Ianto is really starting to shine in this season. They'll find out why the fandom loves him.

“Let’s all have sex!” That pretty much sums up Torchwood in four words. xD I’m glad they’re starting to like Ianto. He’s a lot more snarky in this season. The telephone scene between him, Tosh and Owen is always funny to watch.

Calvin has insisted it's 5 million years in the future twice now, hah. It's billion. New Earth is a product of the nostalgia industry, according to the Doctor. It was created about 10 years after the Earth blew up as a direct response to the fact that the 'home world' of humanity no longer existed. It wasn't billions of years later. 23 years later is 'New Earth' and 'Gridlock' was 30 years after that.

I started laughing when Aaron talked about spelling I kid's name "Bob" but pronouncing it "Aaron". I immediately flashed on the old Monty Python joke about that very thing: "It's spelled 'Throat-Warbler Mangrove', but it's pronounced 'Luxury Yacht.'"

I honestly completely forgot that this episode happened, so I guess the whole sleeper thing gets dropped forever afterwards. Too bad.

« He was so much more reserved before. » Well, slowly recovering from the trauma of losing his girlfriend throughout S1 would explain it. He had time to get better (and take on new responsibilities in the team) during S1 and S2.

"The End of the World" is 5Billion years from now; "Gridlock" takes place a few years later than that on the New Earth that 10 took Rose to in "New Earth", which takes place itself just a few years after TEotW. (The Face of Boe is described as being many millions, possibly billions of years old; (mild spoiler) he is likely, however, even older than that as his (Jack's) timeline is much longer than that as he exists across the breadth and scope of time/space via how long he time travels both as Jack and Boe. (Jack also loops back on his own timeline -- existing for protracted periods overlapping with "previous" versions of himself on different occasions.) If Boe is truly dead at the end of "Gridlock", it is likely because for _him_ *that* is "the end of the universe" : he's already existed along/at all other relative points in the history of the universe and his death circa 5B (9B relative to the formation of the original Earth) is, for him, the end point of the universe relative to his personal timeline. God bless the timey-wimey... lol

I consider any creation or machine that is able to think and feel and percieve like a human to be a person. They might not be a human, but they are still a person. Sure they may be built and be mechanical instead of being born and grown and organic but still, the human consciousness is nothing more than electro-chemical processes in the brain. So it's not that different. A bird can fly, is a plane not really flying just because it's made of metal and was built instead of grown? Of course not. Same goes for a mind that was built instead of grown. It's still thinking and feeling The sleeper was a person and was a victim as much as anyone else killed in the episode, they were a slave created by the alien race that wanted to invade but they were still a person. Not their fault.
