Thank you so much for your review. I can really tell the difference in the sound between the two violins. In the hands of accomplished violinists it is sometimes difficult to detect differences in violins, but I can hear it between these two. While I played piano and guitar when I was much younger, now that I'm retired I'm interested in a challenge. I don't want to be held back by my instrument, and so I'm taking Amazon off the table. These violins seem to use good materials, (spruce, maple, ebony). If I go with the Rockstar I will certainly upgrade to the Fiddlerman synthetic core strings and carbon fiber bow as you have suggested. Since you mentioned Gliga, I will look at them also.

Hi I was wondering Would u recommend getting a southwest strings violin eg klaus mueller prelude violin over one from Fiddlerman eg Fiddlerman ob1

I would say the Ob1 is better than the Klaus Mueller Prelude. Fiddlershop's Tower String violins might be more comparable to the Klaus Mueller Prelude.

Great Video and website. thank you. I"m an intermediate guitar player (electric and acoustic) taking up violin for first time. Trying to decide between Rockstar, or the fiddleshop electric/acoustic. can you provide some insight? thank you.

I think the Fiddlerman brand violin is probably a little better than the Tower Strings/Rockstar. I could be wrong but I don't think the Fiddlerman violins come as an acoustic/electric option. I think the Tower Strings is the only beginner violin they offer that does come as an acoustic/electric version.

Hi! I was wondering wich is the best violin between the tower strings rockstar and the fiddlerman ob1? What would you recommand between the two? Thank you!!

I think the ob1 is a one step-higher in quality and sound than the rockstar. The ob1 also comes with a carbon fiber bow which I definitely think is better than the brazilwood bow that comes with the tower strings. If you want to upgrade the bow with the tower strings, you're paying $45 more at which point you'd probably be better off getting the ob1. I looked and they actually have a sale on the ob1, which makes it an even better deal! bit.ly/3MtvcpY

Hey Lora. Thanks for the great video and comparison! I found your website regarding violin recommendations for new adult learners and i love the sound of the Rockstar. Unfortunately, i have to pay 25% extra in toll fee, because i live in europe. Do you know of any great violins / brans from Europe, at a similiar price range? ¨~300-400$. Have a great day :-)

I hate that you have to pay the toll! You might try looking up Stentor or Knilling violins. Those are good well-known brands that you will probably be able to find outside of the U.S.
