the video was a great help. i ve wanted to upgrade the memory on this laptop but toshiba warned its was not user up-gradable i looked is up only 2 weeks ago because i really like this laptop but it was just too slow. after viewing your video i ran critical memory upgrade test and discovered it could be upgraded to 16 from the factory installed 4. What a difference this thing has new life. thank for your posting and for making it easy to follow

I have installed a second 4 go ram on my notebook but it doesn't seem to acknowledge it. In the system parameters, it is still written 4 go of ram. Is there something I should do? I don't think I have installed the wrong type of ram...

Are you using the 32 bit version of your operating system or 64? 32 bit -> Only allows the laptop to use up to 3 gb or system memory 64 bit -> Allows you to use 4gb or more of system memory.

My C5300 has 2 slots for RAM. It came with one 6 gb and I think I read somewhere it says it can handle up to 16gb. Does that mean I can install 2 8gb ram sticks in mine? What kind of gloves are you using btw? Those are nice.

no you can't upgrade cpu or gpu in a laptop, only ram, memory and *maybe* internet card

@@javegallc1184 amigo pero te los reconoce? Puede que lo instales sin problemas, pero te salen los 8 gb o 4, quiero saber si ponerle la mía 8GHz, pero seria botar el dinero si solo reconoce 4gb, a no ser que actualices la BIOS. Que ya es otro caso. Espero tu respuesta.

I own the same model with 1 slot of 4GB RAM, i tried to replace it with 1 module of 8GB 1600MHz, not working, screen black not booting, so i tried another module of 8GB 1333MHz, same issue ⚠️. How can i fix it to have 8GB?

Hello, had the same issues! After much research, the B5100 Satellite is unable to upgrade RAM or CPU... only thing you can do is change storage capacity. Very basic laptop for casual user, I will take off windows 8 & throw a Linux OS to save on CPU usage. Good luck!

hola amigo buen video queria preguntar tengo una Notebook toshiba satélite C55-B5214KL ...Y la memoria Ram es DDR3 a 1600HGz marca samsung. Y me compraron una memoria Ram de 8 GB DDR3L 1600MHz 1.35v Marca Crucial, queria saber si es compatible. Me dijeron que si normal trabaja mi Notebook en los 2 voltajes 1.5v o 1.35v. Estaba revisando por internet como saber que tipo de memoria y la capacidad maxima en el manual que e descargo por internet dice max 8GB en otros programas CPU-z dice 16 ram y tambien especificaciones de la memoria dice 1.35 y en otros programas 32gb Ram y dice que trabaja en ambas voltios 1.5v o 1.35v. Y use el scaner por internet Crusial y me dice max ram 8gb y memorias compatibles Crucial 8gb DDR3L 1600MHz -- 1.35v. Y nose cual dice la verdad..

CJ Pamp yes, you should be able to upgrade it pretty easily. Just do some research on what ram ur computer uses.

and even if it had two slots, your cards need to have same specs in order to work together(not the ram value(can be 2+4 or 4+4 or 2+8(if supports more than 8gb, not sure if this laptop does)) but speed and type)

@@rj.kawsar2 Same here, every software I use tells me that there are 2 ram slots, one used, I want to upgrade the ram, so if there is 2 slots, I get an 4GB stick, if there is only one, I get 8GB stick
