If you are a decent painter, show her your models and most of them will be like “oh my god, you painted that?!” Then you go from there.

Unironically how I started talking to my fiance. She loved seeing the painted models and even the build process later on. Never told her it was for a table top game until we were well into our relationship lol

Dude that sucks. I get that the game could be a bit slower, but FFS it's not anything significant. I'd play you same as anyone, I'd just say upfront "I need to leave by 10, shall we play 1500 instead of 2000?" or something if I was on a schedule (which I rarely am lolz). Declining to play is just nasty.

My girlfriend actually thinks Warhammer is cool. She's a typical girly girl, make up, expensive clothes, spends a lot of money on perfume, nails etc. Definitely not nerdy in the slightest. We're both middle aged. She encouraged me to get back into the hobby after we walked past the GW in town and she saw the models. I convinced her to get some models too, so she chose the safe bet of Sisters of Battle as she thought Tyranids and Orks were gross. I'm now painting a Hunter Clade kill team and after will paint her sisters of battle for her as I banned her for painting after she got red contrast paint all over our kitchen (she laughed at me when I said to close the paint pot each time she opens it to get paint, saying it was unnecessary - you can imagine the rest.) I'll let her paint the rest after I've done all the contrast bits and can put the paint on a pallet for her.

I think the the store owner and guy who cheated to teach the other guy a lesson are just as bad as the noob stomper. Not only was their behavior malicious but objectively is the worst way of going about it. Great video North and thx for the long one, keep up the good work💪

My LGS has two Daves; Dave and Stevedave. I had forgotten Stevedave's name the second time we met, but I remembered that it was something simple and common, so I said, 'Hey, Stevedavebillfrankted!' He's Stevedave now.

@6:49 I've had it exactly the other way around. I've been playing Daemons for years. I still had the old metal Bloodthirster. The new one had only been out for a few months (the much larger plastic version). At a tournament my opponent said I wasn't playing fair because my model was much too small. The TO agreed with me. The new model had only been out for a few months and you cannot expect that with a new model you have to throw away your older faithful model. The TO said it was different IF I used my Bloodthister as if he had the strength D weapon.

The weird letter price system is from back in the pre € days, GW probably made it so their stores around Europe could just put up a sign instead of putting price tags on every single blister.

I can't remember the last time I was in a GW store and everything was price marked. I once played a fun game in my local. "Yo, (manager name) how much is this? How about this? And this?" (For the record, I know the manager well. It was quiet and he wasn't doing anything. He offered me an internship and a price gun...)

@@Daemonik Yeah, cause it's a proper waste of time marking everything. Local GW replaced it with a computer you can view the webstore on. Consider the lettering system is from back in the computers-are-clunky days, and there were so many blisters, sergeants came in blisters, special weapons came in blisters, was probably more shelfspace for blisters than boxes.

@@WindlordRyu I get it's a pita, no question. But, being serious for a moment. Timmy comes in with his mum and has £30 birthday money to spend. He looks at various boxes and has no idea what he can afford. Manager is busy with various Daves and Steves wreaking havoc. Mum is nagging him to hurry up. It turns what should be a fun moment for Timmy into something less than. Even if they had shelf-adhered lists of the prices (e.g. a list of space marine prices next to the space marine section etc) it would be a genuine improvement. I know most veterans know what's what, but there's a lot of new folks coming into the hobby and it's not friendly towards them. Hell, I went into my local earlier today, wanting to buy an item. Found it, no price. Was expecting it to be in line with similar kits, so the till moment was a little awkward when it was £12.50 more than I was expecting! If it had been price-marked, I still would have bought it at that price but it would have avoided the "HOW BLOODY MUCH?? Why is this tank 25% more than that tank?" moment 😄

Good thing about being heavily religious, no prenup necessary. My fiance and I both belief marriage has no place in the government it is a union of two people fulfilling God's will for us and are having exclusively a church marriage. Divorce is not an option lol

i agree 100% with you bit about just being proud of your hobbies, working when dating. my girlfriend saw my collection and love for the hobby, thought it was neat but not for her, then darktide came out and she loved it, she yearns to slay heretics more than me lol now she paints with me once in awhile, i just gotta get her to take the plunge and start playing :)

I enjoy your narration and opinions quite a bit but if i could offer a critique - wish you'd have some smaller format uploads - 10-15 minutes. Hard to pay attention to an hour long video is all. Cheers!
