Like Trax said, I'd rather get a ruby or sapphire for the price. Ruby and sapphire are underrated, both are rarer than diamond too. There's a reason a lot of royalty buy sapphire engagement rings.

Great vid. So for the common man who's price range is those Diamond 'Chips' (Under a carat) cluster ring, lab gets you the bling but for about the same price you can have natural diamonds.

You can practice on fake stones(glass cut) and cheap metal. Once your skilled is honed you can go to a jeweler and offer your service

He talks like that to his regular customers. He puts watches online and says they are authentic watches when really they are after market watch pieces put together from eBay. He does not sell genuine products and if you don’t believe me check out the Better Business Bureau, they have an F rating for a reason. I will continue letting people know how you scammed me out of genuine diamonds that were supposed to be in the watch. He takes no ownership for any problem that arises and will call you fake when you bought all your pieces of jewelry from this guy.

Like he said about a year after this video was posted: Lab diamonds continue to go down in price. Why? Because there are a finite number of real diamonds on the planet. There is an endless supply of lab created diamonds.

Hi @trax, I have a question which you could cover in a video if it makes sense to you, "similar to lab created diamonds, are there lab created rubies, sapphires? If not, do we know why?" Asking because you mentioned it makes sense to go for ruby instead of natural diamond if spending a lot of money. Love your videos :)

When you mention the price of the two tiny diamond I got a zap on my body. I can't even bought meself my dream console which is way more more cheaper. It is piece of plastic ( like plastic ) lab diamonds are just Like natural. This is not practical way to test . I am from 15 years in Diamond manufacturing business but still i can not separate Lab diamond from Natural diamonds through my scope. Because they are same.

Yeah, for a little as I know, or seems the labs would make way more sense for those little rocks. But for something that's for the heart, then definitely natural.

The labs are cool cheaper but a quality stone is always the better buy i love old school diamond the settings there hard to replace my girl lost a 2 carot stone insurance wanted to settle for 40 g hot a band set at a estate sale appraised at 35 had it reworked the settings were wore think i paid 2 gs for the work one large stone in middle 3 on each side and the other ring had a larger stone on top one it was from the 20 bad ass shinner u couldn't take a pic all u see is the shine

Lab grown diamonds already devalue diamonds. As the process gets better and cheaper, who gonna buy natural diamonds? Our guy who almost has 20 years in the business cant even distinguish them without expensive specialized equipment. A diamond tester pen will work the same on both of these because they are both actual diamonds. The resale value of diamonds (Natural and lab grown) might even plummet within the next 20 years.

Imo Lab Diamonds are the real diamonds. It’s the only one which is exactly what it says it is. Where as a natural diamonds has its price artificially inflated thought limiting supply. How more inauthentic is that.

It is true. But natural diamonds lose 50%+ of there worth the second you step out of the shop. So you end up ahead by spending 6k instead of 20-30k for the same stone.

At this point I would not buy natural diamonds as investments. The difference between lab and natural is the story alone. So for nostalgic reasons? Sure buy natural. But natural diamonds prices might be a giant walking on clay feet. What happens if the new generation is fine with lab grown diamonds? If they are not convinced the stone is better if some poor guy or child dug up from somewhere?
