We decided to use traditional hedge laying techniques to maintain order over the hedgerow bordering our agricultural plot of land in Norfolk UK.
The hedgerow has been neglected for roughly 30 years and therefor stated to get very overgrown and leggy. Becoming less of a hedge and more of a row of rough looking small trees.
A mixture of Blackthorn (sloe), Hawthorn and Field Maple with the odd well established Dog Rose, hedging this spiky it is a task not for those of a faint heart!
Laying this hedge is part of our plan to enhance and restore this mismanaged agricultural environment and install a natural, sustainable and workable habitat by form of planting coppicing woodland.
