The actual reason why the Fire Nation was able to roll over most enemies was because of their technological and organizational advantage. The only one that could beat the Fire Nation Navy at sea were the waterbenders and they're few and far in between. The fire nation basically had tech and government institutions comparable to the 1860s while the earth kingdom and water tribes were somewhere around the 1560s with warlords running their theaters only nominally fighting for the King in Ba Sing Se or stuck inside their fortress like the Northern Water Tribe.

What's funny about the Live Action of ATLA feeling rushed is that if you count the runtime, the live action season 1 actually had a longer runtime than the animated ATLA. Ironically having less runtime and more filler helped the animated show feel better paced.

The question about who's the most famous musician of all time is beyond easy. You can go to any corner of the world and ask some randos if they knew Michael Jackson and I would bet they knew or heard his music before. I don't think you'll get the same result with Taylor. And also, Taylor's music caters to a specific fan base or fans of her genre. Michael's music is a worldwide phenomenon, and had a much wider reach. And the fact that we're still talking about MJ when he's been dead for over 15 year is a testament of his influence. Hands down, Michael would be the most famous and influential musician/performer of all time. Especially if compared to Taylor Swift.

Whereas I agree with you, you're severely underselling just how big T Swift is. First of all she has the internet which is a huge advantage. Her music caters to certain demo, however it is impossible to not know who she is. Never listened to a single song and I'm saying this. Mjs music reaches more people yes but today it's about so much more. Her demo is connected to everyone. They all have friends and parents who have friends and coworkers. If you ask randos about MJ they'll know him for the music but they'll also know T because she's fucking everywhere. People seem to not understand that saying T is as big as MJ is actually impressive for MJ since T is playing with a "stacked deck" She literally has enough influence to sway elections everywhere! Do you understand what that means? Really think about what that would require. Things are different, the world is bigger and you're either refusing to open your eyes or you're stuck living in the past if you don’t think T is in the room with MJ when it comes to notoriety

I think Connor was speaking to the fact that in the NFL, franchises can just uproot themselves and move, no matter how deep their ties to the city were and without any fan input. Im guessing its in contrast to english football, where a team leaving is much more rare or unheard of.

The Raiders are actually called Las Vegas Raiders now, but not all of the marketing is replaced. Nobody officially calls them oakland raiders now. But since they have been "oakland" for so long, its taken a quite a bit of time for most regular people to refer to them as the Las Vegas Raiders. Not to mention they havent done anything in the postseason. But yeah official they are no longer the oakland raiders. Also American teams have its city team as its identity.

Honestly had one of those unnerving but interesting meetings with a Yakuza in Japan. It was on my first trip and I was wandering around Kabukicho looking for food one afternoon. Went to a small ramen shop up a flight of stairs. The shop is full of guys in matching suits who all look at me the minute I come in. I was gonna back out cause it was unnerving when an old guy in a suit waves me over and smiles at me and shows me the menu. Gave me a bowl of ramen and asks in perfect English “are you enjoying Japan?” I nod and we make some small talk. The minute I finish he just shakes his head and says the bowl is on him and to enjoy my time in Japan and I get quickly shooed out of the store. Tried to find the building on subsequent trips but they knocked it down and turned it into another bar.

This is gonna sound bad but Sokka's "sexism" isn't by choice nor is it insulting in a way. He's born on a small tribe at one of the most isolated places in the planet where the tribe's "warriors" are mostly strong men BUT a lot of their Waterbenders are women. He has the notion of "women can't be warriors" cause that's how he grew up. It's more naivete than sexism (although the animated one does kick it up a notch).

The Las Vegas raiders are now called the Las Vegas raiders. They moved for money and the new stadium. They changed the name. The closest is the San Francisco 49ers are about an hour outside of San Fran

As someone who isn't a Swifty but grew up with family members who listened to her, people really undersell how diverse Taylor's music is and her earlier achievements. She was the youngest artist ever to win a Grammy. You Belong with Me, Back to December, Bad Blood sound so different from one another. Imo it's about equivalent to where people discount the diversity of The Beatles with stuff like Day Tripper, Rocky Raccoon, and Sgt Peppers.
