To play devil's advocate . It is easy to say things like "we should fund all science more", but as someone who works in the environmental field, often times there is a limited budget and choices have to be made. Space is "cool" and bipartisan, NASA has one of the most favorable public opinions. So when NASA wants budget for space things it is easier for them to get it. Then when another agency wants money for an envionmental study or carbon capture project it is met with hostility from one side and it is often not passed or passed in a gutted form. So while I wouldn't say space exploration is a waste of money I don't think its necessarily wrong to say there is an argument that those funds could be better spent on the benefit of humanity.

The best example of an anime flopping due to animation is Beserk. One of the greatest stories of all time (not that the adaptation really did it justice) and it flopped horrendously mostly due to the animation. I would also say though, Prison School had incredible animation that still stand up today and its a super popular show. You could argue that its the lewdness of it, but there are shows like High School DxD that pretty much every anime fan has at least heard of or attempted to watch.

A lot of people say space exploration is a waste of resources and usually say something "we can be using this money for the public good, solving homelessness, etc" when in reality that money would never go to solve actual issues we have. Most of that money would find its way into the pockets of friends of politicians and billionaires. The rest would just be spread out throughout our bureaucracies. The real reason so many politicians and pundits spread around defunding space exploration is because it shows how effective PUBLIC spending is. They want to get rid of it because it's a constant reminder that their policies of privatizing everything aren't more effective at anything except making their friends money.

As someone very interested in sexuality... yes we were having the porn discussion 15 years ago. And that was only just as KZfaq was going massive and smart phones were coming into existence. So... the problem is not that its too available. The issue is people don't see it as something which *can* have negative effects or dismiss that as puritanical without taking it seriously. Or they didn't talk about it at all. Now at least we can have these discussions and equate adult content with drinking, smoking, gambling, coffee, and anything else you can get addicted to.

With the HxH animation I agree with completely Connor that’s it wasn’t very standoutish but it was still good. And personally I think that’s because they didn’t try to get this super insane quality, throughout the arcs it was always consistent and it was more about these grandiose scenes and the art behind it. We all recognize grandpa raining down with golden dragons, netero creepy ass face fighting Meruem, gon standing over pitou with tear running down his face or when netero saw gon right before he chased pitou. Killuas lighting god pose. Meruem holding the shogi girl after she dies. Morel testing gons strength To me the scenes are less about “look how smooth this looks” and more about look how impactful this single scene is we want you to feel the emotion in this scene and Remember it

It's one of the most expensive anime per episode to ever be created. There is a reason why it's so good and it's because the anime is done well all around.

I always enjoyed the after dark content more, I was sad when you boys said you where stopping it. So it makes me happy see the after dark style on the main podcast. A suggestion you guys should do a like top 3 episode where each of you will make top 10s for say movies, games, tv shows, music etc. and present and then the other boys will have to guess which on out of the 10 is your top 3 and score points based off how many you get.

I wonder how different these food delivery apps are in Japan, because here in Europe, its very expensive compared to making your own. Diner usually involves ordering a minimum of 20 dollars, where I pay 5 or 6 if I make it myself. Also not that many healthy options here either.

one time they said it's not expensive at all. You get the food delivered and a meal costs around 10€ I think they said. With Uber! Normal pizza delivery on the other hand is pretty expensive in Japan.

I understand where Connor is coming from on how we need life experience because as an artist, it can influence our/my work and draw inspiration. But I find stuff like other worlds or being in a place that's not our own (alternative world as you can call it) to be more interesting. I'm currently writing about how artists use other 'other or alternate ' realities in their work. As someone who's introverted, Autistic and socially anxious, going to clubs or where there are a lot of people makes me feel uneasy. I am working on my anxiety and it's better than when I was a teen. Last time, I got a headache when a girl wanted to talk to me during lunch.

@@knaditya8228 right. It was a show that swept under the rug for sure, and most that saw it I think didn't give it a shot because how it looked probably. Personally I think only reason I watched it years ago was to "get our money's worth " out of our family Netflix account before all the price mark ups etc and they only had a handful of anime being put up on there. Also where I found B the Beginning (think that's what it was called)

@@knaditya8228 wasn't it just the ending of season 1 and labeled as such because episode number count?? Something like that if I remember it's been YEARS since I watched those shows lol . But yes agreed I was thinking it sucks it proves the point if the anime doesn't look "good enough" or a certain style it kind of falls off faster. Then again b the beginning looked just like any other animw that I can remember compared to ajin

@@ViktorErikFade yeah season 2 of b the beginning was just a epilogue ova kinda thing which was released 2 years after S1 so I was hyped but it was just whatever. As far I remember b the beginning actually look quite good with great animation in fights I remember it having amazing fights it was not popular because of Netflix not having much anime at the time and not marketing it all

Animation quality is super important for 90% of people who rate anime. No matter how good the story, characters, or plot are, if it has average animation, it will never reach the top 10 in today's time.

Meanwhile, if I don't find the characters or story compelling in the first few episodes, I'll move on regardless of animation quality. Good Animation = Hype, which seems to be the most highly, if not only, valued aspect of most animated shows nowadays.

@@Ash_Wen-liSee that's where I think OP is wrong. Most anime fans wouldn't recognize quality animation if it dropped a piano on them, they just make a superficial judgement of old art style = bad animation.
