I share your outrage over Esther. She was the heart of Torchwood 2.0. Or would it be 3.0 after the Jack-Ianto-Gwen formation? At least Charlotte got hers in the end. There truly would be no justice in the world if she had lived scot-free while Esther was dead. The speech Oswald gave before bombing himself was disturbing. He truly was a monster despite his heroic act.

I don't love Miracle Day (though I don't dislike it as much as some others do) - but that was a FANTASTIC reaction. Definitely one of the best for Torchwood, wow. 😂 I was laughing so much at the rage and the cursing. Calvin LEAVING THE TABLE (I know the feeling - I was mad too). Amazing. Because of rights issues there are sadly no Torchwood audios that resolve this SPECIFIC situation as far as I know, though there might be some small references here and there... But there are a lot of great audios taking place all over the time line (before, after, during the show). Well, it's been a ride. I'm so glad you guys ended up watching Torchwood. It's been fun rewatching, and it's definitely had some of my favourite reactions. Gonna miss it. (Also wow what a coincidence with the Silurian thing.)

Watching this in 2019, so many years after it actually aired. I thought I'd come to terms with no more televised Torchwood, but your reaction to the ending brought back all my old feelings.

Say what you want about Miracle Day, but I actually quite liked it. Yeah it dragged on for longer than it should have done, but it was still so interesting to watch. I know you have the novels and audio drama's, but man, I wish they'd have continued the TV series. I doubt they will ever bring it back tbh, looks like Davies is done with it even though he helped in the writing of the audio dramas. Eve Myles is busy with her new show, but Barrowman has always wanted it back, even Eve too. That's the only hope I have left, but I kind of wish they would just come out and tell us if it will ever come back. Also, Jack needs to make a return on Who. It's been way too long. I rememeber reading somewhere that he was gonna be in a Good Man Goes to war and he get's beheaded by the monks and that's how me becomes the Face of Boe, but, I really hope they at least give his character some closure at the very least.

Don't think too much about Rex's inmortality, the whole using Jack's blood to make people inmmortal is dumb to begin with, he is not inmortal for something in his blood, he is immortal because the time vortex or Bad Wolf made him a "fixed point in time"; it's not something that can just be transferred, his kids are not inmmortal.

Remember Torchwood dug him up and froze him. He was buried in the year 27 and dub up in 1901. They never really went into how long he had to recover before they froze him but it was way more than a thousand years of constantly dying.

Yeah, as Calvin said that you should react to the audios, you should totally. The only ones I'd say are necessary are the main range audios from the first batch as they have a sort of arc, Aliens Among Us (Series 5) & God Among Us (Series 6). Podcast version & hopefully a KZfaq version also.

The Torchwood audio dramas deal with in-between stories in seasons 1 and 2, as well as sequel stories in a theoretical "season 5," as well as dealing with Captain Jack's past. I'd like to see them react to the Doctor crossovers of Sarah Jane, provided they wait for the conclusion of series 5 of Doctor Who to watch the 11th Doctor one. It'd be great to see another UK show fill this spot, like Broadchurch or Peaky Blinders.

It was worth sitting through the previous nine episodes just for the reactions in the last five minutes. - not saying that the previous episodes were hard to sit through, but this was the icing on the cake. If anyone is at all interested, Torchwood has been continued through full-cast audio dramas by Big Finish. And it is branded as Season 5, with the title “Aliens Among Us”. For those who don’t know, audio dramas are basically television shows without the visuals. Some include narration, though Torchwood doesn’t. And Big Finish have been doing them for 20 years, so they do them well. John Barrowman is Jack and Gwen is in the story, though because Eve Myles has been very busy they have someone else play her, with a storyline reason why. Eve Myles does show up though. Rex isn’t in it, but they do introduce a few new members of Torchwood. Also, Russel T Davies has had input in the series, though did not write any of the episodes. It’s a bit of a mixture of Seasons 1 & 2 and Seasons 3 & 4 in that there are individual stories, but there is a proper over-arching narrative. Season 6 is starting this year, titled “Gods Among Us” as well.

Rex's immortality is a by-product of Jack's blood but not due to it (he is a fixed point in time etc, non refundable, non transferrable lol ) . The Hole Thingie applied Jack's immortal blueprint to everyone in the world. When they reset it using the only mortal blood left, at THAT time, Rex had mortal blood. So the Hole Thingie made him the opposite, like it did to Jack on Day 1 of Miracle Day. Btw, what a fun reaction hahaha.

I wonder. Since Jack's immortality was linked to the time vortex is it possible the blessing was something to do with the time lords. What if the Doctor created it to shield Earth from the effects of the time war. If it uses a template and projects that then perhaps the Doctor fed it his memories or a stream of information from the TARDIS and it projects a perfect version of Earth's history so its events can't be changed by the time war. I don't know I like to theorize sorry it doesn't make much sense.

They should do short seasons of different shows like Dead Like Me and Pushing Daisies. That way when they have a small lull they can react to small run tv shows so that they can then dive into longer run shows

Please watch the Crossover series The Sarah Jane Adventures where Sarah Jane and the kids meet The Doctor (Ten and Eleven). The first crossover episode was 'The Wedding of Sarah Jane' where Ten appears. And then 'The Death of The Doctor' where Eleven appears. Please! They are great episodes. Although I know you don't exactly watch The Sarah Jane Adventures because it's for kids, there are some good episodes. But those two crossover episodes are really great. Please have reactions to them!

Of course reactions to audio wouldn't work, but if you guys listen to some Big Finish on your own time (I think Aaron has mentioned listening to Diary of River Song) I'd love to hear what you think about them. Like you could do reviews every once in a while, or talk a bit about them in a podcast or something.

Despite this season's flaws I really want to know how the arc would have developed. This was only Phase One. What was Phase Two and beyond? What would Jilly Kitzinger's arc have been like? How would Rex's immortality have been handled? I loved this reaction! I personally feel Jilly had a great arc this season. It was someone that when I rewatched it, I was surprised at how great a character she was (I was a teenager who didn't really appreciate the season at all the first time around). I don't think it's that she was only doing it for money early on and then suddenly became a caricature villain. I think she was always very ambitious and wanted to get recognition and a level of control but she was always working in an advisory role until she was given an opportunity to be more by the family, and then when she met the older woman and saw herself in the Blessing, she gained confidence in her self-righteousness.

Apparently they are working on bringing Torchwood back.. in the U.K.

Torchwood died with Miracle day for me... It was so sad to see it stripped of everything that it stood for. As much as I adore the series, and wish for more, If they could have stopped with COE, it would have been a fitting ending! At least we have the audio dramas to remind us what it should be like!

Even though the final scene is pretty cool it always annoyed me. Jacks blood isn't what makes him immortal. His immortality isnt just something you can give to someone or turn off. He is a fixed point in time. It's impossible for him to die. But I do also think although it can be bad at times Miracle Day is pretty fun and that scene when Jack is talking about how e is from the future is to this day one of my favorite scenes of his. Was great watching you guys react to Torchwood. Its such an odd series compared to Doctor Who but it feels so right!

Jack's blood isn't what makes him special. Many used his blood on themselves before, and it's just blood. However, if the assumption that "The Blessing" just used his whole being (blood included) as a reference to make the world mortal or immortal, then it would also work when his blood was in Rex. Since they had to "recalibrate" him to the opposite and now he can be healed like Jack. I don't think he would live forever though, just will be healed. Still, there is a plot hole, nonetheless, since The Blessing shouldn't be able to influence Jack himself in any way.

Not going to lie i struggled with MD on the first couple episodes, then it got quite good..
