Imagine your home being preserved as you lived in it and people in the future hung up picturs of your murder around the house 🤣

I visited this place in the late 80's before it was ruined by the new owners. The exterior grounds were uncovered dirt and the back yard still had trees , the barn was still standing Whoever the new owners are in their " Unbelievable wisdom "painted the original white exterior green and installed a parking lot and a fence in the front . The only thing they haven't done is install a drive by burger joint. I don't understand how the city allowed them to cause so much damage to this historical site ? JUST TERRIBLE .

😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣👌👌👌👌👌🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 ‘I visited it when it was in ruins with nothing left. Someone bought it and didn’t ask ME, the grand wizard, how to proceed.’ The house is beautiful and the green is exactly right for the period. We can all see the photos. Why would you lie and claim they added a parking lot? You actually think the original state was nothing but dirt in the yard?

@ralphie5023 you don't know what you're talking about. You clearly know nothing about this house, because it was attached to a printing press and was not original in the 80s. Furthermore, it didn't become a B&B and open to the public until the late 1990s. A parking lot is required by zoning to operate the business. -The original barn was torn down at least 100 years ago, so your claim that it was white and then painted is nonsense. -There was a fence in the front in the original borden house. Look at photos of it online There have been three owners of the house since, the newest which took over in 2021. The new owner is trying to restore an original looking fence and a backyard gathering area, but you still need parking spots for guests by law. Each owner of the house has been a caretaker and made important contributions to the house that advance its longevity and continue the story. You are very misinformed nd spreading disinformation. The fact that so many (wrong) opinionated people liked your comment is concerning

@@lance8546 You are WRONG , the current state of the place is just awful ! How such a historical property could been destroyed is just unbelievable .. The stupidity of painting it green from its original white and installing a asphalt covered parking lot is the worse. I visited the place and no such parking lot was then required . It is just now a nickle & dime tourist trap ! How shameful !

@@Ralphie5023 No, i'm not wrong, and anyone who googles these things can see. I should know, I own it, I know its history. It has been open to the public since 1996 thanks to the McGinns. It was tan color - not white- under their ownership. Before 1996, it wasn't open to guests to tour or for overnight stays. The home was originally the olive drab color similar to what it is today at the time of the murders, and was painted tan to olive drab in 2004 after the next owners took over, Donald and Leanne, who also removed the Leary Printing Press attached to the side. The house was not white. Donald also added the barn, which serves as a gift shop for many to enjoy to this day, and was fitting as there was a barn on that location when the murders happened. Like you, I do not like the parking lot and agree that it would be best without a parking lot. I am trying to remove it... but the reality is that in order to be open to guests, parking must be provided. It cannot legally operate without parking. Zoning and permits require parking. This is the law - wether we like it or not is not relevant. Many attempts have been made to purchase parking at nearby lots, but they have not responded. We cannot restore the parking lot to an outdoor space until new parking is acquired. If you would like to see the parking lot removed, convince the church that's selling spots to the city to sell them to us, and I promise you that the parking lot replaced with an outdoor space for people to enjoy. Your claim that the property was destroyed by Donald and Leann is false and unfair. It doesn't sit well with me. I am compelled to defend them, and you need to be called out on those false comments. I may not agree with everything they did, but I respect their contributions to the Lizzie Borden House, its preservation, and the advancement of its story for so many to enjoy over the course of their ownership. The public owes much to all of the prior owners who made the house possible. Without them there would be no house for people to enjoy, and I have ensured that their vision, the McGinns, and mine will allow the home to be presrved and remain open to the public up to the legally allowed term of 99 years and after my passing. The Borden House will thrive for the remainder of this century. You make some claims (like the original color of the house being tan) that are easily proven false by anyone making a simple google search. I encourage you to try it.

I went to the Lizzie Borden house for my birthday in 2019 before COVID-19 hit and its 100% haunted b/c the people in the gift shop told me. They have pictures to prove it too. I went on the tour but I wanted to spend the night but there is something in that house... and its not a good feeling you get. It was interesting to see the Lizzie Borden house and find out all the facts***

Well, it was the image of a woman in the window. Picture was taken by a guest after leaving the house late in the day after sunset. But, no one was in the house and this was before they started renting out the rooms for those brave enough to stay in the house at night.

Your type are nothing but Eeyores. Knocked down by a ‘rich’ person? Is that your excuse for not trying? It wasn’t designated as a historical marker while it was falling down. I know several people who were too poor to get a house that was in great shape. All three of them bought places that were just like this place was and worked their butts off with ‘How To’ books clutched in their hands. I also know a guy who was also kinda poor that knocked down a house like this. Do you even have experience with this or is your family one that’s always being shut down by ‘the rich’.
