The trailer is coming along good plus ya can maybe mount a tire holder on it. I have Bearing buddies on all my trailers but I also made big washers that covers the entire back bearing and put behind hub so it helps a lot . Been using them since my teens just every few of months ya pump a couple of pumps grease in . Which I know some that put them on and never check them. But if ya check them regularly they work fine.. As always Sir thanks for the ride along and Keep’em coming. Trust the process 👍👍👍 tell ya granddaughter good job operating camera

Another great video, I'm looking to do the same to my 1962 boat trailer, there are some places where I go fishing that I have to travel on gravel roads. I mean 12-15 miles, outside of installing mud guards on my truck what else can I do to protects a newly painted trailer? Keep those videos coming.

Gday mate i enjoy watching your videos ,i have done 6 restos and i know how much you have to think ahead on what and where your gong so as everything flows , order wait now there is a saying i know well and especially when you have a crap courier service that takes forever to get the goods to you or "loses them in transit" it can really stuff your time frame around . With the new tounge/tow arm what i did was sprayed fish fish oil up the inside of all the frame tubes to try to get a few more years out of it , i hate those old school jockey wheels get a flip up you wont regret it , one other thing is whats this other channel ? id like to check it out , with bearings i just replaced them all not worth the grief if they let go on the road now i would tow this boat from adealade to darwin no worries anyway keep the videos going take care .

I was sure hoping that the tongue didn't fall when you were sitting on it with the jack unbolted and kinda just in a bind. Haha, "Trust the Process" ❤ I loved my old tilt trailer I had back in the late 90"s, made it much easier to launch and retrieve and a few of the campgrounds we used to go to Near Casper, WY Did you consider swapping things over to electric brakes?

A question, Why did you use grade 8 bolts instead of grade 5? I under stand grade 8 has more tensile strength than grade 5 pulling in a stright line, but because of this the grade 8 has less resistance to side shearing over a grade 5. Just interested in why. I agree on the bearing buddies. You should find a set of old centerline wheels for this project Big Blue, I think they would make it look cool given the age of the boat.

Grade 8 bolts are at least twice as strong as Grade 5. Compared to grade 5 bolts which can be broken with an 18 ft drop, grade 8 can withstand up to 90 ft drop height without breaking due to the larger diameter of the bolt’s shank or shaft. The threads of grade 8 also have tighter tolerances for wear and corrosion resistance which is better for the environment and human health. The Grade 8 has a hexagonal shape, making it more resistant to rotational forces and helping resist corrosion. This design also produces less heat in comparison to its predecessor. Grade 8 is one of the most common bolts found on structures in North America. The grade 8 bolt has equal strength to a grade 5 bolt used in direct studs. Grade 5 bolts are commonly used when the building requires non-load-bearing structural members like floors, ceilings, columns, or roof beams but applies force directly against them since they are designed to carry loads but not transfer them directly through the structure.

Bearing buddies dont belong on any trailer. They cause more problems than good because people dont know how to use them the right way. Just repack your bearings 2x a year and you will be fine. It only takes a short amount of time to repack them. In my line of work every trailer i look at with bearing buddies the brakes are full of grease and the wheel seal is pushed out
