This is never intended as a guide / tutorial. This video is for entertainment purposes only and using it for your reference is strictly at your own risk. I highly recommend seeking professional services for repairs and maintenance to save time and the risk that may further inflict damage on your gadget.
So the story is there is a speck of dust that managed to slip in between the sensor and protective film on my Fuji X-T1. I tried various ways to blow / clear the dust without success. Finally, I tried using a high powered air blower and lo and behold the stupidity cause my shutter to break apart due to the air pressure.
The price, time and location of the professional service is not ideal for me. The warranty for the camera has expired and I managed to get a new shutter for a very good price. Therefore, dissembling my camera is either killing 2 bird with 1 stone or killed by birds. Period. I am ready to get a better model should I failed at this. Also I am always the curious one.
The part where I dissemble the sensor is absolutely horrible and I don’t know how I managed to escape without damaging it. At the end, I managed to salvage it and hopefully I am able to main this camera for a few more years to come.

So much simpler than film cameras. Once thing I learned in the past is never disassemble a Japanese film camera.

Could you please make a video of how to fix the rear command dial since it is a very common problem on X-T1 cameras? I love my X-T1 but the non-working rear dial is driving me nuts.

Any idea what size button battery that is at 4:30? on the backside of the motherboard? I need to replace mine, as it holds the date and time settings along with custom camera settings, and mine is dead.

What glue or tape did you use to stick the grip back to the camera? And what did you use to remove excess glue?

Hi! Having a problem with my XT3 camera. Started 1 month ago: when taking video for my "talking head" blog, at some time second or third 30minute video will stop before 30 minutes, just stop recording. Battery is still ok, no overheating. And the file is lost, not recorded on the SD card. If you push start again it will record video again and everything is fine. But every session at least one video is always lost. I have two SD cards - SanDisk 64 and Transcend 128. Don't know what to do. Very stressing... Do you have any ideas? Thank you in advance

Hey there , a great video indeed My XT1 suddenly stopped releasing the shutter and it’s not reading the digital lens (giving me a lens error and the screen starts flashing) Sent it to a repair shop and said both prbs (the shutter and the lens error) came the shutter failing , Did you have the same symptoms before yours broke or was it smth else ?

It was something else, mine is broken shutter (literally) without any lens error.

this The major problem with this first sensor the anti dust system with very bad sealing of the first protection glass i had 2 xm1 one XT10 and my last Xe1 suffer same specs of dust or tiny fiber a shame for a pretended high quality product ,cleaning your fisrt glass to remove dust compress the foam that not cover the entire perimeter just permit to other particles to enter i disassembly the xm1 xt10 same sensor block.....

hi! thanks for this video. I have a XT20 and it fell, when i switch it on, it keeps on restarting to default. i know the problem is with cmos battery, maybe it fell off inside. is it easy to open? thanks!

I have no experience with XT20 at all. All I can say is, professional is always a better choice. However, if you have run out of warranty, have experiences fixing your own electronic devices, have all the right tools, understand the risks that you are taking and confident, by all means do it yourself. :)

Do you have a dust free (in between filter glasses) sensor after this repair? This is a common problem with Fuji x cameras. I heard even xt3 and x100series have this problem. But this is easier than repairing DSLR, in which case sensor calibration is not possible at home without professional equipments. I guess mirrorless cameras use metal shims to calibrate the sensor position, as the end of your video shows. Am I right?
@jyxtech1749
@jyxtech1749 4 жыл бұрын
hmmm, I don't really know much about the calibration but I just reassembled accordingly and it doesn't have any focus issue. Yes, I mean the dust only happenned when i use it extensively after 3-4 years of travel in dusty areas. Currently it is still dust free. :)

I have dust in my x100f, im guessing its the filter like you said. Do you know if the x100f uses shims too? or will I ruin its calibration if I open it and clean it?
@haiqing6049
@haiqing6049 3 жыл бұрын
@@RicardoTrevinoLohman I cleaned my X-T2 with a dust under the filter glass. You take care when removing the sensor and watch for those shims. I even messed up with a couple of thin shims. But I didn't have a focusing problem later. Imagine the worst case is like a large format camera with tilting, you still get nice photos.

ah, as far as I read in the forum www.fujixseries.com/forums/topic/9848-x-t1-internal-battery-auto-reset-issue/, it seems to be a capacitor soldered on the board. I don't remember seeing the button type battery when I disassembled it. For X-T2, you can clearly see the internal battery in this video by other channel, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a654e62LsZjQaac.html
