When you got above 10k the sound of that bike is somthing I'll never forget and it pulled like a freight train... my hands would shake evertime I was about to ride it, until I grabbed the bars, then it was like connecting with somthing slightly more than just a machine and we flew..

I owned a Yamaha Vision motorcycle (XZ550) in the early 80's. It wasn't called the Vision for nothing, because that's exactly what it was. Out of the crate it had carb problems and unacceptable fork flexing, but once those issues were resolved (cleaned out the carbs and added a fork brace), it was literally the stuff of dreams. I'll never forget that bike. Everything about the Vision was a delight.

Yamaha is the Toyota of instruments? Most, and if not all most definitely the best ones, of the engines made by Toyota, have been designed by Yamaha. I would not say that Yamaha needs Bösendorfer to improve their pianos. But, the acquisition gave access to Bösendorfer's specific production techniques as well as their knowledge of which woods to buy where. In the same way, Yamaha did not need to buy Selmer Paris for them to design and produce great saxophones. The reason the grand pianos in the famous concert halls of the world have all been (Hamburg) Steinways, or at least these halls had a Steinway D available, is because the artist agency that had all the important pianists under contract was owned by Steinway and the pianists had a contractual obligation to in public play Steinway only. You'll see that in recent years, at the Polish annual best Chopin pianist "games" there now is a choice and 50% may go Steinway, while the others chose Fagioli or Kawai. The famous Austrian piano brand is called Bösendorfer and in that registered trade name the ö is short notation for "oe", so if you don't know how to get the ö in typing, then you can replace it by "oe" - in the German language, in correct computer implementations, the ö and oe are sort-ordered as equals. The same applies to ä/ae and ü/ue.

Here are some historical stories about the famous Yamaha in Japan! History of Yamaha First, Yamaha repaired imported pianos and then made musical instruments. The company started out repairing imported pianos, and then started making musical instruments, and then started making electronic musical instruments, and then started making DSP. Then, in order to use DSP for other purposes, Yamaha started to make routers. In this way, Yamaha began to make musical instruments, electronic devices, and network-related products. Then, why do I make motors, furniture, and so on? Piano repairing gave him expertise in woodworking, which he used to make furniture, which he then used to make housing equipment. During the war, the military said, "You make furniture, so you can make wooden propellers," so they made propellers for fighter planes, which led to the production of engines. We made engines, so we will make motorcycles. Since we make engines, we also make boats, and FRP is used to make the hulls. Using FRP, make a waterslide, and then a swimming pool. The water in the pool became muddy, so we made a water purifier. Water purifier was a failure, and algae grew profusely → Started algae cultivation → Bio-enterprise As a result of Yamaha's continuous efforts to turn every possible success and failure into a new business, the word "Yamaha" conjures up images of all kinds of products, and this has led to a phenomenon where people have lost track of what kind of company Yamaha is.

The 1LR-GUE V10 in the LFA was not solely built by Yamaha. It was a collaboration with Toyota. The creation of the V10 was lead by Lexus' chief engine designer Okamoto Takamitsu. The engine starts life at Toyota's Myochi plant. It is at this plant that the engine block is made from molted aluminium. The block is then sent to Toyota's Honsha factory. The same factory that used to be Toyota's F1 engine facility. The block will get milled, drilled and polished and emerges as a precise engine block. In a sealed room Takumi’s hone every sharp edge using precision polishing tools. After this a highly skilled Takumi pre-assembles the finished engine blocks to check if they fit precisely. Disassembled they travel as unit to Yamaha’s Iwata city plant. It is at this plant that 4 highly skilled Yamaha Takumi’s fully assemble V10. A process that takes 2,5 days for one engine. Before the engine gets put into an LFA, it undergoes a half day of exhaustive testing. Everything mentioned here was documented on episode of "Mega Factory" by NA- GEO. You can find it here.

I used to own an sho and was in a club for sho's. Ford built them for the police force and had designed the engine but decided to get Yamaha to build them because the production quantity was too small for them to set up another plant. Yamaha did a great job putting them together though. They had an unserviceable transmission though, couldn't even change transmission oil without drilling a hole. Probably expected the police to just get new car by the time the trans would potentially have an issue

I always loved yamaha anything. i love them for their engines but i love them for their amplifiers too. any product that yamaha makes, will bring a smile to your face. i guarantee it. no matter how cheap you buy a yamaha for it's always worth it.

I also might have misheard, but I think he said suspension work for certain cars were by Yamaha, but I think it was a former Lotus engineer who did the work for cars like the AW11. Still Yamaha has some amazing hits.

I wish more emphasis would have been placed on motorcycle development. Lage capacity V4 V-Max (based on Honda V4), EXUP exhaust valve system, 5 valve Genesis heads, forward leaning engines, temporary ownersip of Ohlins, crossplane inline 4 to mimic V4, etc.

I had a 2006 yamaha 400ex and i loved it. Put it thru hell n only ever had to bend back the handlebars. Then somebody was n idiot and busted the A-arm n frame doing things they shouldnt. Now i have a 93 virago starter motorcycle n its a fun little bike. Amazing on gas. Plus i have a yamaha guitar. Yamaha is everywhere

When you first showed the first generation Ford Taurus SHO, you inadvertently identified it as having 356 horsepower. Only the EcoBoost produced that number. My second year SHO was a great car for the times until the throttle cable stuck which incidentally occurred several years later in my Contour SVT.😡

Yamaha also designed the 2ZZ-GE engine fore the 2000 Celica....it was fun with 180hp, but plagued with reliability issues.

The Ford Taurus SHO used a Yamaha formula 1 mother . It could spin at 8000 RPM all day long and is one of the best motors ever put into a car. Sadly the SHO (W) , pun intended Was the wrong car to put the most beautiful Motor ever built. This motor was used in the days of 3.5L engines . HP of F1 karts at that time in the hi 700HP and over 10,000 rpm.

I came up with and installed a windshield banner saying SHOtime on my buddies SHO. So much fun racing unsuspecting people and blowing them away.

I had a Matrix XRS with the 2ZZ motor. Redlined at 11k and would hit lift at bout 9k rpm. The problem was these motors are high rpm and required the owner to drive and maintain it correctly which many of us didn’t; resulting in sludged motors that warranty had to cover. I did it once 🤣
