After Transformers: The Last Knight, it is refreshing to see blockbusters that have fun with their premise instead of using it as a dower studio checklist. Additionally, Transformers Prime has an underrated direct-to-video animated film that is an epilogue to that excellent series.

Just watched this movie and absolutely loved it. Mirage was probably my favourite character out of them all, I found him to be very funny and entertaining. I was actually sad when I thought the character was going to die. Loved all the references to the 90s and even references to G1. The tie in to G.I. Joe was definitely a nice callback to the marvel comics. This might mean that the military we see work with the transformers will be the joes. Could this perhaps be Hasbros attempt to relaunch the joes into live action if so I’m all for it. My only complaints with the movie were we needed more scenes of the maximals and the Terrorcons. I’d have loved Unicron to have saved scourge somehow at the last minute so we could see him again.

I loved Beast Wars when it first came out and am just now revisiting it on Tubi, and you're absolutely correct. If you can get past the dated computer animation, the stories, themes, characters and voice acting were all SO good. One thing I'm very intrigued by is the idea of seeing Optimus really learn to work with humanity. The line in the trailer "you brought a human here?!" gives off the impression that one, he isn't impressed by us and two, he didn't want to work with humans. We always see him as this wise sage leader, who while NEW to how things work on Earth, is still very much like....a dad figure to the humans in his team. He seems to have an established relationship with humanity in almost every iteration of Transformers even in _Age of Extinction_ he has human allies. This is even seen in Transformers Prime and Animated where the humans look up to him. Here it seems that Prime will have to learn how to maneuver working with humanity and all our limitations that come with us. I wonder what his relationship with Noah will be like. Cause it seems to be a bit familiar to his starting point with Cade Yeager, where they trust each other only out of necessity then it forges into something more. And that's just utterly fascinating to me. Do I prefer the OP that is just this innate leader who seems to have all the answers, who will do whatever it takes to protect his own and humanity from Megatron's wrath? Do I prefer Dadimus Prime? Well yeah of course. But I'm always open to new interpretations of the character. I like what they did with him in the War for Cybertron series too. GOD I hope the score is as good as the Bay films. Say what you will about those movies but the CGI (especially in the first) and the SCORE is just stunning. Steve Jablonsky should've gotten SEVERAL Oscars for his work.

Well, to be fair, Primal’s first contact was with very open-minded ancient peoples, while Prime’s first contact was likely like Bumblebee - anti-alien, and possibly heavily armed CIA/Special Forces/Project Blue Book. Let’s just say Optimus wasn’t as “warmly welcomed”. Hey, Steven Spielberg also brought us E.T., and we remember how adults “welcomed” him in his movie…
@TheRibottoStudios
@TheRibottoStudios 11 ай бұрын
@Ronald Paterni that's fair prime had every right to be wary. And after having seen the movie I really just loved this interpretation of prime. Someone not all powerful, but can hold his own in a fight for sure. Still an ass kicker. And seeing him and Noah have to work together was cool. It was kinda like Cade and Optimus' relationship; something that started only out of necessity that grew into something more, after they saw what happened after being selfish in their intentions. It was interesting to see prime not only APOLOGIZE which is rare, but admit he was wrong. He had a legit arc here. Hearing a HUMAN say "till all are one!" Just hits DIFFERENT man

I never forget how shocked I was in the theater at the end of transformers three. Cybertron explodes. Then optimus just straight up executes sentinel point blank. The megatron (who just helped him beat sentinel) says “Noo. We need a truce now. And after all who would you be without me optimus?” And then optimus just murders him and the movie ends. My jaw was dropped lmao

Heard somewhere years back that there was an alternate ending proposed, in which they actually do agree to quit fighting. None of these 2 endings would really satisfy me, Megatron has to pay for what he's done and Optimus cannot just forget what he has done, but a mix of the two would be great. Sadly we all know that this couldn't happen because Hasbro wanted more.

I miss the old Chris reviews where he would be fair and honest and go in depth and not be afraid to criticize and give movies actual grades. Now every review is like 6 min of him saying even bad/mediocre movies are "good fun" and defending them and only having positive things to say about every movie. Sigh

What made the movie so enjoyable is while the overall story plot is similar to the other Michael Bay films the actual transformers characters themselves are treated with so much respect and care. The autobots in particular actually have personality and actual character development as well. Mainly Mirage and Optimus, and also Arcee got more screen time than bumblebee, bumblebee was absent for most of the movie and besides from Wheeljack, bumblebee got the least amount of screen time.

You are spot on about how this should have been a brother adventure. I was thinking the same thing. Dean Scott Vasquez felt sidelined. I appreciated the archeologist angle but the little brother really needed to be along for the ride too. When Noah told his little brother to stay home I was like Nah! That’s where the story is! Who cares if the mom worries. Lol. It was my 3rd favorite out of the franchise.

Just watched this movie last night. First, I like the idea/review points especially that it would probably be a better story if it was more of a brotherly movie because that part of the movie spoke to me more for sure. I grew up watching Beast Wars and Armada so you know I was cheering in my living room like a little kid seeing the Primes side by side and in action. It was freakin awesome! I hope this moves toward a Beast Wars-focused movie(s) and we get to see more from them in the future. I would have liked to see more Cheetor and Optimus Primal because their story line in Beast Wars was a good one but this is more part of the whole "We want to see less people and more transformers!" criticism. Overall really good movie and will be rewatching it again soon. Side note how cool would it be if there was a reboot(pun intended) of Beast Wars with newer animation but the same story and dialog?!

The chance of it getting a wide release is essentially 0 unless by freak chance a larger distributor sees the film and buys up the rights. It will likely only screen in Ohio, NY & maybe LA, along with any film festival/horror conventions Chris and the producers take it too. Sorry to burst your bubble, just using common sense when speaking about the industry.

@@adellis24 Nah, I get it. I figured it would be treated like most independent movies, I was just hoping I'd get to see it in theaters before I picked it up on blu ray, but it is what it is, just as Long as Chris gets to release his vision.

I'm a huge tf fan, but this one was tough to watch. How was the script given the green light? Its so corny and some of the dialogue had me saying "really?". The one thing I can give it is they used Arrival to Earth at the end but that's about it. The lack of big-name actors really effects this as the 2 lead characters are barely able to carry this movie.
