冰皮是中國香港的，屬於南方，美心月餅是香港的品牌，買回家，要趕緊放冰箱凍硬，吃的時候拿出來解凍15分鐘才吃，口感最佳。

@@TravelinChina The first one only costs £40.5 (HKD$368) in Hong Kong and it was cheaper during promotion period (HKD$228). The cost is quite expensive in the mainland.

Moon cakes vary. It's nice to get fresh ones locally made (in China). If you get given a fancy box ones, it's worth bearing in mind that that if people get posh ones they might keep them and pass them on to friends and colleagues. So they might have done the rounds a bit. That said, they keep well, and are usually individually packed.

Hi Stu, Heather and Bob! Thanks for sharing this reaction video:) I am so happy that Maxim is your favourite one. It tastes fab, isn't it? The traditional version of Maxim with Lotus paste is about £36 pounds for 4 in Manchester and the size is slightly bigger. You may want to try it next year. Regarding the snow skin moon cake, I think it is created by a brand in Hongkong, Taipan. The price of that brand Stu bought online is slightly higher as it is made in the UK. You can never find this brand in China. Happy Mid Autumn Festival! Enjoy the rest of the mooncake:)

your parents are lucky to have a son like you. It will be quite a challenge for an elderly couple to eat so much sweet stuff. So just wondering if your parents really will finish the rest of the mooncakes in the following days. Suggest they give away some to relatives or neighbors to try.?

Maxim is a very reputed bakery in Hong Kong. The patriotic owner sold most of her shares to a UK company in 2019 after her stores were harassed and ruined by the rioters. I bought a box of this kind from T & T in Toronto as I misread the price tag although I don't regret the purchase. Now I also feel lucky because it only costs $82 Canadian compared to your purchase price. Happy mid-autumn festival to you, and joyous Thanksgiving to your kindest and cutest parents!

The bewildered founder of the company is actually at her retirement age. Her quite elitist family background implies that she actually knows most big firms' CEO and one came to offer help at this critical time. This UK firm Dairyfarm definitely has the capacity to revive the stores, protect the employment of the staff, and keep up with the benefits package for the staff who have spent years of their lives working for Maxim.

I am originally from HK so I can tell you the snow skin mooncake was originally started in HK, which resembles to Japanese moochi at that time. It started during the 80s. The Maxim lava custard mooncake is also from HK which is very popular as a non-traditional mooncake when compared to the traditional southern Chinese mooncake that are mostly sold in HK. It is recommended that the lava custard mooncake is best to be served warm by reheating it in an oven or microwave for 30 seconds.

moochi originated in China centuries ago. Can find this kind of traditional softskin delicacies in south east asia as the chinese who came to settle in this region hundreds yrs ago naturally brought along their food culture .

冰皮月饼自己做很方便，所以diy很流行，家庭一般都自己做，但好腻，不管甜不甜都好腻。我们江浙地区民间传统吃酥皮月饼，我奶奶做就做传统的，赠礼还是买的广式月饼，那种才有包装。还没有试过鲜肉月饼、火腿月饼，听说很好吃，明年试试，我是吃够冰皮月饼了，到现在嗓子还发腻，糯米外皮不好。不知道有没有鲜花月饼，云南的鲜花饼挺好吃，做成月饼也很不错。

watch out for expiration date of moon cakes. they have limited time. make sure to eat them before they expire! especially those expensive ones.

Just a reminder, when you eat sweet stuff one after another, you tend not to really taste each flavour, your taste gets all mixed up. Therefore try not to eat them one after another.

@@TravelinChina Yes, I noticed that in UK. I think it is because of the cold weather. That is why UK snacks are very sweet (in chocolates, for extra energy) and very salty (in potato crisps). I thoroughly enjoyed the videos of your parents. Your father seems quiet but with a typical British sense of humour. Both your parents are gung ho, willing to try "foreign" food. And you have lived in China long enough for the Chinese "filial piety" characteristic to rub off onto you. Good for you!!
