As a divorced Catholic I have been living a chaste single life for over twenty years. I 'm not complaining about my status, it's my choice to accept the loneliness and self discipline because it is the way that I acknowledge the eternal nature of the sacrament of matrimony. Maybe I'm missing something, but I have never personally seen any indication in any parish or diocese of emotional support or compassion or concern for Catholics in my position. Yes, God sees those of us who are still married in the eyes of the church but we don't get to stand proud at the diocesan silver anniversary celebrations, and it does get lonely. I have compassion for all people in and out of the church who suffer from this kind of isolation, and I would like to challenge the church to do a better job at being aware of and reaching out with loving social and physical interaction to those who for whatever reason are neither called to the religious or the married state.

Thank you for speaking up about that! LGBT people are not the only ones who face a lifetime of singleness. I don't know the best way for the church to minister to people in that situation, but at the least it would be nice to see more recognition that there is a large group that doesn't fit into either married life or vocations.

How this man has not been excommunicated is beyond me. What's going on in the Catholic church that this would be allowed to play out for so long? My goodness. The same with what's happening in Germany. The Vatican should parachute down and simply demand they bend the knee to the magisterium. If they do anything other than immediate, absolute and apologetic acquiescence, then they should all be excommunicated, stripped of position, committed to a life of penance and prayer scattered to monasteries around the world, and all replaced to a man with orthodox traditionalists. Oh wait, we have a Jesuit pope. No wonder Fr James Martin is allowed to spread his heresy.

I'll tell you why but you're probably going to cuck and get mad at me. It's because the church sided with the allies post ww2 on their multiracialist pro j wish propaganda. That is what opened all the doors to let in the modernist sickness you see today. The hatred of "racism" the notion that all races are equal etc. this leads to false ideas about reality which are a kind of "gateway drug" to all the other nonsense which is pushed in modern liberal society. You can choose to ignore this and continue to promote multiracialism, but you'll only be shooting yourself in the foot and destroy yourself by doing so. You were warned.

@MegUSN52
@MegUSN52 2 жыл бұрын
@YAJUN YUAN I agree with you. The problem that Christians have is that they listen to others rather than actually read the Bible for themselves, including the Hebrew Bible. I can’t ever understand how Catholics say that Peter is the father/founder of their church as it doesn’t state this in the N.T. anywhere. Peter was Jewish. In the N.T. it was Paul who brought Christianity to the Gentiles (Christians) not Peter. Peter preached to fellow Jews. I’m not against Catholics as my husband and his family are Catholic. And Protestants have their own share of sin in their churches. But I will say that my husband and his family rarely pick up their Bibles and read it for themselves. My husband will occasionally read it at work, but I’ve never seen him read it at home. And he doesn’t and won’t pray with me, unless I’m the one doing the praying. I will say that my husband does not believe in the Pope nor does he believe in the Rosary or praying through Mary and saints. So he doesn’t agree with everything Catholic just as I don’t agree with everything Protestant. I personally don’t believe any Christian denomination, including Catholics gets it 100% right. And really we shouldn’t be caught up in religion and church dogma anyway. God gives all of us believers the tools to discern what is right and wrong and He instructs us to be very careful of wolves in sheep’s clothing. I think that can be said for both Protestants and Catholics. In most Protestant churches, Fr. Martin would have already been excommunicated as he should be. I’ve not really watched many videos of The Counsel of Trent, but I will be watching more of his videos. Again, I’m not against Catholics or Catholicism. The first Gentiles were neither Catholic or Protestant. They were followers of Christ.

I am not a Catholic, but my husband and his family are. They are very supportive of the LGBTQIA (and how many ever letters they keep adding). I am Protestant and I do not support LGTQIA. I can show love and compassion, but I do not support them because that would be wrong of me…just as they should call me out on my own sin. I should also state that my husband and his Catholic family also support abortion. I do not believe, based upon scriptures, that God makes mistakes. He would never make us something that goes against what He created us to be as told in Genesis. We are all given choices in life. We all sin. Jesus calls us to not live in the world (something I very much struggle with). I get told “what would Jesus do” and that Jesus hung out with sinners. True that Jesus hung out with sinners since all of us are sinners save for Him. But He wasn’t there having a party with them and condoning their behavior. Instead, He was leading them to Him and to turn away from their sin. I think this is becoming taught less and less. The Bible is very clear about being a lukewarm Christian. But with that being said, all of us should recognize that none of us are without sin (my sin may look different than your sin). I am commanded to love my neighbors. One thing that this gentleman said (sorry, I don’t know who he is) that really made me think is about sodomy and how heterosexuals also engage in it. So the ones of us that engage in that, we are no better than homosexuals. We are sinning as well. The world needs a lot more of Jesus and a lot less of self.

I knew what Fr. (it pains me to call him that) Martin was undermining the Church with his twisted interpretation of Church doctrine and leading people very likely to hell. But seeing that poor young man who was so confused just broke my heart, he knows the truth and he was looking for someone to help him hold to the straight and narrow and learn to live with and overcome same sex attraction. Unfortunately, he found Fr. Martin, did he look or sound like he was better for having found him? I know it was a short clip, but I thought that he still looked miserable and the evil teachings of Fr. Martin fighting against what the young man knows to be true is only making it worse. This is the first time I have seen Fr. Martin handiwork in human form, generally, these confused people would be kept away from him, you always see him surrounded by happy LGBTQ people. I can only think he wants to say, "this is what the Church is doing to the LGBTQ community", but that is not how I saw it. I knew he was slimy, but these clips really reveal just how devious and manipulative he is, I am no Church scholar or theologian, but those don't seem like proper characteristics for a priest or anyone in the Church hierarchy. It is a shame that so many in the Church support this man and his diabolical work. It almost seems like there are some, even quite high up, that will not be happy until every traditional teaching and dogma of the Church is destroyed and replaced with whatever the current social justice or politically correct nonsense is at the moment. I am so thankful that the priests in parish are very traditionally minded and just stick to the Bible, the catechism, and the saints. It is a sad state of affairs when priests like mine are not the massively overwhelming majority. Take a trip through the internet and it makes me think that, at this point, they may not even be in the majority at all! Thanks for reviewing this documentary, I will be saving my $3.99. Thank you also for being fair to Michael Voris, I know he can be polarizing, but if I had to choose to add to the church 100 more Fr. I agree & I think Trent is right when he saids its almost unfair. It is, this young man realizes in his soul that the gay lifestyle is contrary to the church. He understands sin can not to taken lightly. But when Father Martin says the church welcomes you in but does imply you don't have to quit sinning, it just adds to this young man's confusion. It probably makes him feel so lonely, not fully excepted in either group. We all have that one sin that we have difficulty avoiding. Wouldn't it be better to say come back, let us pray for you, with you. To tell him that it's not sinful to be tempted, we actually receive graces when we fight against temptation. And the graces we receive will in time make it easier to resist the temptations. We can give him hope by loving him with the sin, as Jesus does. Father Martin tries to give hope by ignoring the sin. That will never work.

A lot of instances in this documentary are offering a very malformed definition of love as synonymous with “enabling.” Basically the old addicts cry of “loving and accepting me means celebrating my self destruction!” It’s not a new method. Go to any AA meeting down the street and you’ll hear a room full of people who admit how manipulative and self-deceived they used to be, and how they acted during interventions. And you’ll hear them say they’re so grateful their family and friends refused to tolerate their BS. We are not helping people by encouraging them to self harm. That will NEVER be the definition of love.

Right around 15:00 I have to agree with Trent. You can’t just throw the term heretic out there and expect that to be a positive attention grabber. Hollywood and indeed history unfortunately have both made that term sort of lack seriousness. In a world where up is down, people might be quick to back someone known as a heretic, so the term really doesn’t help. It’s also just better to explain yourself civilly and remain calm when conducting yourself.
@pandzia9277
@pandzia9277 2 жыл бұрын
I don't agree. Jesus ended up on the Cross for speaking the truth in a very straight manner, and He didn't mention we should only say the Truth the way it doesn't offend others. In fact, Jesus went on a Cross for His straightforward teachings & judgements. When we are reading the 10 Commandments, it's not sounding like an invitation: 'Please, would you be so kind and not kill?', or 'It would be very much appreciated if you could turn up at Mass on Sunday!', or 'Would you please not have sex outside marriage?' That's not God's language. If someone calls Fr Martin a heretic, they might not know the official regulation on the conditions of being a heretic, but it actually speaks volumes about the issue that was challenged. Let' s call sin a sin, and stop worrying about hurting other people's feelings. We might end up crucified by the mob, but at least we didn't compromise the truth!! And that aggressive way is the only way to make a change. Look where the Church is because Catholics are afraid of speaking. Mrs Pelosi goes to Communion because nobody will publicly call her out on it, she is not afraid, no Catholic will shame her. She would think twice before going to Communion if she knew she will be challenged.

@@pandzia9277 your whole response seems like a strawman. Where did I argue for being silent or fake-polite or weak? All I said was the word heretic is useless for many reasons, and in some cases would actually cause a rallying effect because up is down in the world we live in. I also said/implied to tell the truth and argue with logic and not use words like heretic because again, it doesn’t help and actually hinders what you want to convey. The word heretic has to be used against people that genuinely seem to be catholic (which is not the case for father Martin, my opinion), so it doesn’t apply here either. Jesus did a whole lot, it doesn’t seem like his only strategy was to call people heretics. He had infinite tools and strategies that he utilized.

@@jordand5732 Hi Jordan, I have a different view on how people can / cannot behave in situations here discussed. I am not trying to attack you, I am just presenting my point of view. You prefer to remain calm when conducting yourself and behave civilly. I find 'calm' difficult, when people are so openly and without consequences violating Catholic laws, offending the Holy Spirit, and top it with calling themselves Catholics! I think they should be called out on their views, told reality of who they are, and this often is not a pleasant nor civil business. Like, if someone supports abortion. Are they killers, do they have blood on their hands? You can bit around the bush, explain the sin in polite terms. I just like things called by their name. Please, don't feel attacked. I'm just putting my view next to yours on the subject.

"I'll take today's kinder, gentle and more compassionate church, a church where all are welcome". True, all are welcome, but as Catholics are we free to mold and reshape the church into what WE want it to be as Fr. Martin seems to be suggesting.

I went to a talk by Fr. James Martin at old Saint Joseph in Philadelphia in 2015. My assessment is: as Charles Curran was to contraception so is James Martin is to ' LGBT' ideology. He did not mention chastity at all. He complained about the Catechism calling homosexual acts as intrinsically disordered. He mentioned 3 'gay friendly' bishops; Tobin of Newark, Cupich, and Farell. For me, this so-called *father* Martin brings back memories of the original New Ways Ministry of so-called *sister* Jeannine Gramick & so-called *father* Robert Nugent of the late 1970s & early 1980s. It's the same old, same old ambiguities and lies. The "Pass-on-this-one" moment came in the form of the clip showing Martin's homily where he said "our church" instead of the true "Jesus' Church." This is my 1st introduction to Martin and I'm wondering if he was ever in contact with New Ways Ministry or their publications in any way, shape, or form?

This and the fact that in his book “A Jesuit Guide to Almost Everything”, he mentions the fact that he became out spoken about the LGBT issue AGAINST direct orders from his superiors not to, meaning he did so in disobedience. To me, this made me shut his book. Instinctively I knew even back then that a Jesuit acting against obedience could not be following the Holy Spirit’s guidance. trent, the black screen when you screen record is because of HDCP. it's copy protection. most streaming services have it. they will only stream 4K video to your TV or computer monitor if it's HDCP-enabled. which basically means they are streaming to your computer a scrambled video stream, which is transmitted over HDMI or displayport or PCIe to your monitor (as a scrambled video stream). and then, your monitor recognizes that it's scrambled and so it attempts to decrypt it in real-time. and since it comes with HDCP keys built-in, it is able to decrypt it. so at every point you have access to the stream, it's just a black screen, until it gets to your monitor. for that reason the only way to record some of these 4K streams is through devices that basically hack your monitor. however, some services only use HDCP for 4K streams. I'm pretty sure amazon's prime video service is like that. so it would be possible to set the resolution to one smaller than 4K and take a screen recording.

I'm very pleased with the way that you present things as they are. I did want to make one comment (not about you or your video, but something that you referenced). You mentioned that Father Martin was looking forward to the day when homosexuals could kiss during the greeting. I'm sure that married couples do this some times. I'm married, and I have never kissed my wife during mass, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone else do it either. It does strike me that homosexual couples tend to complain that they are looked down on when showing affection in public, but you don't really see heterosexual people making out in public. And, I'd rather not see that either. That is something, in my opinion, that should be reserved for privacy with your spouse.

But now, seeing him talk and the effect he has on others has led me to conclude that even though he is right about some things (particulary his criticism of ordinary catholics and their prejudicial focus on homosexuality while the MUCH worse problems of aldultery/common-law arrangements get a free pass), he is clearly wrong in his approach. It's a confusing message and, as such, is more harmful than helpful. Keep up the good work.
