What he refers to as a "dumbbell reverse lunge" at 10:03 is what we used to call a BULGARIAN SPLIT SQUAT when I ran track in college.

@@IvI07V5T3R I agree, brother. In order to be considered a "lunge", there has to be some sort of repetitive "step" motion involved (either forward or backward.)

Could you please explain to me why doing an exercise as physically demanding as Eccentric Squats is after the athletes thrashed themselves and not at the beginning of the workout? Note - No sarcasm here just genuinely curious as to the reasoning behind this.

Is it not normal to lift after a warm up?
@omarabed7996
@omarabed7996 4 жыл бұрын
@@LarsTheSailorMan - It is 100% normal to lift after a warm-up. However, The variety of sprints and running/jumping movements is not a warm-up, it is the main part of the workout. With this logic, you are suggesting that the first 9 minutes of the video is a warm-up and the workout is simply, Eccentric heavy squats with two different variations of depth and weighted split squats finished with some core work.

Spoke to someone more educated than me and yes it safe to do. All the sprints, jumps and runs are not just warm ups but work well to activate muscles to perform heavy lifts safely. As they are professional athletes their capacity of work before fatiguing is much higher than someone like me so this makes perfect sense. #educateyoself haha
@overtimeathletes
@overtimeathletes 4 жыл бұрын
You want to place the highest neurological demanding and technical movements first. This isn't to say eccentric back squats don't fire up the nervous system but when performing technical movement proficiency drills you want to be as fresh as possible. Also they actually prepare the body for the resistance training for these athletes
