that is supposed to be moved to the left until it is all the way down.

Top Gun 3: Tom Cruise flies a spaceship, exploded reentering atmosphere, then walks into a bar. Throws a grenade up in the sky, takes out two enemy Su-75s.

The rare instance the sequel was as good if NOT BETTER than the original. Super job!!

Was brought back to 86 at the base theater watching it all over again. Saw so many great service movies while in the service, going from Rambo in basic training till my ETS with Heart Break ridge. Top Gun still on top with Maverick

If you look above the seat in the scene or Maverick tells rooster that's where the ejection handle is at. You could see that the little pin that is supposed to arm the ejection seat is not in

I got the feeling when Mav was lining the Tomcat up for the takeoff and bringing the engines to full power, the old 'Cat was telling him "I've got one good fight left in me. Let's go!" Then later on the Roosevelt's deck the battered old 'Cat cracked open one eye saying to all around "You should see the other two guys." Yeah, I was a surface sailor but have a deep respect and love for the F-14. Both times I sailed into Harm's Way we had Tomcats patrolling overhead, the same on the day after the 9/11 attacks.

Other than the SU-57, F-14, scramjet being CGI, all those dogfight scenes were the REAL thing. All in the F/A-18 Super Hornet F version (2 seater). if this movie doesn't win an Oscar for cinematography then the Academy committee are a bunch of idiots. The shots that they were able to get is just amazing. The actual Navy pilots with those maneuvers and and those were real G's that Tom Cruise and the actors were experiencing. You cannot fake that. I am just glad this movie got the amazing box office revenue that it deserved. A simple plot and they let the Super Hornet be the star of the show.

Cried at the theater, tearing up watching this clip too! Top Gun and Maverick are so intertwined with movie culture that it is like they are family! Now- IF we can get Tom to do a Risky Business 2 we'll be all set!

"All best dogfight scenes" and the first one is not even close to that :). But hey, I won't complain, the flight scenes in this movie are epic.

Some people think that seeing all of this takes away from The authorship. I think it causes us to salivate all the more and I want to see it again again. This is the most exciting real life action movie with authentic events that has ever been created. Salute to Tom Kruse for getting this sequel made with his commitment to live stunts and live action involvement. I know I will never be able to afford the ticket price to fly in any sort of the Airial planes that Tom and his trained actors did, and the reality of such an opportunity is not in my deck of cards. Now, this fellow, from way back in the early days of Taps, sort of commandeered the whole movie with his taking over the big guns in one scene. He seemed to be a supportive actor with an over abundant amount of the hormone testosterone on that day of filming. Now we all know that he still has that same amount of adrenaline and testosterone going strong. This movie "TOP GUN: MAVERICK" will become the world's most successful movie of all times. People will want to see it over and over again, many, many, times and that is a tribute for the movie of a lifetime. They will also want to buy the DVD to show to children and grandchildren and if alive watch it with family. Why you ask... because it is real and not fake. The undertaking of a lifetime by a person who could pull it off. From the opening scene at the theatre, with Mr. Cruse inviting the audience to sit back and enjoy a movie that they, the actors and Tom, made for our enjoyment to the very end, we are transposed to another world. Mr. Cruse becomes a person who is not in ego mode at all. Here is a person who likes to utilize technology to the ultimate on so many levels. The actors allow we the audience to at least see and feel some part of what it is like to fly a real bird like in the movie. Best Movie, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Supportive Team Actors, Best Director, Music well you don't even need it in this picture, there is absolutely nothing like it at all in the present universe. Hey, and to think that I took a few courses at the Scientology headquarters SCI way back in 1993. I found them informative without all of the hocus pocus that I hear these days. Reading the book "Dianetics" actually left me with a teaching I will always remember. If you arrive at a point in a book where you forget what you are reading, then just go to the word before you forgot, and look up that word or phrase in the dictionary. You probably do not understand that words definition. I have utilized that teaching tool and it certainly helps one to understand just what they are attempting to learn. If the software works, then by all means use it. Whatever has helped this person to get to the point of making great movies, well the person is all that matters. Period. Thank you, Tom and crew. Maverick takes a fantastic mature seat when he jumps out the window and is confronted by the daughter. Something that in Top Gun would be a funny thing with a child back then. The daughter delivers the line of a lifetime putting Maverick in the adult hot seat by commenting how not to break her heart. Absolutely riveting. The days of being happy go lucky and carefree without a care in the world are being dictated by a mature young woman, to a rather older and supposed to be, mature man. Superb writing and acting on every scene. As for this movie sequel, well it came together and, well, it just worked out that way, from the director, to producers, to writers, the entire support on the ground, film crew, everyone and anyone who worked on the set is to be thanked. Thumbs up... hey both hands up, bravo, standing ovation. One of a Kind. A third movie would be wonderful if it can be within this congruent form.

Just curious. Maverick did his proof of concept (with 2:15 on the clock) in a one seater plane. He aimed the bombs to target. So if the mission could be done like that, why did they need the 2 seaters planes and 2 extra planes? One plane to aim and one plane to drop bombs?

I'm not much on Tom Cruise much after I found out about the Scientology thing. And some other issues I have about him. But I do have to say that I do like this particular movie. The script, writing, editing, music, and acting was top notch.
