He's like the deception version of Bumblebee

The Bay Barricade always struck me as basically an insane asylum patient with an extreme aggressive streak brought onto the Decepticons during the war because they saw a use for his otherwise unnecessary and oft-indiscriminate brutality and belligerent behaviour. Hence him snarling at and throwing goons around while Shockwave, far too large for Barricade to push around, just looks on. It would also explain his drool-spitting, frothing aggression when "interrogating" Sam in the first movie, and why he seems to just sort of lose his shit and let Sam make a run for it; he's _insane_ and experiencing cerebral issues that causes him pain when his brain runs too hot, so asking questions and restraining his violence at the same time actually physically hurts him. He's not just flailing for no reason when Sam makes a run for it; he's almost having an _aneurysm._ It's also part of why he just roams off-course when push comes to shove. He has 0 loyalty to the Decepticon cause, and is only aligned with them because they give him free license to indulge his violent instincts. He backs out and goes under the radar for his own survival, and the only reason he keeps coming back to the Decepticons instead of going it alone is because the Autobots would lock him up. He _hates them._ Poor bastard might've been a person if the war hadn't happened. He might have gotten the help he needs.

No matter what you think of the Michael Bay movies, we can all agree that Barricade was one of the best things to come out of them. Without the live action movies, we wouldnt have Barricade as we know him.

Barricade's timeline is a strange story, but once pieced together, it kind of makes sense, especially when Barricade took charge of several Decepticons in Dark of The Moon, judging by the way he treated a Protoform by bossing them around when he was with Shockwave. In The Last Knight, the London Chase with Bumblebee was brutal, but sort of funny when Barricade is shot, trips over two cars, before getting hit head-first by a small-ish truck, and then him saying "Oh, that hurt" as a sort of shrugging-off gesture to what just happened, as he's been through a lot worse.
