Hi, in this video I show you how to make tree stump with mushroom fairy house using jar, used KFC popcorn bucket, aluminium foil, cardboard and air dry clay including my painting steps.
I work with homemade clay for this project but this tutorial applicable to any type or brand of air dry/ paper clay .

HELP! I used your recipe and followed it to the "T". Afyer kneeding for 20 min, still tacky and resembled unfloured pizza doh! I slowly added The FLOUR; the 1/3 cup at the end of your list of ingredients. Still, Tacky/gooey. Fyi- i set all ingredients measured on the counter and asked my sister to verify i had it right... ✔ Anyway, I kept adding until the Clay resembled your video. I made ONE TEST item last night. It rolled out nicely to 1/4 inch. I let it set for 10 hours - it dried, ZERO CRACKS, but... Soft like a childs toy! It was a 4x6 rectangle. When i picked it u, the top slumped over, it bent in the middle, just like a super soft piece of plastic! About 5 more hours, now its crumbling like Saltine cracker only "soft pieces" 😳 What did i do? I don't want to throw it away. Should i add glue?

Insanely cozy house! Bravo! I tried to make clay according to your recipe. I had cheap PVA glue and the clay turned out a little different than in the video. When drying, a few cracks appeared. But it is incredibly pleasant when sculpting and when it becomes completely dry. It looks like ivory. I will experiment with it to get a great product even with cheap glue. I really want to make a lot of houses out of it from small jars of baby puree. Thanks for your recipe!

Hi, how are you? Your work is very beautiful. I would like to ask you if the flour or the corn flour causes decay in the project when time passes where a very small insect appears causing damages in the work. clayitnow I could do trial and error. It’s not even a waste because there’s no right or wrong way. Just having fun with it. I found recipes for both do it yourself air dry and oven dry clays. I was very happy not to have to send for them on Amazon, because they are $$$$.

After making your homemade clay, if you don't use it all, how do you store it and how long will it store for?

I would normally uae fresh clay, seldom keeping it. The most I kept it for 1 week, scared of mold

At what point do you use the tissue paper clay and at what point would you use regular clay? Was unclear in video when you switch from one type of clay to the other! Would love to know

sometimes I add a little bit of tissue paper clay - corn flour base to the homemade clay with flour base when the clay feels too rubbery. May be I should share my new finding/ update in new video after working with homemade clay for sometimes😊
